Thanks for doing this; just had a set of 34’s put on my Suburban (also for overlanding) and your videos definitely helped in making my decision. Looking forward to future updates!

Thank you for reviewing the RT Trails in these videos. I drive a 21 JLU Rubicon Diesel and looking to upgrade from my stock KO2s. I’ve had my eye on these and just watching the very few reviews on them so far.

Toyo definitely has a good reputation and the Open Country R/T Trail is a nice add in the Open Country lineup. I like the thicker rubber layer on the sidewall of the R/T Trail for increased puncture resistance.

@@NorthwestBronco just a heads up, went up near Diamond Lake with those tires on, my brother was in a 2023 Frontier with the Toyo triple peak tires and my sister in her Wrangler Rubicon with 37 nittos , I noticed I had to have a little tire speed in the deeper stuff we found but I still ended up being the one breaking trail for them because they were getting stuck and I never did so I would say for an RT that’s not snow rated our tires do pretty damn decent brother! My Power Wagon weighs 8,000lbs as well.

About to pull the trigger on the LT315/70R17 exactly like you are running for my Black Diamond. I couldn't find a note if a spacer is required to clear these tires on the BD steelies? I'll be swapping the suspension to the Eiback Stage 2.0. Thanks for the content.
@NorthwestBronco
@NorthwestBronco Жыл бұрын
I've read forum posts that mention that. I believe most folks with BD's are doing a 2" lift. The Eibach 2.0 is a great choice for this application! Thank you for the comment!

I do mention it on another video. I can say they did just fine in the ice and snow. Not any better or worse than the average tire. I did notice they aren't as good on wet roads that a A/T. But that's to be expected with a hybrid tire. I'll do a more detailed review during this winter after some more experience. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIi8kJ6rnL2piJo

Did you notice when you first got them or currently did they have a low speed vibration? up to so 35mph or so. Maybe just a chunky design like a mud tire? I have two other sets of Ridge grapplers and Wildpeak at3w's and are smooth low speed.
@NorthwestBronco
@NorthwestBronco 6 ай бұрын
No vibrations when new or now. Slight hum in the cab at first, then it either went away or I got used to it.

Green review, you answered some questions that I had on these tires. I'm about to lift my 5th gen 4Runner and these are very high on my short list of new tires. My one concern is that the size that I want (255/80/17) is only available as an E rated, but the fact that the D's ride nicer than the C's that you previously ran is encouraging. One question I had, and apologies if you mentioned this in your other video, how did these affect your MPG? We don't buy 4x4s for that of course, but anything that negatively impacts range is always a concern. I'll also add that I have a good three to four hour road trip to get to the trails, and the 4Runner is my daily driver that does about 350 mi of asphalt per week. I'm thinking this looks like a rugged durable tire that will be fairly easy to live with as a DD.

I asked in another video, but I see here you don’t air down very low. I’m often dropping down to 16-17 psi and am concerned about running a tire rated for 8-10.5” wide wheels on the 7.5” steelies.
@NorthwestBronco
@NorthwestBronco Жыл бұрын
If you are airing down that low or doing rock crawling, I'd recommend a proper wheel width for the tire 😀

@@NorthwestBronco - well, I sure do hope they come out with a true 35x11.5 in C or D rating by the time I need tires. My OC AT3 have around 20k on them right now.

Why would say in your video you didn't notice the road noise as much after acquiring some amount of mileage on the tire? Could it be due to more wear on the tire or Bronco's interior insulation? I have a Jeep Sahara! Jeeps are not as insulated. Although, I love my Jeep, and with no complaints.... it's a tank. I like the Toyo RT tire. However, when I travel on the freeway in transit I don't want to hear that annoying humming. Can you elaborate more specifically on the decimal factor? Respectfully
@NorthwestBronco
@NorthwestBronco 9 ай бұрын
I'm not sophisticated enough to tell you a decimal factor, but I can say I notice no hum on the road ways. Either I got used to it, or the tires wore a bit. But it was not noticeable after a few days. I have no complaints. Wonderful tire. Here's the latest updated on the tires: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKrFiZ1vh9p9ras

I want to get those tires for my bronco raptor but I want them and 37“ x 12 5017 the problem is they only come and load range E but the maximum psi is 65 psi I don’t know if that tire will work well or not wondering if the load range is too heavy for a bronco raptor I wish they made it in a D range would be the perfect tire any thoughts?👍👍👍
@NorthwestBronco
@NorthwestBronco Жыл бұрын
Agreed! The D rated tire is perfect with that thicker sidewall. I know Toyo is coming out with much more versions in the future!
