I was Lucky enough to bump into Patrick yesterday, whilst out walking with a friend of mine. I recognised him straight away from the great videos he puts out. Been watching now for a few months. I didn't realise he lives only a mile or so away from me! He stopped and spoke to us for quite a while. Lovely polite guy, with a passion for the outdoors, and our beautiful countryside. Keep up the great work Patrick, it's much appreciated.

Hey Tim, it was great to meet you and Dave yesterday too. Thanks for the chat, it was nice to meet you when I was literally finishing my filming that day of the walk I did. When I got back home I just recorded a little piece saying hi to you both, which I will include when I edit this film. All the best to you 😊

Last weekend I did this walk, the first of your routes I have followed and also the first time I had walked on this side of the Derwent Valley around Matlock. A fabulous route that I wouldn’t have though of myself with the views over Matlock and the path alongside Sydnope Brook being highlights. I’m glad to report that the Plough in Two Dales is open was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon.

Matlock is a lovely place, I always enjoyed visiting and so nice that in a couple of minutes you can leave civilisation behind. That is why I like living where I do coss I can walk for miles and barely see a soul. I would be completely miserable living in a big town or city nowadays. This was a really enjoyable film and the music was excellent too. Cheers Patrick and hope you are well.

Another very enjoyable video, thank-you Patrick. Great choice in pubs too, The Sycamore was my 'local' during my time in Matlock (coincidently, 18 years) and the Laburnum was the pub I went to after work. The Plough was another favourite too. Nowadays I always find myself in the Thorntree whenever I go back to Matlock to visit friends.

Great episode as always, and the soundtrack sounds great as well. Nice to see Riber Castle dominating the countryside around most of the walk, and that detour to see a close view of Sydnope Hall was a good idea! The turrets on top looks nice and it looks like one of those many 19th century country houses that were built in the style of a Norman castle. Peak Rail and Whitworth Park also look nice, and shame the heritage rail line was closed when you went. I was walking around the entire length of the Malvern Hills for the first time when you filmed this, and it was a lot of fun; good memories! Looking forward to more episodes :-)

Very enjoyable Patrick albeit an oldy. It's good to hear, and in fact I'd expect nothing less from your good self, that you are a local walker to. So many are glamorous and only think good walks exist miles away. Lockdown has awoken a few to their local areas. This was another fine one. So many features and great views. Lovely park and river. And I'm sure you'll ride on that train. How beautiful is that? Well, I trust you're well. All the best as always. Mark

Hi Mark, yes I'm not really sure why it took me so long so get around to editing this one, but here it finally is. I certainly do enjoy many local walks, and of course lockdown has provided much more of that opportunity. Like you say, more local people have been awoken to what's on their doorstep which I think is great. Yeah love Whitworth Park, and the River Derwent is always a pleasure to walk beside. The train ride will defo be a must do when it's open again. All good here anyway Mark, hope all is well with you too. All the best, Patrick 👍
