Best snare low tuning vid I've seen. I hate snare ring and you got rid of all of it even before you added the Evans E ring. Great job.

The app is called DrumtunePro :) Also, been wanting to remake these and suggest some new tuning frequencies. Try 400hz on bottom and 215-235 on top and let me know what you think! Jared

Snare ring is awesome. You must be a 15 wallet and moongel blasted on your snare kind of dude.

@@kommi1974 No Kommi, for me it is a Sensory Defensiveness issue, something that is neurologically based. I know that lots of drummers agree with you and love the overtones.

Very interesting... gonna have to try this with a 6.5x14" brass snare I have. Hadn't heard of that app, so I'll give it a try. Thanks!

I have that exact snare drum and LOVE it.

what about snare beds? I try to maintain the even hoop, so the 4 lugs directly adjacent to the wires have to be lower in pitch by a tone or so

Great tutorial. I think it’s important to note that this kind of tuning really depends on the playing scenario. While I love the sound, I hate the feel at this tuning. If it’s a live gig with no mics this is incredible. If you have a good sound engineer you can get that fat sound at higher batter frequencies. I’ve had a very similar sound at 245hz with the right eq and compression.

Totally agree with tuning for the scenario, Enginner, type of music, and room:) I’ve had guys who love this tuning and others who don’t. i’ve actually been living at 400 Hz on Reso and 225 to 235 Hz on batter recently and loving it. Nothing better than a great engineer 🙏

Loooks like no difference vs ludwig black brass same size. Any thoughts?

I’m not sure, but probably just subtle differences

Did you ever dig into this any more? Curious how close a black brass is to a black beauty.

Hello. Could you give me the complete specs of your snare drum. Brand, size, head names etc. I liked the sound.

This is 14x8 Ludwig Black Beauty. Remo Powerstroke 4 on top, Evans Hazy 300 on bottom, Gibralter 42 strand snare wires :)

I’m just needing to stress that 360hz is very very tight. Please be careful when doing this. I tried it with a brand new Remo resonant head and it exploded on me.
@HendyBrah Жыл бұрын
Hey Gabriel! Sorry to hear that :( it’s definitely tight, but for the most part heads should be able to handle it. I’ve been wanting to remake the videos to show some other options. Lately I’ve been taking the bottom head to 400hz and sometimes higher and have really loved the results.

Good video. Love that low tuned Indie rock sound. 350khz on the bottom head and 170 on the top... Is it safe to say the top head is basically an octave lower?

This is cool. It's similar to Elevation Worship tuning. What settings do you normally tune your snare to?
@n9ne-2 жыл бұрын
elevation plays 250batter/380reso hz
