Bear Attacks Dog
When a dog spots a bear walking towards him, he wags his tail and barks at the bear. I’m not sure if it’s because he’s afraid, or because he wants to play. The bear seems timid and is not sure what to do, but he never tries to bite or attack the dog, before turning around and leaving. When a couple of dogs harass a bear by trying to steal his pail of “whatever is in there”, the bear attacks them, and pounces on one of the dogs, but lets it go. The dogs are not dissuaded one bit by the bear’s antics and continue to bother the big and powerful predator. If you come across a bear, having a guard dog like the Great Pyrenees with you, can keep you safe. This dog's inherent impulse is to defend its family members.
These two guardian dogs were not going to back down when they spotted this bear until the animal retreated. This male grizzly bear wandered into the backyard of the people filming this video. He’d been a “problem bear” at several houses in the area before he came to them. After being run out of their place, he moved north to a less populated area and has not been a problem since. I’m sure having a Caucasian Shepherd barking at the bear incessantly helped to repel the curious animal. These dogs will not back down from a fight, even against bears and wolves, and we just saw it in this video, how it barked and pursued the bear fearlessly, and this was not a small bear.
Bear Attacks Wild Boar
The fat pig in this video is almost as big as the bear that’s trying to kill it, so it’s no surprise that the animal stands his ground and manages to make the bear abandon the hunt. A black bear comes down a small hill to attack a wild hog. The bear grabs the hog and tries pulling him up the hill, but gets stuck along the way because the hog is heavy. Unfortunately, this is where the video ends, so we do not get to see the outcome. It was a very exciting moment for onlookers, when a bear snuck up to an unsuspecting wild boar, but the bear just pranked and scared the boar. I don't think I've ever seen a bear that close to a wild boar without attacking it.
The bear could have bitten the boar's butt and killed it, and the boar would have never been quick enough to escape. When the boar sensed the presence of another animal, it immediately ran off. The following scene shows a bear battling a wild boar, and the people filming the incident honk to scare the bear away, but I believe the bear is so focused on the pig that it ignores the horn and continues to pound the hog. When a few wild hogs spot a bear running in their direction, they run away as fast as they can, but the bear catches up to the last boar and kills it.

I live on the lower Yukon River. One thousand miles from any connecting road. I watched the four bears take down a cow moose & her calf through a spotting scope on a bluff from across the river. Two bears got the moose to run as one was ahead of her & ambushed her as she was looking back to see where the others were. The fourth took the calf. Not only did I see that once but I seen the same thing 50 up the river about 4 days later with 4 beers that took down a cow moose with her calf. I really don't think they were the same 4? They could not have traveled faster than a boat up river?
