Report: On October 25, 2024, Cpl. Taylor Elkins advised me that he witnessed four motorcycles on Interstate 49, traveling over 90 MPH. I traveled northbound on Interstate 49, I located a motorcycle matching description Cpl. Elkins had given. I traveled to Elm Springs Road positioning myself behind the motorcycle to initiate a traffic stop. The motorcycle accelerated running the red light and traveling northbound on Interstate 49. The motorcycle continued to flee northbound on Interstate 49 at speeds in excess of 130 mph. The motorcycle used all three lanes of traffic, driving with no due regard for other traffic. The motorcycle continued northbound taking the 83-mile mark exit, but traveled through a red light and got back on Interstate 49 northbound. The motorcycle then took the 85-mile marker exit and traveled east on Walnut Street before going north on 46th Street. The motorcycle continued to drive in a reckless manner and at excessive speeds. The motorcycle then turned east on Olive street. The motorcycle continued east driving eastbound in the westbound lane of Olive Street and again running a red light. I was able to pull beside the motorcycle but he struck the rear left side of my patrol car and continued eastbound. As the motorcycle approached the 8th street intersection he traveled head on with a westbound vehicle and I was able to pull beside him and push the motorcycle into the curb causing the driver to wreck out. I exited my patrol car and began giving verbal commands to the driver. The driver refused and I attempted to handcuff him but he began to resist. I was able to keep control of the drivers arms but he continued struggle. I stood up and the driver began to obey commands and I was able to take him into custody. The driver, identified as, Gabrial Medina-Garcia stated he was not hurt but the driver was checked by EMS on scene and refused to be transported. TFC. Matthew Walker transported Medina-Garcia to the Washington County Detention Center. Medina-Garcia was charged with the following: Fleeing (Felony) Reckless Driving Speeding Improper Display of License Tags No Motorcycle Endorsement Unsafe Lane Change Improper Turn Signal Fail to Stop at Red Light Driving Left of Center Failure to Yield at Intersection

Concussion will do that. Doesn't change the fact the guy ran, but he seems to have blacked out completely from that crash. Even at 12:40 the officer is explaining to him how he crashed and he's struggling to register it. Meanwhile most high speed car TVIs the perp comes out of the car with no injuries even after multiple flips. @@dr.jiIIaIicecooper2587 Exactly, the cops GPS speed was way off. Just look at the flow of traffic in spots of the chase, if it's right the flow of highway traffic is nearly 100mph in some of those spots.

"I ran? No way." I'll bet he hit his head when he went down and probably has short-term memory loss. That's why he was fighting at the beginning. This happened to me when I was in high school. I had a wreck and bumped my head and couldn't remember anything anyone told me for a good 10 hours. When I asked where I was going, my friends said "we were going to get high," and I said the exact same thing: "No way! You guys smoke pot!?" The jerks messed with me all the way to the hospital.🙂

The 600s like that are all about acceleration, not top speed -- he should have swapped direction on that back road once the cop started trying to wreck him and gone the other way. He opened up distance any time Billy had to slow down. A 180 might have given him enough space to lose him and hide. 1000cc sport bikes can outrun the troopers, 600s can only out sprint them. Definitely "bike season: now -- cooling down but not cold. Tons of bike chases.

And that is a great example of stellar driving by ASP and why pursuit vehicles have to keep getting quicker (not just top speed). Any less skill or power and the bike would have been gone.
