Hi Masa-sensei 😊 My examples: 1. 私は寝かけるけど、赤ちゃんが泣きました。 I was about to sleep, but then my baby cried. 2. 会議にながら、社長は話すかけて、私のスマホが鳴きました。 During the meeting, my phone rang while the boss was talking. (This one seems wrong!) ありがとうございます!🙏

彼が好きだと言う 彼に好きだと言う Which one is appropriate
@MasaSensei6 ай бұрын
彼が好きだと言う (かれがすきだという) This sentence means "I say that I like him." Here, the focus is on the act of saying that you like him. The subject "I" is implied. 彼に好きだと言う (かれにすきだという) This sentence means "I tell him that I like him." In this case, the focus is on telling him directly that you like him. The subject "I" is implied, and "彼に" (to him) indicates the direction of the speech. Contextual Usage Use 彼が好きだと言う when you are reporting to someone else that you like him. Use 彼に好きだと言う when you are expressing your feelings directly to him. Choosing the appropriate sentence depends on what you want to convey. If you are talking about your feelings to a third person, go with the first. If you are talking about confessing your feelings directly to him, go with the second.

Good evening po Masa 先生、 What's the difference between 朝ごはんを食べるところ and 朝ごはんを食べかける? Thankyou so much :)
@MasaSensei2 жыл бұрын
There is a small difference in here! Dictionary form + ところです just means "about to do..." and it comes at the end of the sentence. Stem + かける implies the idea that the action had barely begun and then stopped by something. So, you need to add what stopped the action. For example, 朝ごはんを食べかけて、電話が鳴(な)った。 朝ごはんを食べかけたけど、トイレに行きたくなった。
