how great you are!:) I once had a street cat who was slightly promiscous and she broought home her first kittens very young. and in another 3 months another batch - 6. so we we had 8 all in all,, but they all got sick somehow. That was the biggest number I ever had in my life at the same time, usually just 1 at a time. It's curious how in the US you differentiate between ferral and stray/street cats. In fact, I would say a street cat to every cat out there, just some of them happen to be more cautious, or frightened, or proud - whatever.

Because our driveway is long and unpaved (a mile) people just snuck in at night and threw their cats out of the car. We now have cameras to identify who does this and the tapes including license plate numbers will be turned over to the cops. We have panthers, rattlesnakes, hawks, eagles and owls around here, all eat cats. Those are abandoned. Ferals are cats that were born and grew up never having any interaction with a human. Street cats are a mix of both.

I did summer work at a farm in Wisconsin when I was 17, and the old farmer at the end of day would would give the 200 - 300 cats a couple pails of milk. They were kept to hunt mice. Fat cats, skinny cats, every type of color, Even blind cats knew when it was feeding time!
