Beautiful tractors. Growing up all we used was International equipment. At age 41 I just found out there are other brands of tractors. Lol. Our equipment broken-down a few times but my brothers John beere breaks down way more and his is newer with less hours.

The most beautiful tractor made. My dad has one and the poor girl was left outside most of its life. He saw it for years on a farm near the highway on his way to work, then he drove by one day and it was for sale. He Bought it that day and it’s been in the shed ever since. She still runs drives and pulls like no other but one day it will be restored back to its former glory!

Is that pump still set up to idle on 4 cyl?

Nice sound. And I'd almost forgotten about the clink of rain caps while at idle on a straight exhaust. Been a while...

We had a 1568 and until now I forgot how they sounded at an idle , But I can still hear the roar it had with strait pipes ! LOL They are a different sounding tractor. Bandit

Bandit how come you ended up with a love for Oliver’s when you had a 1568? I also watch all of your videos.

@@farmerboy2003 I've owned and run a lot of tractors over the years and the Oliver's always seamed to be more comfortable to run and have less problems. More or less if you run one Oliver you run them all there all set up the same. We have a really good old Oliver dealer about 7 miles away and there still working on them today. Every other dealer is over 20 miles away so being local dont hurt. The 1568 IH well it was OK but left a lot to be desired , I could get more done with the 1850 we had that dad traded in on it. Its an ok tractor and the 766 IH I had was a good one and sometime wish I hadnt sold it but it just wasnt comfortable to run it so I sold it. My first Oliver was my 1550 diesel I still have and to only be 54 hp it has always done way more than it should and over the last 30 years its been the best tractor I've ever owned and spent the least on so you got to love a tractor like that. I really like the way they sound good and smooth and I can always rely on my Oliver's. Everyone is free to run what ever they want as for me I have a soft spot for Oliver's and have still have good dealer support and there cheaper to buy so I run them, Plus it pisses off the JD guys ! LOL Bandit

@@banditfarmer1900 I have to agree with you on the way Oliver’s sound. My neighbour has over 30 Oliver’s starting from a 60 and moving all the way up to a 1750. They are a smooth but deep sounding engine. Dealer support is always a big plus, that is one of the big down faults with our IH in my area. The closest IH dealer that’s worth a damn for me is 4 hours away. Luckily they will over night ship me parts if and when needed. If we didn’t run IH here my second choice of tractor would be Oliver, due to there looks and I always thought Oliver was ahead of there time.

@@farmerboy2003 One of the reasons I sold my 766 IH was the fact that my book for it said to remove all weights from the front when not using 3 pt equipment. It also had weight chart in it for different 3 pt equipment and how many weights to add to it to keep the front end on the ground. Well my Oliver's I dont have to add weights to it for 3 pt equipment its ready to go as is. Oliver really thought things threw and they did build a balanced tractor that you really didnt have to add weight to it to do its job. My 1550 diesel weighs in at about 7500 pounds and has 1 front base weight and the back tires are loaded, But I can hook up a 3pt 4x16" plow and go to the field and plow and lever have a front wheel come off the ground. A 10 foot 3pt field cultivator same thing so Oliver built a tractor with 54 hp with the weight built into it to do anything you wanted to and not have to add weights to do the job. I hate adding weights or taking them off off a tractor, Just dont like it at all cause my back says no ! LOL Other big thing about the Oliver's is I dont have to split a tractor to put a clutch in it ! Its a lot easer to pull an engine than it is to split a tractor and a lot safer too ! Like I said I've owned a lot of different tractors over the years and run a lot more but I still keep going back to the Oliver's for tractors because they just seam better built to me and easer to work on when you have to. My 1550 I bought in 1987 (I think) and other than oil and filter changes batteries and tires I have never worked on the tractor mechanically so you got to love a tractor for that reason alone ! Saying this now I need to get the injector pump rebuilt now and put new injectors in it as there not worn out but all the rubber is hard and the pump is leaking now. I dont mind one bit spending a little money on her , She has served me well over the years and done way more than she should have but to be a 1550 she pulls like a 1650 should ! One Oliver and your hooked for life ! Bandit

My dad had a 73 I put Teflon on with. I ran a lot of hour on. It took a half a can of ether to start in the cold of winter. No air condition on it, so was hot and loud with the door open in summer.

Is that the factory engine or is that engine out of something else? I have seen International tractors with those exhaust stacks before but didnt know if they came from the factory that way.
