Enjoyed your video, we’ve had rain here in Indiana the last three or four days and our snow is gone. Been listening to sand hill cranes heading north all week, so spring indeed is in the air. You’ve given me courage to take snow tires off car. Have a good day.

Hi GP, I did the same thing yesterday. Removed my blower, (rear mount) and installed the blade. Scraped the driveway down so the sun could do it's work with the dark color of the gravel. Removing the blower this early in the season is often a gamble here in Central Vermont, but fingers crossed! Now, we start (looking forward???) to several weeks of mud season. Terrible. Oh well, we have to endure the mud to get to our three months of summer! Welcome back. Peace.

Good afternoon David! Congrats! Pretty exciting. Have fun and enjoy it. If I may offer, when you check the hydraulic fluid, you will notice it is difficult to see because it is so clear. The dealer's mechanic taught me a trick. When you pull the dipstick out, press it onto the back of your hand. That way you will see the fluid level from the dipstick easier. Hope that helps. Let me know how it is going from time to time. Cheers and have a great week!

Another great video GP! Weight is the primary reason I went with the L2501 instead of a B2650, but it still has it’s limits just like you found with yours today. Like you said, learning to work within them is the key to success. It might take longer but I enjoy my tractor time and you seem to as well so that’s not always a bad thing. I hope the weather works in your favor! We’ve got a couple feet on the ground and ice everywhere but it’s starting to melt in the daytime so there’s hope. Just crossing my fingers that it doesn’t melt too fast! Cheers!

Subbed. Thanks for the well made videos! I just got my first Kubota (B2710 w/ 400 hours). Came with loader and deck, and I am having a heated Curtis cab installed and will grab a rear blower soon. It wont be up here for another week or so, but I am too excited. So for now I just keep watching people move snow in vids like these (though it makes the wait even harder)...on my 3rd year in a place that averages 170 inches of snow per year (200+ this year) I finally decided to stop paying people $2500 each winter to plow my properties and will do it myself. I got the time, just never had the funds together until recently. Plow trucks are worthless after the first few feet fall in town because there is nowhere left to put it so buckets and blowers are required. I will probably be clearing all my neighbors too for free the first year because I will be too excited to get off it :D Anyway thanks for taking the time to make and upload an informative vids!

Nice job GP... Getting it down to hardpack ( ice ) is key. Mother Nature can do her job now, assuming it doesn't snow again! I too have a Land Pride scraper, mine is 84", rotates 360°, tilts & has offset. I never use the darn thing & in all honesty, I have failed miserably over the years trying to utilize it. However I have never used it for scraping down to hardpack like this. Starting at 07:00 sharp this morning I pushed out a weeks worth of on & off again snow with drifts, hopefully for the last time! Took me (4) hrs., normally takes (5) hrs. Here in N. Central Vermont, spring was indeed in the air today, hit 46° but has since dropped to 43°. I was intending to put the scraper up for sale, however, perhaps I'll have another go at it for scraping down to ice & on my return trip I will scoop it up with the bucket & do my usual push offs. The primary difference of your method versus my method is snow banks, or in your case a lack thereof. I love that snow blower! All the best, Bill on the Hill, Vermont, USA... :~)

Hi BOTH! I am still learning how to use it properly but certainly have improved a lot since last winter. It really does work great in these conditions. The blower can only float on top of the packed down snow ( the constant snowmobiles going down the driveway of course don't help. LOL) but the blade really digs in well to get up that extra snow the blower misses. No snowbanks - so thankful for that. Cheers and stay warm and safe!

We check the fluids on every machine we own before use. A 5 minute delay on a project is better than a 10 thousand dollar repair bill. In our area of Michigan it's been an ongoing problem with equipment vandalism like oil being drained overnight it or fuel drained . We have large farm equipment and it's very expensive to own but even more expensive to replace .Nice video I enjoy your content and it's very informative. You should look into tractor time with Tim he has johndeere compact tractors and does some great videos on his machines.

The blower did exceptionally well for as wet and heavy as that snow was. I think it is great that you check your oil before you use the tractor. Most people don't know how to even check their oil or they are too lazy too. I bought a used truck back in the summer and I checked the oil in it after every time I drove for a long time. Now I am to where I trust it and don't check it that often.

Good Afternoon GP...hahahaha you guessed it !! My favorite portion of the video was 3:53 to 4:20....lololol. Of course, being the gentleman I am, I won't poke the bear...LOL. Now if you had the box blade with the scarifier teeth to drop a few inches below the cutting edge to gouge the impacted ice without gouging the gravel..... But then, the huge chunks of ice hitting the blower wheel would shake things up a bit too... Well...what's the chance of about 14" of fresh cover the week AFTER you remove the snowblower..... But that would make a nice story to tell. Great video once again sir. Thank you for putting it out there GP !!

Sunny side up and rubber side on the ground huh.... Did you know that snow chains have a lot in common with automotive air conditioning GP? In reality, a fellow doesn't NEED either one, but in actuality they both make life a little more pleasant on the beholder.... (Philosophical point of the day...) But its easy to see there's no real difference at all between the two especially when you get a little uuuhhhhh....'creative' in the justification department. HEY GP ever think about adding an offset adjustable rear blade. That's what I use in the UP of Michigan. Blower on the front then offset the rear blade set to 2 feet to keep the snow back. Chains really help on the rear two passes and done on a 2 mile drive way.
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
Good morning Rick! Thanks for the suggestion. I have a rear blade and often use it at the same time as you have suggested ( there are a few videos from January February timeframe on the channel if you want to check them out). It works really well, depending on the conditions. I bought a simple basic blade but now, as I have learned to use it , I wish that I had purchased an offset blade. I can manually unbolt the moldboard to move it over but wish I had bought one that simply swings sideways with a pin lock. Nice to hear from folks with a long driveway like myself. Yours is super long! LOL. Cheers and all the best!

Forgot Gord, if you do decide to go with a set of rear chains you will most likely need rear wheel spacers to get the tires away from the inside of fenders. Not a huge job to do but I would recommend a Kubota wheel spacer kit and it includes all the necessary studs, machined spacers and hardware with instructions that are easy to follow. As a bonus It will make the tractor wider and more stable. If you need help or have any questions with how its done let me know I installed the spacer kit and chains on mine a month ago and its well worth it. By the way I purchased the four link chains and will be adding an extra link between each four links as the there is a huge gap between the links on four link chains. I ordered another set and will split those chains and add a link every two links. To save you this work I would go with the two link right of the start.
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
Good morning Michel and thanks very much for the detail above. I really appreciate it. Looks like I will get some chains for next season for sure. I think all you good folks have convinced me. LOL. It sounds like the wheel spacer kit can be left on all year round - is that correct? I haven't looked into them yet, but I assumed they were just for using chains but it sounds like perhaps I can leave them on all the time (?). Thanks again Michel. Cheers!
@justinopinion4016
@justinopinion4016 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gord, you would be correct, they go on and stay on. With the kit you get new studs with lock washers and nuts. On my machine you have to remove the two studs which came from factory and replace with all new studs. This kit will also aid in widening the back end which will make the tractor more stable and less likely to flip on its side. I say to get a Kubota spacer kit because it is designed and approved by Kubota, not a after market kit. Although I have heard good things from one of the after market kits, I chose Kubota because of the off chance something goes wrong. Better be safe than sorry.

I was able to get my drive and road right after it snowed Sunday night before it had a chance to get too heavy, but as for taking off the blower, we still have about 3feet of snow in the woods here, so I'm going to hold off on mine for now.

Another great video! I have really enjoyed watching your channel! On the question of using the blade at low speed I would join the people saying chains. That extra traction would help to keep you moving. Another option is loaded tires (not sure if you have them loaded already) since that extra weight down in the tires can make a real difference. Got to compare two tractors of the same model with the only difference being one had extra weight on the tires. The one with that extra weight was a towing monster compared to the other one.

I always look forward to your videos to me the tips are always educational to everyone I do have a few questions. My first question is Did you consider using sand on your driveway after you bladed it? I thought of that because of the concern about how the weather was going to be and if you would have ice or not. My second question Is are you going to show tips on how to store the snowblower and blade when you put them away for the year? I was thinking that could be a good idea on how to store those things properly so they will be good to go the next time you need them I enjoyed the camera views you had on the snowblower that was very interesting I have never seen that view before

Good morning BRL! Thanks for the note this morning. I have never heard of that before. No rules bent or anything- that was the unit they sold with the tractor when I bought it. I have several subscribers who have b2601 machines and also have the same blower. Do you know what model of blower is authorized (or sold with) a B2601 in the US? Thanks for your help.

On a side note. I saw exhaust markings on the rear of the blower. That is one thing I dislike about my 2601. It leaves marks on my concrete floor. Have you any ideas on how to “fix” this?
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
Hey good day Erick. No, and I have not heard of any except a few folks have modified the muffler and added a bent extension to it. Not sure how that works with the warranty etc but not sure how to stop that otherwise. I have quite a bit of exhaust there to clean up soon. Sorry I couldn't help more. Cheers!

i want a B2601 so bad. i actually checked one out at my local Kubota dealers near me and if i had the down payment i would have taken it home that day. lol thank you for all of your video they have been great help. Also does that blower use a Kconnect like your lx2610? i really like that setup a lot. looks easy to attach.

GP Now that youve owned the 2601 for awhile do you wish you you would have bought a 3350 with a cab? Also is that a commercial series Kubota snowblower? I’m building a home in he UP of Michigan with a gravel road that’s about 4 city blocks long and I don’t want to under or over buy.Your videos are wonderful and so helpful so thank you. Cheers

Good morning Rick and happy that the videos help a little. Honest, I would buy the same tractor again. For my small property it seems to fit the bill - 99% of the time. If I had a bigger property, I would definitely consider the 3350 for sure. Although I have to put up with the black flies through part of the summer and the cold in the winter, I still overall prefer the open station. I can weave through the forest and don't have to worry about branches etc. I think if I was older and much more experienced with a tractor, I would certainly consider getting a model with a cab. Over the course of the year, I spend most of my time in the forest so knowing I have nothing to break, and the narrow footprint it gives me, is good for now while I am still new and learning how to use it. If I spent most of my time in the open areas and less time in the deep of the forest, then I would have got the cab. I would certainly welcome the air and heat and protection from bugs a cab will bring. LOL. Long answer, sorry about that. Congratulations on the new home- that is great. I don't think that snowblower is a commercial one but I don't know for sure. It was just the one they sold me but it sure works very well so far. Very happy with it's performance. Hope that helped a little . Cheers and good luck!

"Ne'er cast a clout till May be out." Okay, May might be a bit of a stretch, but I know that first whiff of Spring is not to be trusted. Southwestern Quebec, here. My sister has a birthday mid-April - the blower stays on (or at least nearby) until then.

Hey GP, for interest I typed in cab for b2601's on Amazon and to my surprise there was a vinyl one for just under $1000. Only one review.maybe suffice with doors off for winter snow blowing. Just a thought. No idea about the company or product quality.

The funny thing is, amazon is selling the original cab company. I wonder how snow dust would be on the window and you may have to buy a 12v heater at Princess Auto to keep the fog down or just remove the doors. I have a snowblower walk behind one with a vinyl enclosure and I find it works awesome, you actually over heat in it even though it's an open concept enclosure.

Man that kubota blower is far superior to my John Deere front mount. Same HP on my blower tractor as this but yours just throws it! Can’t justify buying another tractor because of it, but when the time comes to put the ole Deere in the trees, I will be looking at the kubota line.

Good morning D2! Thanks for the comment. I don't have any other experience, as you know being my first tractor, but yes, it kind of surprises me how far it throws the snow - not sure why it does, but glad it does. LOL. Even in yesterday's heavy wet packing snow, it still throws it quite a distance. Thanks for watching and for saying hi this morning. Have a great week!

Hi, I have a Kubota BX25d with front mounted snow blower, what I did is add strips of rubber Balin Belt to the impellor blades of snow blower with (2) 1/4 20 bolts with washers and lock washers and nuts to each blade, it takes up any clearance in blower housing and throws wet slush snow with no problem, this engine is only 23hp and will throw wet snow or slush 40ft with no problem.I also spray snow blower housing with Pam Cook Spray before each use, keeps snow and slush from sticking. I first did this on the walk behind snow blowers with success and did this to the snowblower on the Kubota. I have weighted tires and chains on tractor with wide mount spacers on both axels. Does not bog down in any condition.

alfred febbroriello, thanks for the tip. I have been using w10-40 for my pre lubricant in the chute. I will definitely be adding some rubber belting to the ends of the impeller blades. I’ve seen this on walk-behind blowers but good to know you can do it on a larger blower. Thanks again!

I notice you have the same issue that I have with my Deere compact and a front blower. That is exhaust soot collecting on the left blower housing and hitch area. On mine this can sometimes warm the blower housing enough to cause snow to stick inside the housing. The cure for me was a $6.00 piece of 45-degree angle high-temperature silicon hose from Ebay. It just slips on the end of the exhaust pipe and redirects the exhaust a wee bit more to the left. This not only keeps it clear of the snow blower and hitch but also keeps all the soot off by loader frame during the summer.
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
Good day Joe. Sounds like a good fix as today I had amok of snow stuck inside the blower housing. A fe other folks suggested silicon spray too. Doesn't;t help with the soot but at apparently will minimize the sticking. Thanks for the idea kind sir. Have a great week!
@eosjoe565
@eosjoe565 5 жыл бұрын
@@GPOutdoors I've tried the silicon spray and also a special spray made just for snow blowers (which is on the expensive side). Neither really did much good for me. Keeping the exhaust off the housing did the most good. I know it's just a tractor but cleaning that black soot off is no easy task.

Hi GP, great vids, Eastern Ontario here and going through the same scenario. Just watching and noticed some wheel spin when blading. Are your tires loaded on the rear? May I suggest a set of two link tire chains and you would see a huge difference. I have a B3300SU and the chains and loaded tires made all the difference in the world. Just a suggestion. ;-) Go Kubota!!

Hey good morning Ryan. I have never used the bucket to remove snow as I have always had the blower but that's a good question. I like the rear blade to scrape down the driveway and don't think the bucket would do as effective a job but honestly not sure. All the best!

I am in the land of muck and mud here in Western Massachusetts. I know half the fun of driveway clearing is trial error and experimentation...but knowing what we know now, I would have seen if Guy was available to help. He could have left the blade on his tractor and the two of you could have tagteamed the driveway together.

If you check the oil every time you use the tractor and never needed any then all of a sudden one day you need to add oil, I would be a little concerned. I would be looking where the oil went. I know that machinery isn’t quite like a car and consumes a little fluids but that seems a little odd. I would think you would see the level drop gradually.
