Did it ever occur to you, that when you press V for commands, the counter at the top of the menu said "Soldiers Rallied: 0" meant, you havent rallied any soldiers to take your commands. Thus you need to press 1, to rally, like the counter says, so you can then tell them to follow you. Just saying, im not even playing the game and I figured that out the first time you opened the menu...

Dionizos666 Consider the first alpha of medieval compared to this first alpha WHICH IS NOT EVEN RELEASED YET and I personally believe this is better. Plus this is an indie while total war has the foundation of corporate funding

Immagine if you can put this function in a total war like medieval 2.. Will be awesome. whats fascinating about this game is each of them has individual AI, they think of themselves, unlike in Total War they are controlled in regiments, groups

why don't the orks have no shields when clearly they are using one handed weapons? More importantly, why do the feudal soldiers with shields keep their shields behind them instead of, you know, using them to block and parry. The orks also have little to no armor and no shield (for what I must assume are reasons of honor) so they should be dieing in droves to the archer fire. And again, why give any units a shield to then animate them fighting with the shield held behind their backs, WHYYYY?!?!

then why go through the trouble of adding a shield if it is purely cosmetic? Should not the mechanics come first, and then the cosmetics? seriously though, as long as they eventually add proper fighting animations it will be fine. I just found it funny how all these guys had shields and refused to use them, reminded me of stupid Hollywood fight scenes.

That is not a valid excuse for something that claims to be a "battle simulator" and goes to such lengths to look realistic. I do not care too much, I just find it funny how all these guys could be fighting with their shields but don't. Guess they though that, seeing as the orks chose not to bring shields they should not use theirs to make it fair. Still looked cool though, in the bad history Hollywood type of way.

Yeah, same goes to me too. If we're talking about Total War; the game has many different possibilities of how you want to engage your enemy or even the way you want to play out your game this is what makes Total War a really strong competitor and unique game to all gamers out there. True, we're not comparing games here but I just want to point this out. Don't mind me. ps, this may just be my own opinion.

Also, this is just a theory but for getting troops to follow your commands, I think you first need to press 1 to rally them first then press a command to initiate it. Only thought of this cause none of the soldiers were listening to you & in the command screen there was a number another the command list that said "Rallied Soldiers: 0" or something like that. Also, as a side tip I noticed during this video, when you are controlling a soldier, those highlighted in red are the ones that have focused on you and are going to attack you

I don't really see the appeal of this game, not my cup of tea personally. prefer total war for the strategy, this game is just a bit bland, piss poor anims and all you input is pressing the start button and then controlling one or two guys for 20 seconds. Needs to come a long long way for it to be anyway interesting.

Matthew Winfield Yeah, it's an all out brawl game where you just watch men stabbing each other to death that you have no control of. it's still TABS but with huge amounts of men. so i'll stick to total war. I have INSANELY high hopes for this one last 2 months ago thinking that i could make MASSIVE battles (true to history) ones that total war cannot do. Alas, I am extremely wrong. Animations are not going to be changed probably since it would cause massive fps drops as the current technology can't handle it. and UEBS selling point is the massive battles so.. Forsaken Pumpkin If i remember, it's only one man that is working on it. so one man dev.

UEBS Suggestion- Ithilian ambush Try to find a small valley with two hills on each side. Have 10,000 Orcs in the middle (or as many as you can fit in the middle) Have 2,500 wild men on each side representing Ithilian Rangers Have 500 archers with the wild men as support, holding position

When you sped up the game near the end, you sped up the Archers rate of fire. That's why the battle turned so quickly.

I agree completely with your assessment of the size issue with the TW series.. Rome II was still pretty well up there, compared to M2TW.. I think that R2TW with M2TW combat moves (with the great unit-on-unit possibility system) would have been amazingly great, with really large armies..
