Before Howard Terminal park in Oakland, there was Cisco field in Fremont Californa, just down the road from Oakland. It was a joint venture between the A's and Cisco to develop land owned by Cisco on the east side of the bay into a 35,000 seat open air stadium and shopping and residential complex. It would have opened up in 2010. But like most corrupt Bay Area cities, the city of Fremont tried to shake down the A's for millions in infrastructure fees and other bribes.

I think the Tampa Bay Rays are just trying to torture as many stadium architects as they can. You should check out the Frank Lloyd Wright Point Park Civic Center design. There are some detailed designs based on his sketches. The facility which would have been located at Pittsburgh's Point would have housed an Opera House, Sports Center, and multiple movie theaters. They even design buildings over the river on a large double bridge. It looked like something out of the Jetsons and was completely unfeasible but looked cool. #3 "Welcome to Sperm Cell Stadium" Also, for #2, I love that second Rays concept right off the channel. That seems like the best location as it's near where the Lightning plays, plenty of people are around that area all the time. That's the best place for the Rays to stay in Tampa The Minnesota one was actually one the Twins wanted in the late 1990s, to be located along the riverfront near the current site of U. S. Bank Stadium. It was to be financed using proceeds from slot machines at a horse racing track. The slot machine bill didn't pass, and ultimately Target Field was built in a different part of downtown Minneapolis, with the public funding coming from a 0.15% sales tax in Hennepin County. Really wish they had built the green-roofed A’s stadium, that would’ve been incredible Great content. Love your videos You should’ve included Armour Field…which was planned in Chicago before Comiskey II was built. #8 Stadium 51 looks like a sunken AT&T stadium. Especially with the dual arches. The Dodger Dome would have been just as relevant today as the Astrodome is. # 7 reminds me a little of Petco Field in San Diego! If you want to see a design idea for The Ray's new stadium just go to your bathroom and lift the toilet seat lid up. Ta Da is the design for the new stadium they had a few years ago. The roof opening up instead of across is just dumb. I guess when attendance is in the toilet they can say they are actually in one. The Orlando Dream Project aerial view makes it look like a used discarded condom 3 THAT’S THE BEST PLACE FOR THE RAYS TO STAY IS CLEARWATER BEACH FLORIDA CLEARWATER IS A PART OF TAMPA BAY First yay. Great video as always. Your consistency is crazy Howard Terminal still has a very good chance of happening. Your rendering at 5:51 was made by an A’s fan in 2016 it was never official.

Stadium 51 is awesome, as are the Howard's Terminal parks. Now if someone took a wrecking ball and some dynamite to that concrete outhouse in Montreal and put Stadium 51 downtown, that would be amazing. Then again you could also put it in Vancouver or even Calgary. Baseball is a bigger deal up here than most Americans are aware

I remember there was a pretty nice 35,000 seat stadium design floated for the Rays back in 2012 that had Spanish colonial architecture surrounding it. Always thought it was unique.

@depressedginger, I didn’t know (or forgot) about the Toronto Trillium Dome - very interesting. I’m glad it didn’t get built! Also, I think you should have included Labatt Park, the late 90’s outdoor stadium proposal that could have saved the Montréal Expos. Also (pt. 2), it would have been nice for you to mention and credit the architects of all these designs.

There was a design in the early late 90's for a different version of what's currently in place in Detroit with Ford Field and Comerica Park next two each other, there was supposed to be a moveable roof that could go back and forth between the football stadium and the baseball stadium across the street.

Personally, I think the sports complex in Philly makes perfect sense. While it's not downtown, it is still within a city grid. Plenty of parking and numerous ways to get in and out of the area.. What are your thoughts?

@@ousamaabdu794 I love just driving to the sports complex and know that I am going right to the parking lot. Philly is one of the last cities where most of the fans go to focus on the game and not the view or entertainment surrounding.

When I saw that Florida stadium, the first thing I thought of was the Olympic Stadium. However, it would be better because: 1) Not designed by someone with no knowledge of the climate and 2) Not built by one of the most corrupt construction companies on the planet (SNC Lavelin).

There was a proposed design of a new Oakland ballpark that was had features of Chicago's old Comiskey Park..... It had a smaller capacity and some "obstructed view" seats in the lower level, to bring the upper level closer. It would have been a great marriage of old and new.

The Cleveland Hexatron doesn’t look half bad. The first Oakland Athletics rendering is beautiful while the Brooklyn Dome one looks so weird, it has a Superdome-like design but then it’s so weird with the inward roof. The Stadium 51 design for Las Vegas I always thought was the best one and still should be used. The Trilium design looks a hybrid of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Tropicana Field. For the Miami Marlins, I think they did well with their current stadium. Nothing can be definitively judged with them until they finally begin to have a perennial playoff team, then we can see how things are going to be in terms of attendance at their stadium.
@reesejabs18955 ай бұрын
The thing with Tropicana Field is that it reminds me of a circus big top tent. I think it was an idea that kind of flopped.

#3 I went at length on the future projects one about what I really think is crazy about this stadium, but I'll repeat it -- the location is a traffic nightmare's _nightmare._ Aquatica is more popular than one would think during the summer given their owners, that's no longer the northern limit of Things You Can See On I-Drive given the fact that SeaWorld is starting to get Disneylandlocked (tm) and yet it's close, you can see, to where the _residential_ area of Williamsburg starts. It's insane to add more to that interchange. (An explanation of a term -- I actually lived on International Drive within energetic walking distance of the employee's gate for SeaWorld for a few years, so I know the area. I _still_ consider the KFC at the southeast corner of Central Florida Parkway and I-Drive 'my' KFC. So I remember when there was pretty much nothing on the southwest corner as opposed to four fast food places, a gas station and mini-mall. That's the phenomenon I call Disneylandlocked, where if a theme park or similar attraction has open space around it in any way... eventually, it'll be swallowed up by hotels, restaurants and all that. It happened worst to the original Disneyland, and is why Disney bought so _much_ land for Disney World.)
