4,000 Horsepower BEAST MODE Camaro!

Back again with a new Billet motor, Tom Bailey brought his 4000 horsepower “Beast Mode” Camaro to this years Drag Week with hopes of blasting a couple 5-second passes down the 1320. Unfortunately for him, he fried a piston and tore up a cylinder sleeve on the first day - which needed work that couldn’t be completed along the way. We were still thrilled to see the car AND some low 6-second passes in Ohio during the first 2 days!

yea the motors are impressive but the chassis an frame are meant for speed so that part isnt impressive, for the fact that id rather see your average joemobile wit a turbo slapped on pulln 11s an 10s in 1/4 jus cuz its not suppose to do that, unexpected performance is the best! the reactions are classic!

I feel the same way, its badass to see something go that fast, but its barely a car anymore, its hard to compare something like that to anything we're use to, its closer to a funny car than a street car. I actually like watching manual cars race way more for the same reason, its more exciting watching someone row gears. way more driver involvement.

No, I'm not with "Her" These cars are very impressive, the amount of power they manage to put down in insane! Just, they don't even look like cars anymore. More closely related to top fuel dragsters. I prefer watching street cars loaded with more power than they can handle. They just have a lot more character to me.

you can calibrate a dyno for a mini copper to put out 4000 hp. dynos are a tool, what is a true indication of power is the mph trap, 4000 hp should have put this car well in the 250's

They use Math. You dont have to run a engine to its max rpm or potential to be able to make reliable estimates on what its max horsepower and torque is. They can run it to the dynos limit and then piece the variables together to get a number.

***** You have to look at it that most people do not have the deep pockets or sponsors backing them in this sport like so many that are featured in this channel. This goes for the car owners/drivers and the speed shops who have the dynos available for the public to use. Where i live the few shops which have dynos for the public to use do not have the ability to handle much over 1500hp. I will look for the video that showed how the engine builders can determine the HP/Torque through equations and do it with in 10-20hp through the powerband. I was skeptical at first also till i watched the video. If i find it i will post a link.
