4:59 i honestly think that body positivity should be about accepting your own flaws and knowing that you CAN'T be perfect and it shouldn't lead people to let themselves go and make their life and bodies unhealthy no matter what the internet tell you, if you're overweight by choice then you're living an unhealthy life.
@user-we8dn5ub9z5 ай бұрын
Also that if you’re choosing to be overweight then there’s nothing wrong with enjoying that and wanting that to be how your life is. Just like how some people choose to smoke and enjoy it. But people who smoke usually acknowledge that it’s unhealthy and bad for you. So the problem with body positivity and fat acceptance isn’t that they choose to live an unhealthy lifestyle and be okay with that, it’s about denying that it’s bad for you and being proud of it, plus promoting it to others. It annoys me that they don’t realise you can choose to love yourself as you are and be fine with being unhealthy without pretending it’s healthy and promoting it to others as a healthy way to live.

not letting people in your life is a sign that you have more to heal of yourself. that's how i see it - not only you believe that people will mistreat you again but you're also not ready to put your time, energy and love to new people. and then there's my personal unpopular opinion directed to my generation (gen z) - y'all just don't care to put in the effort in neither healing you past wounds, neither wanting to even give a chance to someone new. this is why i personally struggle with finding friends, people are antisocial and being haters on purpose. i wish to everyone to understand that only through opening your heart again you can cure your old pain, by embracing it and choosing love regardless.

Yes cancelling racist people is 100% valid and justifiable and should be encouraged and I'm sick of moderates and conservatives pretending like it isn't. there's such a massive pressure that the right way to deal with your problems is to talk to someone and to open up. I think it should be okay to get through things on your own, and I'm not saying bottle everything up, but you don't need to tell people everything. It's good to do it on your own if that's what you need. Similar note, I feel like in many places, we're told that you can't trust your own opinion because there's always someone who will know better, that there's always someone else you have to listen to and get advice from. We should trust ourselves more, no you don't know everything, but especially when it comes to your own life you often know your situation better than anyone else. Trust yourself.

The opinions I disagreed on and why: 1. While similar incomes can be great for friendships, if you can't maintain meaningful connections with people from different financial backgrounds, that reflects on your character and the depth of your friendships. Grabbing an iced matcha at the local market is just as fun as an expensive dinner. You can always do pricier activities with friends who share your income bracket. A diverse friend group helps you grow, see different perspectives, and stay grounded as your lifestyle and income changes overtime. Real friends are there for you even during downturns. 2. Cancel culture rarely hurts people unless there's overwhelming evidence or media firestorms for crimes (think Harvey Weinstein). Sure, it can be performative at times, but that's a minor downside. The bigger benefit, besides accountability, is the awareness and support victims get. The #MeToo movement, sparked by Weinstein's cancellation, led to similar movements like 4B movement in South Korea. The real challenge is screenwriters actually writing funny jokes that stay relevant overtime and not protecting bad behavior online. 3. There was no reason why Victoria Secret Angels couldn't be both diverse AND keep their aspirational fantasy. Their biggest mistake is failing to recognise and accept that all they had to do was include more diverse Angels who were still bombshells at their fashion show. They would rather get rid of the fashion show and the angels entirely than include more diverse models. Beauty standards have changed but that doesn't mean people above a size small don't want to feel sexy and glamorous too.
@simonesquared5 ай бұрын
That's facts, but if you keep a small circle of friends, and you want to do something but they can't afford it thats more difficult coz it inhibits ur experience too. sometimes u want an expensive dinner mlaoooo. and cancel culture defs hurts people. unfortuntely the vs aspirational fantasy is tied to being an unrealistic beauty standard and that means being thin
@glistening71785 ай бұрын
@@simonesquared You missed all the points they made about cancel culture just to respond with "it def hurts people."
