I watched this video a few weeks before I went into Labour with my son last December. I was unable to go on any courses of hypnobirthing so this was a god send to see. I practised these techniques whenever I could. When the day arrived, I remember telling myself to make sure I did what I’d learnt in your video. I did. I had no pain relief apart from a bit of gas and air and the midwifes where amazed at how calm the whole labour was. I have to thank you for this amazingly clear and easy to remember video as I really believe I’d learnt more viewing this then any course. Highly recommend for any expectant mums out there who are afraid of labour as this truly overcame my fears on the day. Brilliant!

I'm in my hospital bed right now, been induced last night, got my contractions that have been quite annoying pain wise, like a bad period pain... been doing this for 8 minutes and literally feel no pain now for like 10 mins, even managed to go to the toilet without being in pain from the pressure? I'm so optimistic right now! Don't need to practise for weeks on end obviously 😊 Thank you!

My belly has been so tight and been getting very uncomfortable I am very amazed that I tried it for the first time and when I opened my eyes it was like I had taken 10 pounds off my body! Thank you!! Wowza. I'm due with my first in 1 month (very excited) and haven't felt any fear at all about it. My mum has always been very positive and matter-of-fact about birth so I feel confident. This video is wonderful, and will most certainly help for my home birth! Whilst breathing, I had such a strange visualisation. That my body was a gigantic swollen marshmallow, but my hands and facial features were teeny tiny. Even after I opened my eyes, I felt very strange (and relaxed). I think I've had this visualisation as a child?! It really reminded me of something from long ago that I couldn't put my finger on. Anyway, gosh, thank you so much! I will eagerly watch your other videos to gain as much information as I can. :)

First time trying this, both of you have such a lovely calming presence! I'm finding it really hard to keep breathing during the whole count though, like I run out of room in my lungs by the time I've got to 5? Maybe because my bump is getting in the way.

Sorry, silly question - At what point do you go from the shorter breath (4 to 7)to the longer (7-7) breath? Thanks

You can use either or. Or transition when you start to feel more relaxed and its easier to stretch your breath xx

Aishat Ola-Said I was the same when I started practising my relaxation techniques and breathing, I felt like I was always running out of air. Just keep practising as often as you can (daily if possible) and you'll notice your lungs becoming stronger and being able to take in more air as well as you being able to slow your breathing right down :)

Hi there. With the first breathing technique, does it matter if I breathe out through my mouth instead? I'm afraid I find it impossible to regulate the rate of breathing out through my nose (it's all gone out by count 4 or 5 and there's nothing left so I'm just holding my breath!) Only able to breathe out for 7 if I do so through my mouth...?

They are interchangeable. The 4/7 takes you from stressed to relaxed... the 7/7 keeps you in deep relaxation! x
