Thanks, Dave! Checking in for Day 2. Great lesson. You're already helping to fill gaps in my playing!

This is a great series. But its really fast paced with all the work thats needed in between days. Hard not to skip the needed work in between lessons and not jump ahead to the next day. Appreciate you!

Love that you highlighted how that minor shape fits into dorian. That’s one of my goals this year, to dive more into chord relations within caged and diving a little deeper to the triads and dyads along the string sets within caged.

Fantastic Lessons Dave....Finally someone is making sense... I have been frustrated with the whole scales thing for years. So much so that I totally gave up on even trying to learn them. I focused mostly on playing the songs I liked with the chords I could learn in different voicings so as to at least have the music make sense and strengthen my finger dexterity. But these toned down lessons you have initiated are truly refreshing and clear so as to realize the connections on the neck. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Great New Year initiative, Dave. Can’t wait to see the progression up to Day 14. Sounds like a distillation of what we’ve been doing together for already… 4 years now! Greatly appreciated. You took me from noodler to jammer and I thank you for that. 🙏

Day 2 has delivered. You have me hooked, line and sinker !!! I’m finding myself sliding into positions for connecting triads. My ear picks it better than me hitting the correct starting note with out a slide to it. Thank you Dave

Jumped right into this last night. Didn’t use the chart as I have been working on this for a bit. However what you said rang true for me. I practice this stuff daily and thought I knew it but soon as I took my eye off the guitar I was making mistakes. I got more work to do. Busy time of the year for me but I plan to go through the whole thing.Just may take me a bit. Love your style Dave, thanks !!

Your putting in the work man! With as much experience as you already have you can work this stuff in with a fair amount of repetition 😎🎸

Lots of fun so far. I see day 3 has a backing track and maybe a backing track for day two would be helpful going from the A to the E minor.

Its great knowledge thanks ! Its also kinda theoretical . Maybe give some examples how do you use them in real life music ?

Hi Dave, Im really liking this and can already feel the benefit in terms of navigating the fretboard & being more melodic my soloing. I have question about the Em and the Dorian scale please .... My understanding (I'm probably wrong!) is that to think of the Em in Dorian terms, the 'parent scale' would be D Major. So to think of the relationship, at this stage, with that Em and the A major chord - am I right in thinking we are working with the Key of D major, with the Em chord being built on the 2nd interval and the D major bing built on the 5th interval? This is all assuming you are working with one key of course! Hope the makes sense. Edit: I've just seen a flaw in my thinking! In the situation I describe, you wouldn't be using the A major scale when dealing with the A major chord - you'd be using the mixolydian - as it'd be built on the 5th interval. So I'm now guessing that these two chords are not strictly from the same key? Interesting stuff. 2nd Edit!!: Just worked thorough day 3 - you flatted the 7. That part of the mystery solved!!! Sorry about this!

I missed your mistake yesterday but will keep a closer lookout in the future, in the meantime I’ll do what I usually do when I hit a sour note and move up or down a fret. Thanks for the fun lesson Dave. Keep on keeping on 😎👍
