Myriam for someone (like me) who has always struggled with math this video has been a real GIFT!!!!! Not only did it make sense to me but it also gave me the tools to go forward and have a means of computing for other sizes what I might need to mix!! Eternally grateful!!!! Edit: I also find your voice very soothing. Love these colors too.

Your paintings are NOT huge amounts of paint doing it's job all by itself, surprising the painter. You carefully choose only a few colors, you guide the paint over the canvas and decide where it goes. And after that you act like the artist you are, and complete the painting by different kinds of techniques. And you have a very sound attitude to cell forming. I really appreciate that! There are far too many videos on KZbin where every color shade in the shop is mixed together in quantities enough to paint the kitchen furniture. And they are cell maniacs! Cells are the only thing that matters- the more the merrier! The finished result more often than not looks like a canvas with smallpox. Composition and color scheme are of no importance to them. You are definitely my favorite teacher. Keep pouring, please !
@MyriamsNature
@MyriamsNature 7 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you so much Berit! I agree with you wholeheartedly ... And the really sad part about this cell obsession, is that beginners feel like failures if they don't achieve them. Somehow I think the joy of creativity gets lost in the obsession to make paint do something by itself. I very much appreciate your thoughtful and kind comment. I am so happy you enjoy this channel. May the paints be kind to you. 😊💕🎨

Wow, I agree 100% I figured I was just the odd one out for not being a fan of CELLSCELLSCELLS. A little bit of color popping is fun and interesting, but as you said, when it's too much, it looks like smallpox or some other "paint disease" lol. I don't like that look at all, I much, much prefer the smoother, more fluid mixing of colors. It's tempting to use a dozen different colors, and once in a while, sure, it's fun to get crazy and just throw down a bunch of paint and see what happens. But I also agree that carefully selecting fewer colors for a theme or specific mood, is a bit more respectable. Please feel free to check out my own KZbin channel and acrylic pour projects! I'm very new and would love some feedback and suggestions.

Myriam, this video is so helpful and the outcome is just stunning. What's inspired me most in viewing your videos is that the pour is the starting point and the person behind the pour does have artistic control over the outcome to some degree. Hello Miriam with an “I”! 😄 Thank you ever so much for this amazingly kind, thoughtful comment… It so made me smile! I absolutely view the pour as step one ... I love seeing what comes out of the cup but the real fun, I think, is seeing it as a puzzle almost... like pouring out puzzle pieces and trying to figure out how to get to the completed picture. 😊 I wish you endless fun and success with all of your pours! May you be blessed.

You are fantastic! I have watched so many videos about pouring and no one has taken the time to explain every little detail like you have. You provided the recipe, explained why you put lighter colors in the bottom of the cup, but my favorite is how you showed ways to manipulate and control the outcome of an art style that doesn't seem to have much control at all. Thank you so much for your time and patience. It's easy to see that you love what you do and your work reflects that love beautifully. Now I need to run to the store and get my supplies because you have inspired me.!!

Oh my gosh... I am thrilled to know that you are inspired to try this now. For me the pour is just the first step, I see it as a puzzle that I need to solve once I have it spread out in the canvas. Letting the paints have all the fun of "making" the painting feels less satisfying somehow so I suspect that taking charge will lead to lots more enjoyment and creativity for you! I wish you endless fun with this. Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful comment! 😊💕

I'm SO glad to hear how to measure the amount of paint to use per canvas! I love embellishing and playing with it after it's poured but I can see I've used too heavy a hand in what I've done. I love the delicate hand you use in adding paint, moving the edges and other things you do. I like to see something like this with a larger border, or negative space around the edges, mine tends to spread out then go over the edge! Keep painting and making videos- You're great at teaching because you speak evenly, don't use a lot of unnecessary talking and time, and it's easy to understand.

A most appreciate your explaining how to measure amount of paint needed for a painting as I live on a fixed income and don't want to use more than needed. The tip on what silicone you use and mixing well elinates coating problems later is also very helpful. I love the idea of using a pick comb for spreading the negative paint around as opposed to just puddling it and tilting to have it flow. It achieves the same effect with much less paint. Feathering the paint and dragging it into needed areas is also very useful. Using the torch on random areas where you'd like more cells is also an excellent idea. I deeply appreciate all the detailed information you shared. I've watched a lot of videos but few people take the time to explain the exact measurements they use and often am unsure of just what was used and why. I loved this video and look forward to watching more.

TFS! I loved your tips and your pour. TY so much for the formula to know how much paint to use. The waste of paint in pouring, was something that always bothered me. I felt I was either wasting paint or wasting canvases, when I would try to use the left over and/or drippings on another surface to avoid wasting it. I enjoy it much more using your theory. Now I can use whatever colors I want and I don't feel I must use up what is left from an overmix or overpour. I also like your tip of mixing up the silicone more (others kept saying not to) and you are absolutely right. No more cleaning canvases prior to resin or varnishing them. Please continue to share. I realize that I am a bit late to see this post. But your tips are still relevant and have really made my creative time even more enjoyable. THANKS AGAIN, and God Bless!

This was a great video and your written notes were especially helpful. Giving ratios for how you mixed your paints and giving descriptions of the consistency you are aiming to get for the pour was extremely useful. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

Thank you for the "ratio of paint to canvas". I have asked this many times of others and haven't got a definite answer. Love the effect you got. I will watch the other videos on your channel and will be watching for more.

This video was so helpful to me! As a "Newbie" I had no idea how to figure out how much paint to mix up, if you mix too little- it could have a very adverse effect on your pour, so of course I way overshot on my first 3 pours, and wasted A LOT of paint, the puddle below my pouring rack was twice as deep/thick as on my canvas! I really appreciate you explaining how to roughly calculate this! Thank you! Your painting came out very beautiful!

Hi Myriam. I have watched my fair share of acrylic pour videos and yours, thus far, are the best, most informative videos I have come across. Your art is beautiful and your voice is calming, but not boring or coma inducing :) About 7 years ago, I found acrylic pouring art and wanted so badly to learn how to do it. No one and I mean, no one, would share techniques, ingredients, tips or suggestions. I was told that it was "their" intellectual property and they wouldn't share. I was discouraged, I tried in vain to create cells, to get a decent flow, etc. I gave up. By chance I stumbled upon an acrylic pouring video about 3 weeks ago and have been watching as many as I have time for ever since. I did my first successful pour tonight - after 7 years of disappointment. Your tips and suggestions really helped. It sounds silly, but I have waited for the day I could create one that "worked" and tonight I got it. I'm so excited. Thank you so much for sharing, I am beyond grateful to you (and other youtubers) for taking the time to offer your experience so others can learn. Thanks for the videos and for reading my novel here. LOL. Many thanks, Kathleen

Hi Kathleen! I really hope that I don't sound too corny when I say that your letter is exactly why I make these videos! Thank you so much for taking time to tell me this… It totally made my night! Thinking that sharing a few tips has helped someone create art that they love is beyond rewarding and I hope that I can do for years to come. I wish you many many happy, successful pours and fun! If I can ever answer a question just let me know. I share everything!! 😊💕🌀

Kelcia Wheeler I have enjoyed your painting and I want to do a pour for my daughters new house and the colors you used are her favorites. I am new to painting and have found it late in life.(70) But I have had so much fun with the videos and watching all the artists. I have tried myself and think I have done a pretty good job. It is a work in progress but fun is the answer. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

Finally! After watching literally hours of KZbin, I stumbled upon your channel. It's a veritable treasure trove of information! Your explanation of estimating volume of paint for size of canvas is the first time I've heard it introduced! Your voice has a soothing, calm quality to it that makes us want to keep listening. I just tried my very first pour and loved the result! But the next morning I woke up to a different painting! Yikes! My canvas wasn't level! It's not bad, but definitely different and I still like it. You're a great teacher! Thanks so much!!
