I met him a couple of times, shook his hand and wished him the best of luck during the US OPen '03 and '06....it was like meeting a young Czar. He's striking!

Its hard to hear, seems like old memories just overflowed her mind "Marat was left in Spain by himself, not knowing the language and continued hard on his training.. His parents stayed in Moscow and worried about him.." and then his mom says: "Its hard to tell right now..." and starts crying

Сильно. Сижу рыдаю. Иногда для будущности своих детей приходится делать сильные шаги, переступать через материнское чувство привязанности и желание держать своих детей под крылом. Блин, это сильно и оно того стоило.

@kyuubiyura he defeated Agassi when he was 18, Sampras in the 2000 US Open final, Federer in the 2005 Australian Open semi-final while Fed was on a 20+ games winning streak against top 10 players. When he played his best he outclasses everyone else.
@23NaLi13 жыл бұрын
If you think only talent leads to 16 grand slams you're very mistaken. Safin had as much talent as fed but the reason fed was the greatest is because he excelled at all the other aspects of the game too, including mental fortitude, staying healthy, etc...
@saz6950 Жыл бұрын
He was not never passionate about the sport , then no tactical mindset like fed and lack of proper lifestyle. No doubt one of the most intimidating opponent for everyone

I'm not sure how many players were able to beat both players. Agassi defeated both of them too : Federer in 2001's US Open (R16) and Sampras at the Australian Open (1995 and 2000) and at Roland Garros (QF in 1992).

@juls14398 ай бұрын
that he was talented but capricious, it was difficult for her, as a mother, to train him (she is a tennis coach), so they sent him to study in Spain and missed him

@@saz6950 1:12 The reporter asks if he had an opportunity to attend a tennis tournament in Spain. Marat says no because there were no tournaments held in the town he was staying in. Reporter then asks: "why not go to another town?" Marat: "I have no time. And no money (or "they give me no money" - hard to make out, the sound is indistinct).
