I'm not sure if this is a helpful tip or just a warning, but I chose my first base location right outside the spawn point, not where the game suggested. It's a nearby village to the west. I decided to follow your approach and modify existing structures. However, there are areas where I can't build at all, and others within that specific location that reset any changes I make after logging out. Have you encountered this behavior anywhere else when modifying game content? I'm worried because it cost me about two hours of playtime.

Loved the double layer roof tip! An easier method of creating the checker board is putting down a 4M ceiling, using the individual tool remove every other block, then use the 4M ceiling of a different material to fill in all of the gaps.

I took over a farmhouse pretty early on and completely abandoned my "starting house" the tutorial has you build at the start. The farmhouse is complete with fertile soil and multiple very good resources nearby. This has helped my early game SO tremendously and can't be overstated how useful it is! I'm currently in the middle of a full-on renovation where I've now built an entire extension, completely repaired the main house, and expanded the garden/farming area. Like I said I'm still very early game (level 8 or something - just upgraded global altar level to lvl3) so I'm sure I'll get into more detailed builds from scratch, but loving this farmhouse so far

Build around the fireplace assets with similar stone and watch them transform. I also like the brazier trick. A Great trick for roofing is to use the snapping after u place a corner where u want it. Snap around the edges to make sure is all even. Starting with a foundation or shape that is based on 8 (even) will save you a lot of time roofing. Roofs do not line up on odd tiles.

I find that a roof of tarred shingle on top of stone walls with snapping-to-grid turned on looks absolutely fine, it's the rough wood stuff that makes things poke through mostly. Also, advice involving clipping things together, pure TotalXclipse, I thought I was watching one of your many great Satisfactory videos 😀

Hope at some point they make it so you can built a "frame" of various types of blocks, and then copy/paste that frame elsewhere. Like build one 8/8 block of intricate flooring, then copy it to the rest of the floor.

If you remove the flame, you'll have to upgrade it again, the comfort items count across the whole zone of that flame altar, although there's some bugs with it not visual counting the full comfort level even if the timer goes way above that.

honestly im not sure yet if i like the building in enshrouded, on one hand it is great, on the other hand... if all youre given are right angles then sooner or later youd probably feel a bit... boxed in, i can see why they limit it to such a hard build grid but IMO its just bad, you can place buildings exactly where you want them because of the hard build grid etc

All the big pieces are basically just prefab templates of multiple voxel blocks. If you place one of them you can even use the 1x1 tools to remove voxels from them. It's not Vintage Story types of crazy but it is fairly flexible.

TBH, the whole build is pretty average. The tips are good, but not too impressed with the implementation of. With more time spent on building in Enshrouded you might find better ways to implement some of this. There were no Epic builds depicted in this video. Just generic stuff from Other games you tried to bring to Enshrouded. But by enshrouded standards are pretty boring/average. IMHO Using blocks and varying block types to add detail to plain walls is always good, its just not done very well here, could be better.
