I'm interested in buying one of these electric lock picks, but I'm having problems finding a video that properly demonstrates their effectiveness over a larger variety of less to more secure cores. From the m1 keyway, through the m27, and the m25, into Kwikset, titans, schlage 5 pin, and 6 pin. into the American AM1/AM2 blanks in variety of different bittings. I'm also interested in a combination picking techniques with these, say a C123 keyway, using the electric pick to pick the top pins, hitting the bottom detent, and going back up to the top pins. Love your Videos and production quality. keep up the good work

@@LogicBob you want to use Shrouded american locks, abus etc...from any respectable company. the biggest one you can find that fits your pelican case. not sure what size case your using but i do know the smaller ones only accept padlocks of specific dimensions. if you can use two Shrouded american locks they will be cursing you while using the grinder on your locks.

@@LogicBob btw finding a Shrouded padlock that works might only be possible for the very large pelican cases. the Master Lock 6321 has the 5/16th shackle. but depending on your case size it might be unacceptable. discus might work for you, abus with the plus core. if you dont mind the way they look and stick out.

$169 is insane for that! The Ultrafire battery and crap charger that it ships with is clue #1. I'd love to see a teardown of it. The internal mechanical construction is undoubtedly low-quality disposable electric-toothbrush tech. I just suspect that if you are a professional and use this often, there's a good chance it will wear out or break within 6 months. I won't be surprised to see similar gadgets selling for much less. It there were as much demand for them as for, say, flashlights, they'd be under $20 from China on Banggood. (Thanks for the review and demo, as always though!)
@Micko3505 жыл бұрын
In my experience with those Ultrafire Batteries, if you ignore the first digit the remainder is closer to the actual rating. I have those exact batteries I use in torches & they last around half of my 1500mah Samsung (so around the 800mah)

So compared to the Kronos from Multipick? (For European customers? ) I'm not a professional really and I like to pick for the fun of it and these gadgets sort of forfeits my purpose. Nevertheless, this whole comment is stupidly useless but Multipick has released an "Electric Tensioner" - any comment on that gadget. Really expensive but is it useful? Think not for the Lock Sport community, but does it work?
@bosnianbill5 жыл бұрын
I've had a few requests to test that electric tensioner but the price they're asking is astronomical. Also, it appears to only work on Euro locks in certain situations (no obstructions from door frames or knobs). If I hit the lottery maybe I'll splurge for one. Until then.... we'll just have to remain in the dark. Sorry.
@derekbroestler76875 жыл бұрын
I don't know about the electric tensioner either, even working as a locksmith it's too much money IMO... and I DID shell out the cash for the Kronos and I'm happy with it.... TYPICALLY, whenever I use any sort of pick gun (snap or electric) I use a ring tensioner with the longest straight needle available for that pick gun... If I'm using a pick gun, I'm either looking for the best chance for a fast unlock, (like when I'm doing an unlock for the police for an eviction or welfare check in) or when I've tried and failed to pick a lock that's not so paracentric to eliminate the use of a pick gun, but that doesn't like to be bumped, and I just want to be done with it so I can move on (such as a newer Sargent LA keyway where the tolerances are still really tight, especially if I suspect a lot of highs and lows) Multipick makes a ring style tensioner and I have no doubt it's excellent but I got mine from Sparrows for less than half the price and it works just fine, I'm sure there are others that are cheaper than Multipick that work just as well.
@OLLE37705 жыл бұрын
@@derekbroestler7687 Good info. Really. I don't do this to earn a living. I just want to separate bad locks from not so bad locks and for the fun of it. Like a Puzzle. If I can open it - it's a bad lock, If I can't open it - don't really know. Probably a bad lock anyway and I don't have the skills or the imagination to attack it.

Hey, what's that knife about, in the background? 🤔
This is my complaint in general for pick guns, or electric picks. They don't accommodate storage WITH the tips attached. WHY?! It could have been so easy... Some are easier than others to put in. Sign me up for an electro pick! I'd like to have a chuckle with one some day. 😅 🚫 Never trust any lithium ion rechargeable battery with the word "fire" on it. Buy from very reputable sources, make sure they're real, and the mAh matches the battery. In about 6 years of buying these, I've only had ONE fake that made it though. The vendor I bought it from became aware of some really good fakes, coming from just one box they had in. They replaced it no questions asked. Always... ALWAYS store your lithium ion batteries in a battery box. Any nicks in the wrap will cause hellfire. 📋 -That's always been my rules, never failed me yet. I think I own more and more devices with flat top 18650 & 26650 batteries now. Rather than always eating up AA, or C, or D batteries. Thanks for the review. Stay awesome! 👍

Leaves me wondering if it has reverse battery protection or is it scrap if I accidentally put the battery in upside down? Also I noticed the cheap Chinese battery was a button nose ( making it a little longer maybe) had it any problems with Panasonic battery moving about inside, or was it also a button nosed battery. Them lithium batterys can be nasty lol battery safety is a must. Good looking tool tho, looks a little weaker than the South Ord mini Jmmurdy showed last night.

@@davidworsley7969 I get it. Big Clive does some good testing and I'm a little curious about the actual number myself. I was just commenting on it's craptastitude and the fact it's not that unusual. I have a charger / tester I use for that. It runs the battery through a cycle to determine capacity. I then mark each battery with the mah. Amazingly I've had batteries with those type of claims that actually were just under 500mah.

Charger is rubbish too, got nothing inside it but the most rudimentary of parts. Can't regulate and curb the voltage, let alone that it'd stop its charging (process) when your battery is full. It will immediately start reducing the power of your battery and will destroy it in no time. Also its inner workings get so hot it will stop functioning altogether after max a few dozen times (though that might suffice for a lifetime with this tool) and the parts that must go in the wall socket are unsafe, untested and I guess illegal. Don't use it, but replace it at the same time as you start using a better battery, it would make no sense to get that better part only to destroy it with that rambling little ehrm, thing
