Your wide shots are always so good and why I've opted to start trying them for photos of people. I wrote off all 3rd party lenses after an experience with Samyang but this makes me want to try out the viltrox lineup for sure!

You sure do know how to work a wide angle lens Hunter! All the sample images you provided felt really inviting, I honestly felt like I was right in the moment in each frame. Distortion also looks quite minimal! I think is would pair nicely with my 18-55 XF "kit" Lens for the landscape and occasional portrait shootouts.

Viltrox 27mm f1.2 & 75mm f1.2. Great build quality & excellent image quality. I believe these lenses rival some of my Canon EF “L” lenses that I previously owned, which cost several thousands of dollars more than the Viltrox lenses. I am looking forward to other lenses that may be forthcoming from this company.

I have the Viltrox 33mm & 56mm 1.4. Both lovely lenses. And awaiting my 27mm 1.2 in the post. Think the 75 & 13 will give me the perfect set of Primes. I also have the Fijinon 90mm f2, which is a beast.

Thanks man. I love sigma ART lenses, not a huge fan of the DC lenses by Sigma honestly. However I think image quality is pretty close either way. The build quality for me is where this one wins since it does have a clicked aperture ring. If that doesn’t bother you than the 16 mm sigma should be just fine in my opinion, I haven’t reviewed one but I should.

Would love to hear your thoughts on having this vs the 18 1.4. Would you keep both in your kit? Why would you keep one over the other?

Yeah so I have both of them as you could see in the video I was using the 18mm switched to the 13mm, there’s actually a huge difference in the two. I feel a lot more comfortable shooting someone close up with an 18mm over the 13mm due to the distortion in peoples faces when your closer up. I use the 13mm a lot for interesting modeling photo shoots to get some obscure angles and looks + interior shots at weddings, landscapes and when I’m in tight places. It’s nice for video too since you can crop in a bit if needed for vertical from horizontal. I’m not sure if you’d really need both but I find use for it in my shooting style

I don’t like the design of the sigma lenses from their DC line up and I really need an aperture ring, hard to have a Fujifilm without one. It feels like cheating.

From the reviews I’ve seen they do great but the 27mm pre production had a few bugs so I’d wait to see how it’s going before you get one of those. I used the 13mm twice in this video and I think it did quite well

@@hunterhart1 I mean fujinon LM lenses offers so good video experience, viltrox offers sharp images. If viltrox is good at videos as well, it will replace fujinon king lenses as well. By the way, I have Sigma 30mm f1.4

Far from the best, it has a lot of problems with flaring (even with the hood on) and the bokeh looks dead. Also, it distorts around the edges. XF 14mm beats it's ass.

@@hunterhart1 yeah I have both. I stopped valuing the open aperture on viltrox since I found out that I dont like the out of focus areas that it produces. But I have managed to make fine looking videos on viltrox also even with the flaws that it has.

@@reljapetrovicmusic the value is that it shoots twice as much light in dark scenarios. Which I could not compare to this lens because it wouldn’t be fair to say “oh the XF is superior, although it can only let in 1/2 the light of the Viltrox” if the XF could shoot at 1.4, it would also have issues around the edges the bokeh would look dead too. It is a 20mm equivalent, no compression, no bokeh (To be expected by any wide angle lens based off of the research I’ve done.) either way I’m glad that you have found that there’s a better lens for you out there. I really do appreciate you watching and I appreciate your input. I love this lens and I find it to be really good! Maybe you have a bad copy, idk.
