I like that Apple rolled back on their ultra-slim, no more ports mantra for pro grade machines. There was a Bloomberg article wich argued that product design improved since Jony Ive left… It says that without Steve Jobs’s moderating influence, Ive went too far in prioritizing form over function, and that this has since been corrected. I think the new MacBooks Pro show this.

It still has power but lately, I’ve been experiencing issues with it. I guess it’s time to let go to my old one and save one for another one. @@annikania2682 When the i9 MBPs were released their poor thermals and throttling issues were well documented. Apple was properly lit up for using the processor but not changing the case design to accommodate its cooling needs. So on that fact alone, everyone knew the i9s were going be a laggard when Apple silicone was unveiled. When the M1 was officially tested against the i7 / i9 into into ad nauseam by 100s of reviewers last year, the outcome was clear. The M1 is the new benchmark to test new chips against. Yup. What people don’t realize is that when using apps that are optimized for M1 they destroy any PC laptop on the market and even some higher end desktop PCs. All while using less then half the power, running on battery, and not getting hot. Most so far have been Rosetta. The best have used metal, which is really all you need. For example, Baldur’s Gate III is only slightly better with a native binary. With steam now accepting universal binaries, we’ll see. But it really is not cost effective for game devs to compile for arm when intel works just fine. But many dev’s use OpenGL for Mac and are unwilling to do Metal. Market share would have to increase big time for that to change.

you can resell the new Macbooks will little lost. Perhaps you can even make money if the global supply chain delay and lack of microchip continue for a long time.

@@slurpieassist8832 you can say Apple is sponsering the KZbinrs with the refund policy :)

Appreciate the timestamps! I'm looking forward to the comparison between 16" 24 Core M1 Max 32GB (basically the minimal upgrade to a Max chip) VS the maxed out 16" 32 Core M1 Max 64GB.

It's weird how we are all so excited to see Apple brings back old design components. Nevertheless, new Macbook Pro lineup is great. Can't wait to see how other brands react to this.

Thank you for the comparison Max! The New MacBook Pro's brings you to a whole new experience, Experience that I want to experience! I've been saving up for a new laptop for my studies and should be getting one this year but many problems came. The money I saved for almost a year went to household expenses.

I love how fast M1 Pro is so much faster than the "old" 2020 i5. No way someone would pay $1699 to get a 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD laptop that is so much slower than the base M1 PRO at $1999.
@Rundismutti20013 жыл бұрын
Dude, you wouldnt experience any difference except your mind, solely based on the “instinct“ for buying new stuff from Apple, which you dont really need. Stop this nonsense and be real hosts….

@@Rundismutti2001 You suppose someone would upgrade to the new version. I was talking about buying a new laptop (not upgrade).
