White Rice is a familiar 240sx in the no-prep racing game. It’s unsuspecting, inline-6 powerplant take’s opponents by surprise at every event. At this years Import vs Domestic - World Cup Finals, we witnessed it’s first 6 second pass - watching it go OVER 200mph in the 1320..now that’s BAD@$%! Not too shabby for a bunch of no-prep, 1/8th mile racers. Congrats to the team at Prospeed! We can’t wait to see more killer passes from White Rice at TX2K18!

It is for drag racing today for a non pro team for sure. But its thought provoking that this is pretty much what they did in qualifying in F1 during the 1985-86 seasons when they could go full insanity for one lap. They also went 11k rpm and 80 lbs boost back then, but that was 31-32 years ago! Damn I wish us mortals could have mass made pneumatic valvetrains available for less than the tip of a space shuttle so we could replicate that.

I remember back in the mid 90's when i had my 93 240sx .... 30 psi of boost was insane and it was usually ONLY a supra, meanwhile me and and many others were like ~20 psi or less... lol Its all good, my 240sx is happy with 15 psi...

85 psi is almost as much boost as can be made with a single stage turbo. I talked to a diesel truck puller once that said his ran 90 psi on a single stage. The tractor pull guys use 2 or 3-stage turbos all the time, and have been doing that for 40+ years. Wonder why drag racers haven't tried multistage turbos? The highest boost pressure I have ever heard of was 240 psi on a 3-stage, quad turbo International 466 in a diesel super stock tractor. (The owner of the tractor told me that personally.)

1g/2g eclipse/talon and the original plymouth laser are probably my favorite cars of all time. Nothing looks as sexy as a 2G talon AWD with the scythe style wing, or a 2G GSX with a fat front mount and the rainbow wing. Theyre about as pretty as a MK4 supra if not better looking. 300zx is also one of my favorite looking cars. Too bad theyre all so rare to find in good condition and pricey

I don't know if anyone will see this comment but what's this car doing to make it launch like that? Something about the gearbox? (Clearly I know nothing). It's one of the things stopping Leroy from running 7s according to a few people I've seen comment.

Car was 300lbs over the class min weight. That mustang was right at class weight. If we hadn't broken the turbo it would have been a close race, our 6.97 pass wasn't all in yet (80ish boost still some left on the table on the short end), and the mustang ran an .83 on that pass, If we had gotten the holeshot and turbo stayed together it would have been a very close race. Either way, a loss is a loss! Next year we will be back with 300lbs less in the car and a fresh turbo. The turbo has made 95ish psi before on accident, so there's a bit left in the car for next year!
