My heart dropped when it was majority purple at the pour... And then the magic happened. This piece is absolutely breathtaking and well done you for having the artistic insight to add the black because it just came alive! Utterly striking and gorgeous. I would LOVE to see this on the wall or on display if you kept it or if you sold it could the owner show us??

Thank you for all you do, I love your work, I love you, I love your music, I wish you all the best💕

This is INSANELY GOOD! To get such a defined result on a big scale canvas is almost impossible.. This is absolutely stunning
@GinaDeLuca6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Big canvases are a different animal, but I think I prefer them to smaller. I think there is more opportunity to control composition.
@idopoliti6 жыл бұрын
Gina DeLuca yes, well... with smaller canvases it's way easier to cover them all and get a good result. With big scale canvases, there's just much more room for mistakes, and the colors mix too much and get muddy very easily. I was also shocked by how much purple came out of there and still, u got so many colors besides the purple .. it really is just BEAUTIFUL.
@idopoliti6 жыл бұрын
Gina DeLuca do u have an advice as for how to not get the colors too mixed up? Once they mix too much u don't get a lot of contrast

I LOVE this! I’m new to pouring. I have a few questions. You talk about your mixture being 10% Floetrol, 90% water. What’s the ratio of paint to this mixture? Approximately 1 to 1? Also, when you put your base coat down, is the white Gesso or just white paint with the mixture? Anyone who can answer these questions I will appreciate. Thank you!
@dianamcdaniel88805 жыл бұрын
Bryin Smoot the Floetrol & water is an individual choice. I haven't tried it myself, but I do add both Floetrol & water to my paints. I'm relatively new too(within 6mo), but you'll get the hang of it. The base coat is painted whatever color you choose and should be a bit thinner than the paint. The ratios depend upon the paints you're using, as well as what you choose for a pouring medium. Crafting paints are 1:1, and tube paints are 2:1/3:1 depending upon their pigment & how thick they are. White Gesso is used to prep a canvas that's to be reused, a surface other than canvas, etc...as a rule your canvas will come pre gessoed. I hope I was able to help you. These are things I wish someone had taken the time to share with me in the beginning. Lol. Good luck! I just opened my group capped, Peace, Love, & Pour Art, maybe I will see you there

Gina, I have been following you along with another one who does beautiful work. I have done everything possible to make the large cells with this other woman's advice, using silicone I have come to the conclusion I am just not one of those people who will ever have those beautiful big cells that you all get. I have tried for months on end as I am not a quitter and she made it look so easy. You are both so talented I watch your videos over and over to be sure I hear every last word out of your mouths. I want so bad, to do art like you. Today I decided to try your way....although it looked way to beautiful to be that simple. I was in total shock to see the big cells I got from NOT using silicone and only Floetrol! Still not as beautiful as yours but 100times better than what I was getting before. You are so clear on what and how to use everything.....Thank you...I cant wait to do another and post it on Facebook along with all the other beauties!

Before you toss those paint tubes, cut them open and get out the last of the paint. I've discovered that there is almost an ounce of paint that hides where you can't squeeze it out, but you can scoop it out! Love this one as much as the other one. And as I'm anti silicone, I do appreciate the cells as well. I'm going to have to go back to Floetrol, which I decided to step away from after all the clumps! My mix evidently wasn't as good as yours... but I'm learning.

I have a box of empty bottles waiting for me to do that. 😂 also, I use a piece of nylon stocking to strain my Floetrol. You can add to Floetrol bottle with rubber band or, what I do is add Floetrol to a smaller bottle with a flip cap and put stocking between cap and bottle. No more lumps!

@shaunhaggerty26916 жыл бұрын
Hi Gina, absolutely beautiful pour. Just to clarify, do you use 1 part paint to 2 parts floetrol and then thin this mixture down with the 90% 10% water floetrol mix? Or is it just the paint thinned with the water floetrol mix?
@taniaclass48056 жыл бұрын

I am confused as well- first mix the 10% floetrol with 90% water, then add 2 parts that to one part paint?
@rockadvice6 жыл бұрын
It sounds like she initially has the paint and floetrol 1 part paint to 2 parts floetrol, and then if it needs thinning, she uses a water mixture that is 10 % floetrol to the 90% water.

What kind of sorcery is THIS? Let me get this straight- this is tube paint .. 1 part paint and 1part Floetrol.. in each color including the white background and that’s it? Any alcohol? Paint consistency a little thinner then “ warm honey”? Absolutely mind blowing .. no words! 😶
@GinaDeLuca6 жыл бұрын
1 part paint: 2 part Floetrol. No alcohol.
@BlaizC6 жыл бұрын
Straight floetrol, right? Not the floetrol/water mixture you used to thin down that one color. Do you also add water to the mix? I use 1 part paint to 2 parts floetrol, and I have to use water to thin the LB and AL tube paints.

@elfiewilkins66396 жыл бұрын
Marta I doubt those 3 people hate her work. Most likely they have either little, or no knowledge about the element of art, what makes a painting a success or a failure. I also know that a great number of people are not able to feel a connection to abstract art. So they only admire work that they are able to recognize in in the outer world. Not the psyche.

Where did you say I could find a chart that gives the amount of paint needed for coverage?
@ceciliajacobs53466 жыл бұрын
Just times the size of the canvas (12x16 =192) plus extra for sides, so you would need approx. 200ml. of paint for a 12x16 canvas. That would be approx. 7 ozs (I would use 1 cup to make sure I had enough paint)
