@gr33dyglutton7 күн бұрын
I remember going into that fight Holm was being written off and Rousey's victory was but a formality. Rhonda was supposed to take advantage of holm's lack of ground game and takedown defense and get a first round armbar. Rousey's head was full of the smoke that everyone was pumping about her hands, after she knocked out brawler Correia. It gave Rousey false confidence she could stand with Holm and after Holm stuffed some takedown attempts Rousey wanted to stand with the former boxer and got a reality check. Very satisfying after Rousey's bad behavior at the weigh-in faceoff.

Anderson Silva is never considered or mentioned in the G.O.A.T. conversation. Middleweight was the weakest division in the UFC during his reign as champ. He used performance-enhancing drugs. He was a poor ambassador for the sport too. Prime Anderson Silva wouldn't last 5 minutes with the current 185 lbers. He gets smashed by anybody in the top five roster @ 185. Georges St-Pierre was king at welterweight. Bones Jones has somewhat redeemed himself. He hasn't tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in quite some time.

I used to be the biggest simp for Anderson Silva, but the guy started acting like a complete fool. He straight up stopped fighting & stopped trying & sabotaged his whole career & legacy. The guy could almost just choose to end a fight at will & just finish his opponent on command. I don't think his downfall is talked about enough because it's not that he got old, it's that he had some sort of psychological issue that kept him from even wanting to be great & be a real fighter. One of the biggest disappointments that I've ever witnessed in sports. He's still revered as a legend, but he didn't even come close to reaching the potential that he had in his career. Not even close.
