No it's not, it's even so bad that they have to pay a hella lot of streamers to play their game. Just like you. But I hope some do get some fun out of it regardless.
@TotalXclipse6 сағат бұрын
I don't think a publisher (not the Developer) paying content creators to promote the game means it's a bad game, after all the vast majority of games are pay to promote their games (even Satisfactory during the Early Access release IIRC). Foundry is definitely not Satisfactory, like I mention in the video, but it is a great factory game in the very early stages of it's development with a lot of fun to be had.

This looks more like Techtonica: Above Ground. It’s Techtonica with Minecraft. My only gripe about Techtonica was it lacked the infinite build-space of Satisfactory. I won’t play the early access, but I’d be interested in 1.0. Always wanted THIS kind of mod in Minecraft.
@sharksandwich4045 сағат бұрын
THANK YOU! I've been getting annoyed with the Satisfactory comparisons. It has 90% similarities with Techtonica, in the art form of Eco (not as popular as Minecraft, but it's so similar). It shares the loader mechanic, progression, science pack (blue/purple core) tech unlocks, and so much more with Techtonica.

This one has a few tricks up it's sleeve which is nice - like finite ore nodes, but the option to make them infinite. It's also Proc Gen like Factorio, meaning our limits for factories are merely down to how optimized it is :)
@kdeathwing6 сағат бұрын
@TotalXclipse True but as dyson sphere and other have taught us there is no more of that each is great in its own way of factories built, one super player will do a mega build and put other players off. Will still be great to begin with but it will due fast i feel.

Personally, I'd always love to see updates continue to be free, but I wouldn't be opposed to paid DLC assuming it's worth the price. I've gotten my money's worth out of the game at least 10 times over and I'd love to further support the game if it meant more quality content.

I really can't believe this game only has 76% positive reviews recently on steam which might turn off so many fellow factory game enthusiasts! I have waiting a long time myself because of the somewhat bad reputation there and after around 30 hours in I gotta say I love it! The recent updates add so much value to the game, as well drastically improving the gameplay and quality of life, such as making building really fun. So if you guys like techtonica and want to support it, you might consider writing a review! The game needs it <3

I've started playing Foundry yesterday. With all the incremental item crafting, I started using Storage Containers directly at the end of every production line, but this has become very confusing within the first session. How would you organize those temporary endpoints of the production lines?
@TotalXclipse21 сағат бұрын
I always try to move the items to a dedicated storage area, even if it is just temporary. The great thing about techtonica is the terrain is breakable, so you can run items below the factory floor to keep the areas clean without crisscrossing lots of spaghetti belts

Digging under the base... we all are the at some point in time. If I ever start again, i simply build my production floor 4 walls above the ground, so you skip on the digging part.

As fun as this game was its life span seems to have halted or diminished a fair bit since the world feels lifeless after a few years since its release. Sure the joy of loading g in with friends is always good but if you dint have friends that play the game loading into the world now feels dull and boring. Let's go mine for 5 hours build for another 5 and then take down 2 outta the now 7 bosses only to rinse and repeat the cycle for every biome. The joy I'd have in having NPC villages in the grasslands or plains that you can build up/hire workers to mime resources or base defenders would help add life to the world. Add in wandering npc raiders or berserkers that are like the draugers maybe in the blackforests. Have the trader actually stock more then 5 items to spend the infinite wealth you gain on. And maybe the true final boss should be Odin or some other god like Thor to prove your worthiness into Valhalla? Expand upon the villages and other locations that spawn in, maybe instead of a small 8 block wide castle in the mountains have a few full castles (in partial ruins) that you can rebuild. Maybe have variations of these random villages some are small communities like we have currently and add in farming villages or larger single farmhouses, expand the drauger villages to be small medium and large villages so it's not just one style with 5 buildings with no variations. There's a lot that could be added that would give new life to the game and reinvigor the single player gamers to come back to it

They gave it a proc-gen voxel world, but they don't know why they gave it a proc-gen voxel world. It's woefully underutilised, to the point it might as well not have happened. You seem glad it isn't just "Minecraft with automation", but the thing about that is... it hasn't been done yet. At least, not outside of Minecraft mods. A survival game enhanced with automated factory lines would be a breath of fresh air after the slew of "factory, just because" games we've been getting. Foundry desperately needs an identity because right now it's just a tool.

@@PulseSyncGames I'm saying it's nothing like Satisfactory based on my experience, playing several thousand hours across the factory gaming niche.
