I agree. I had never had any serious experience with romance until I'm 22, and my first experience was a situationship, in which I was extremely emotionally invested. Needless to say, it left me devastated and I went through the worst 3 months of my life. Though I cannot say I "treasure" the experience - because it indeed wounded me deeply and left me with so many unresolved issues, I still have to admit I have grown and learned a lot in terms of romance. Until now I still haven't had my first boyfriend, but what I went through was both destructive and enriching.

My insecurities come from not knowing and being a perfectionist. I'm scared of looking stupid, I'm afraid of embarrassing myself, I don't like making mistakes, I don't like not knowing everything that might happen. i hope you recognize that you too are a human being, who is capable of making mistakes. it’s totally okay for you to not know stuff, because that is how we learn new things. not knowing stuff is what drives us to learn, omniscience is not meant for humans. i’m all about aiming for the sky but trying to be perfect is like setting yourself up for dissatisfaction. i think you should try treating yourself like you would treat someone you love, meaning you would never view their mistakes as embarrassments, failures or imperfections. i hope you recognize that you not knowing something is the most human thing a human can do. i hope this message finds you in peace and happiness. i wish you well on this journey!
@williamjamesmoriarty96282 жыл бұрын
@@fatimarehmannn Wow! Thank you very much for your kind words. I don't really know why I'm like this. I think one of the things I became aware of that helped boost my confidence was the spotlight effect. We see ourselves as on a stage and the world is our personal audience. The fact is that we really don’t matter that much. People aren’t spending all of their time assessing us and judging us. Most people don’t really notice us. Realising this made me trust the choices I was making for myself.

This is so helpful and so useful! Another thing is, you know you have found true confidence and inner peace when even if you don’t necessarily like how you look that day and it isn’t your go to “confident” appearance, you still accept yourself and feel the same love for life and yourself as you would if you were doing what normally made u confident. I think confidence is also about, no matter how you happen to look, being okay and secure with yourself and accepting. Acceptance is as beautiful as confidence and forms itself into confidence. Of course that doesn’t mean don’t take pride in the things that make you feel confident (hair,clothes,the food you eat, working out ect.) But even when all that isn’t working for you one day, truly accepting that you are still just as worthy is beautiful. But of course we only have one life (depending on beliefs) so embrace what you love and make the most of the things that bring you confidence! And love yourself you were made for yourself and no one else enjoy it!🤍
