It's true these cartoons may have been around since the 60's, and some might think that they are outdated but they are still all timeless classics! and everyone knows you can't beat the classics.

The 60's dominated the 90's on Cartoon Network. Scooby Doo became such a household name in the 90's that it lead to 4 of the best straight-to-video movies.

quite a few of these cartoons were in syndication still during the 80s and i think 90s, i remember watching them thinking, "they dont seem that old". the 60s ended up creating some timeless toons, which just makes me think that the big cartoon renaissance may have been inspired by the toons of the 60s.

The Galaxy Trio did have back stories. If you chose DD and Mutley, then Wacky Races should have been in also. The Races came first, then the pigeon.

Space Ghost was provided a back story in the form of a comic book miniseries. It was actually rather dark and I'm not sure if it is really canon but it does exist...

Popeye was out before the 60s......
@TheCommenterDragon2 жыл бұрын
Exactly, Popeye's actually been around since the late 1920's or so i've read.
@barstro2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Popeye was around decades prior to the 60s. Popeye first appeared Thimble Theatre comic strips in 1919 in the New York Journal and appeared in other comic strips in the 20s. Popeye The Sailor was released by Paramount Pictures in theatrical shorts, most notably Popeye The Sailor meets Sinbad the Sailor in 1936. It earned an Academy Award nomination but was beaten out by Walt Disney Studios. Over the years, various theatrical shorts were released and were used as advertisements for spinach in the late 50s on television. It was not until 1960 that that Popeye The Sailor cartoon series began.

You are aware that there was a Popeye cartoon in the 60s, right. This wasn't when Popeye was made.
