Hopefully it works out like your seeding job, as soon as you seed it won't rain, so maybe after you build your storm shelter there will be no more tornadoes, I sure hope it works out that way. Thanks for sharing Andrew, see you on the next one.

I'm sure it will, although if the good lord blesses me with many more decades to live, I expect to get hit by several hurricanes. Hopefully none anytime soon!

Love the shelter beginning. I’m like you, I wear flip flops weed eating or whatever I want to do. But I don’t wear them on the tractor. I slipped on one of the steps few years ago (it was oily) and hurt myself pretty good (back). So I’m in shoes now. Lol...Take care.

Completely understand on the flip flops, a calculated risk on my part. Thanks for watching, hope you are doing well!

It's coming along, a lot of rain recently has kept me from finishing it. It's usable in its current state.

I think the attachment that I see on the front of your tractor the most is the forks. Thank the lord for forks on a tractor I love mine.
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
Without a doubt forks are my most used front end attachment. I would strongly suggest to any new tractor buyer to purchase forks first. Very useful attachment!

Hi! My husband and I recently found your channel, and we love it! We also live in FL and want to build a storm shelter especially seeing how the bunker held up to Helene. I tried to download the plans but the link is not working. Do you have another link where we can find the plans?
@mikelilly76674 жыл бұрын
Enjoying the build. Have you thought about the types of things you are going to store in it once completed? Bottled water, canned/dried food, first aid? I'd also have some type of mobile solar electric source that can be deployed after the storm passes. Keep doing what you're doing
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
Yes I have, we will keep a basic first aid kit, lights, batteries, water and food that won't spoil. I have two generators and I am usually prepared well in advanced of any known storm to run for several days. I will be keeping the house and all refrigerators/freezers powered up to make sure we have plenty of food saved and ready. Years of hurricanes has us rather prepared on what to expect.

The link you have for the storm shelter plans doesn't work. Do you have another link for them?

🌟Wow! That is a labor intensive project! How many can you build before something drops on your bare toes? 😁😂 It will be awesome!🇺🇸🍺
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
Bla Bla Bla, I know you are waiting for that! Been wearing flops my entire life, no broken toes yet. Probably will happen next video now that I said that. It's very labor intensive, but saves a pile of money and is using something I already have. It's worth it to me for the peace of mind, I never want to ride out another tornado in anything but a shelter.

Love the vid sir... and I appreciate the link to the PDF. Oddly I will disagree with one thing. The door should open to the inside. In your case (BTW - I did not read the entire PDF) it is unlikely that debris would block a door from being pushed open, however I have heard stories from the Midwest where that has happened. So being completely hypothetical, you and your wife run out during a bad FL storm, then your boat hit the shelter and just happens to land against the door. Pushing that boat away to open the door would be hard... I am sure you get my point. Either way, this is not criticism, just observation. Thanks again!
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
You are correct, although the biggest concern with out swinging doors is in the ground shelters. An outward swinging door should be stronger and stand up to debris impacts better. I am modifying the plans and putting a window unit in the back of the shelter. I am also building a thick metal hinged door to completely cover the AC on the inside in the case of severe wind and it possibly being torn out. The window unit will be able to be removed for a second escape point.

I would never wear open toe shoes in my shop and I would never wear steel toe boots around heavy equipment. That's what I do. You do whatever you want to do because...Merica.

I know it's a risk, and I've taken it my entire life. It's been absolutely miserable hot these last few weeks and boots make me so hot I'd rather not work.

Paslode F350S Framing Nailer good nail gun, you have a little moisture in your air-compressor, Do not over oil this nail gun, one or two drops of oil per box (2500) of nails, only use Air Tool Oil, never ever use WD-40 on the inside of this gun or any nail gun, i would install a filter for the water. Total cost to rebuild this Gun is less than $100. I like this design, would change a few things, most important thing is fastening to the slab, i wish they would have done the slab design a little different, like maybe a footer deeper in the ground, rather than a slab sitting on the ground. For sure the plywood on both sides of that wall makes this a Bomb Shelter, for anyone who has gone through a storm like you did or who lives in an area with Tornado and Hurricane's this can be a must have for your safe being. In saying that i feel this is going to be a very helpful video for anyone looking to build a Storm Shelter. Great video Andrew, thanks for taken the tell to explain How, Why and What you are building, as always Stay Safe and Keep Cool, and ditch the flip flops.
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
That gun was given to me with worn internals. I did rebuild it for about 50 bucks and it's worked great since. I think I oiled it too much that day, as I do have a water separator coming off my air tank. I also drain my tank often since it's such a humid state. Amazes me how much water you can get out of tank. That slab is several inches in the ground, so sliding shouldn't be a problem. I mentioned it in another video, but I'm also going to put earth augers at all four corners and bolt the shelter to them. I feel confident it will never tip or slide. The plywood is the key to locking everything together and providing serious impact resistance. People don't give wood enough credit for impacts, it's ability to flex and give makes it strong. Thanks for watching.
