I think you should always talk about discontinued fragrances, we love hearing about them. I am one if the most blessed and or fortunate perfume collector. I have this favorite thrift store that I go to and I have found golden gems of fragrances there. I have found fragrances that smelled so good to me, that I had to purchase, later to come home and find out that it is discontinued or sought after and very rare. This store knows what they have because of the prices and the fact that they keep their exclusive ones in the showcases and not on top. Keep informing us about those discontinued fragrances. A lot of them can still be found.

Part Two of my findings. When I heard about Stash, I flipped because of the rave reviews and the reviewer, that I trust, so I had to have it. I looked for it and it was no where to be found and on her website, I didn’t want to pay that much on a blind buy. But I didn’t give up. I kept looking and I found a brand new, unopened, 1.7 bottle for a little over $35.00, I grabbed it. When I got it I instantly fell in love and turned around and ordered a 3.5 oz, brand new bottle for a little over $50.00. I went into TJMaxx, right after this Christmas and walked up on a Stash Unspoken gift set for $16.99, that was sitting where the purses were, all by itself. Lastly, but not in the least. Around 2017, I discovered Burberry Tender Touch perfume, but all the store had was a half used tester. I asked could I buy the used tester, she said, yes for $75.00. I was like, heck no. I looked on line and discovered that it was discontinued and selling for over $300.00 or more, again, heck no. But I didn’t give up. My thrift store finally got a full bottle that they were selling for $99.00. But every week their prices got down by 25%, so I waited until it got down to $25.00, but it was gone. I was upset because I got up early to try to get it. A few months later a fragrance house had a brand new bottle for $12.99, with free shipping. Yes you read right. I ordered it in total disbelief. Then I went on eBay the same day and they had a 2/3 used bottle for $5.99 plus shipping, because the thick base had a chip in it. Who wears the bottle? So keep those posts about discontinued fragrances, you do an excellent job of serving all of us frag heads, lol. Plus I’m a new subscriber sorry I’m so long winded.

And the fact that it was sitting right there in front of my face, in the purse department and not in the fragrance section. Mostly all thrift stores sell fragrances. I got another gem yesterday.

Looking up discontinued fragrances can actually be helpful because it tends to bring us all together to find bottles and similar scents. My fave out of these, Insensè, but I adore Givenchy scents in general.

Iquitos is one of the best fragrences I recreated as a perfumer. The bottle is the shape of obsidian which is known as one of the sharpest objects in history. The azteca used obsidian for human sacrifices. Plus Iquitos was created by brand Alan Delon who was one of the coolest actors.

My unicorn...discontinued scent....Guerlain Parure. I still do not own this !!! The one problem with buying this....the many Guerlain-a-holics.....lol...say that this fragrance did NOT "age" well..and many bottles they have received , the fragrance has "gone off" ...it is very very expensive...so I am worried to take the chance on buying this one !!! the original FENDI it was my mother's sig scent for nighttime and joy by Jean Patou was her day. she and my father both passed away recently and way too soon. could you suggest anything like Fendi? It makes me so happy to remember them dancing at parties etc, to smell and I believe ages well if stored correctly I've been burned on ebay so many times, I'm too afraid to buy again. Ostara is a very good perfume. Got to sample it, and yes the opening is feminine, but if you like it, who cares. I didn't know about Fort&Manly's Charlatan. I really like that one. Was on my 2buy list. Not long ago, it was going for a great price. Sebastian, just got YSL's Opium Secret de Parfum. It's still sealed. Also got vintage Knowing by Estee Lauder. It's a bit airy but still nice. Also got Joint, Tenere, and Furyo. All very nice. Zino in the Lancaster bottle is very is solid. Actuer, wonderful rose. Montana Parfume d'homme with the UTIF mark is very much owning if you don't know it. Thanks for the upload on the discontinued.

Sebastian, if you're discovering more celebrity fragrances, I know that Michael Jordan "Legend" is still good and I recommend it, but I don't recommend Michael Jordan "Cologne" because it's been reformulated to the extent that it's too weak and it doesn't smell anywhere near as good as it used to.

My signature scent used to be “Happy to Be” by Clinique. It had a citrusy scent and people would stop and compliment me on how wonderful I smelled. I was devastated when Clinique kept all their scents but this one. I don’t like any of their other scents. What a great video and I enjoyed your perspective as to why fragrances get discontinued. That being said, one of my favorites that you mentioned was Penhaligon’s Ostara. You couldn’t have said it better: it was discontinued almost immediately after it was launched. I love that scent but wear it very sparingly due to the fact that I can never reorder it. I do have all four of Tom Ford’s Vert series and still have some in each bottle. I have more than half left in my SJP Stash bottle but also have the oil. I don’t understand why SJP Lovely can still be found and Stash, which was so much better IMO, and it is not available anywhere that I know of.

FYI you can occasionally get Gourmand Coquin as refill/fill in Bee Bottles at the Guerlain boutiques that have fountains. They seem to randomly get Gourmand Coquin in; I know several places in Europe have like unofficial waiting lists for people to get their fill once it gets in.

Another discontinued scent by L'Artsan Parfumeur: DZING! This was a dirty vanilla with earthy vibes and something like dried horse poo. VERY strange, but lovely ❤

Gourmand Coquin breaks my heart, I have about 15ml left. Cafe Tuberosa I recently rebought a travel spray, I decluttered it last year right before discontinuation! Bad timing. My collection is about 30% discontinued fragrances, it’s by no means like the amazing one behind you but I have approaching 40 bottles and approaching 40 travel sprays. I tend to only keep what I wear.

I think Givenchy Insense is a challenging fragrance. Known as a daring masculine floral, the Fougere tendencies manifest later in the drydown. But to my nose it smells like a bucket of ammonia-based floor cleaner sitting in a utility closet with an mop sitting in it, sitting in a dark corner. Ih, and with week old cat pee mixed in to the bucket.
