The massage on the belly makes sense. When our female cat was having kittens she had 1 and then her labor stalled for about 3 hours. For some reason I decided to rub her belly. Within 2 minutes she had kitten #2. She again stalled and I did it again. Kitten #3 was born a minute later. For kitten #4 I didn't wait as long as between #2 & #3 and he was born quickly. I notice when I massage my belly I start having contractions.
