The young generation is not stupid, they will find new things to appreciate, that's just the way humanity is, you make the best out of whatever situation you are in. And a shopping experience is basically only good for the retailers. Like Elon Musk for example. Look how many products average people just end up throwing in the trash when they no longer function.

Having worked in supermarket retailing for 30 years in both my native Ireland and here in the U.K., where I’ve lived for 24 years, I’ve seen the beginning of this collapse even before Covid in September 2019, when I was made redundant from my last U.K. supermarket employer after 17 years - with the growth of online shopping, I suspect that this collapse is going to get much worse in 2025 and beyond

Yes, it’s nothing to do with th business it’s the unlimited Executive bonuses and pay packages that pays in stock options vice an actual salary…. When the top 3 executives make more than 90% of the rest of the employees that leads to a collapse in just a couple years and then those same,e Executives move on to another company

Walmart has gotten to greedy! During the pandemic, the two stores near me, never had toilet paper. It was ordered but, some customers say the employees were buying it all. My sister sent me toilet paper from Dallas. It cost my sister more money to ship it than what it cost. I finally got some from another chain H.E.B. Eventually I was finally able to get toilet paper through home delivery.

Food courts attributed to their demise. I liked the days when you could still go to a sit down restaurant in the mall and experience a pleasant lunch with a friend. The food courts attract the youngsters who want to hang out and share an order of fries with six friends. But, all good things come to an end. I order everything from Amazon now. Totally different shopping experience, but can save time and avoid the traffic and draining the gas tank. Fast and free shipping, easy and mostly no questions asked, returns. Whenever I have taken the time to call custom service, they have been helpful and obliging.Guess the life lesson is being able to adapt to change, and everything changes!
