I randomly found my bottle of Envy in a box that had not been opened since I moved over twenty years ago. I only have about 2-3ml left and I don’t know when I lost my cap. Gave it one spray and it still rocks. It’s such a shame when these companies discontinue such classics with no explanation.

Since I’ve been collecting whenever I here of frags I like being discontinued I try to pick up a bottle for the future. Luckily paying attention to KZbin is a great help. As is this video. I’ve been able to read the tea leaves and buy rive gauche bulgari black grey vetiver edt and Tom ford for men edt more recently I picked up Aramis tobacco reserve and Gucci guilty absolute. I really missed the boat on Gucci envy and rush. Currently I’m ISO Bulgari le gemme opalon I like knowing I have them. And if I never get to them I will either sell online or pass them on to loved ones.

I haven’t had Origins Ginger Essence in my collection for years. I guess Estée Lauder is thinning the herd to focus on brands like Tom Ford. Angel Muse. I’m so glad you mentioned “her”. I will be so bummed out when that sexy bottle is used up.

I used to wear Gucci III in the 80s. The bottle I have now is from the 80s, and it still smells fantastic. I was surprised to hear you call it a white flower bomb. I thought it was a chypre. I was recently looking for Origins Ginger Essence and was very disappointed to find it discontinued. It was such a lovely fragrance. The ginger body cream, body wash, and salt scrub have the same smell to them, but they don’t stay on the skin.

Along with Gucci Envy for Men and its clones, I have bottles of Amouage Bracken Man, Polo Crest and Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Parfum. I didn't know Bracken Man was discontinued. It is like Fougere Royale but more photorealistically Fougere. Smells like a green fern, it roots, all in a moist, muddy marsh. The cloves help form that accord.

Pure malt and pure havane from mugler are some of my favorite fragrances ever, mostly pure malt. Out of my 100 bottle collection its the only fragrance i have 2 backup bottles of 😅. Also the body shops white musk for men was changed to a unisex fragrance called blue musk, its supposedly the same formulation but now only comes in a 60 ml bottle for the same price it was before

Love Carven Homme. It was the late Kev Samuels that actually convinced me on it. That one and Fath Pour L'homme. Definitely agree with Polo Crest. Along with the OG, my 2 favs from the brand. Really makes me wonder what's going to happen to the grey market in the future. Already I'm seeing members/rewards programs on some sites that favour the higher spenders, giving them access to new vintage stock before anyone else; and as the market continues to change, it's becoming so competitive and full of FOMO that the hobby itself may need to evolve or risk going on long-term hiatus. Sam from My World of Fragrance once filmed a vlog in the middle east that included a man who could re-create any fragrance you brought in on the spot. Makes me wonder if machines like this already exist and if the future will boast these kinds of on-demand recreation boutiques? Essentially contractors for these flavour houses with limited rights to the exact formula, to reproduce it in its original state - all allergens intact - at the expressed consent of the individual customer. Semi-bespoke, given current regulations. Someone should submit a proposal. 😆

Great video as always Sebastian. I just sold my D&G By Man, I felt it was very underwhelming. I would’ve loved to keep it just to have it in my collection from a collectors aspect but I can’t justify keeping it just to have. It’s mainly a powdery amber with a slightly (very slightly) classic fougereish backbone. To me not worth the hype or price at all.

Lancome Hypnose is pretty good. It is very similar to Canali for men which has been discontinued for a long time despite being very popular.

This is just my view and I think any man 40+ should own a vintage Kouros, vintage Antaeus, vintage Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Antidote Viktor&Rolf and vintage Eau Sauvage Dior. They are worth the money and they are timeless scents.

I bought "D&G By Woman" fairly early in my perfume journey for about $150 and fell in love with it. I only save it for special occasions though. I initially tried it out purchasing a 5ml dabber bottle. I think it's a very unique and sexy fragrance. I'd like to smell the mens version and maybe I can find a 5ml dabber of that one. I remember when the D&G Pineapple perfume came out, I'm surprised to find out its already discontinued! Why do brands ways discontinue their more popular scents? Im sure there are a lot of factors we are not aware of though. Another favorite discontinued gem of mine is D&G Siciliy. (which I'm aware they revived in the Velvet collection - for double the price - but am not paying that amount to see how it compares)

I found a seller on Mercari selling mini 15ml bottles of Gucci envy for somewhat reasonable prices so I live with that one of my little gems in my collection that I wear sparingly. Don't love it enough to pay over the top prices for a bigger bottle though even though the 15ml ran me like $60. I realize I like other fougeres in my collection more than it.

If any one wants a dupe for Gucci envy, you can find a solid version of it from Solid State fragrances, their fragrance of Drifter is a fantastic cheap dupe of Envy (about $20usd)

Good evening. I just wanted to share one of my favorite discontinued fragrance on here and that is Tabaco Latino Eau de tabac from 2003. It’s like smelling a fresh sweet rolled up cigar. Have you tried it? The notes are: Top notes are Rum, Carrot, Laurels, Clary Sage and Artemisia; middle notes are Coconut, Raspberry, Freesia and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Tobacco, Sandalwood, Amber, Musk, Fir Resin, Honey, Cedar, Vetiver, Peru Balsam, Vanilla and Immortelle.

If your mom likes BEAST frags and thinks Angel Muse is weak, then I need to know what she's using 😅 please make a video on your mums recommendations 🙂 I love beast mode frags, I need to be able to smell my own perfume all day and night, and for another week on my clothes haha. Mugler Angel Muse is a powerhouse. I have a backup of both, the edp and edt, got them for £55-75 each just a year ago, which now are £100-150 on UK ebay. Nowadays if I like a perfume I double purchase to have a backup from the same time (very important!) as its crazy how lately IFRA works and there's a reformulation each few years 😢 in the 90s or early 2000s that wasn't a common problem. Now you buy a new frag and after 3y it's watered down, reformulated or discontinued, so I just invest in backups 😅😅😅

It's a bit confusing with all the different stories. Someone said below it is coming back. I was told in January it's coming back even with the product completely removed from their website. Well it never came back and I was told it's discontinued now so I don't know about this scent. Also the body products do seem to be online still so uncertain if they will get the ax or not.

@@ThePerfumeGuy the confusing thing about Origins is that they only had a handful of fragrance releases which they’ve all discontinued (2 of which I’ve owned). But their best seller has always been Ginger Essence. Why discontinue a bestselling flagship fragrance? Doesn’t make sense when it’s the only fragrance they’re known for. The Ginger Essence body products still seem to be available here in the UK, but the fragrance is nowhere to be found.

If it comes to Mugler Angel Muse edp and edt, the main difference between them and the original (to me) are: let me start with saying Mugler Angel is a masterpiece, hate it or not, but that's the GOAT gourmand and if it wasn't for Angel, half the frags we have on the scene wouldn't even exist. Now after I said that, I'll go a bit further...Angel Muse is even better then the OG. Angel Muse has more praline and chocolate than the original which is a lot more dirty patchouli and to some might stink of ripe fruit 🤷🏼‍♀️now, the edt is more fruity, tart, with a sour opening, if comparing to edp muse, but after a while, the drydown is somewhat the same... not huge difference so if you only have one you're not missing out. I prefer edp as I like creamy and rich frags, but the edt is still heavy and v long lasting for a edt. I'll also compare the edt Muse to Mugler Fruity Fair. They have a lot in common! Both have noticable fruity opening, but Muse still has that very noticeable chocolate mid note, which is to die for! If you can't get your hands on Angel Muse edp, or even edt, I recommend checking out Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense. Heavy on patchouli and choc 🍫Thank me later 💁🏼‍♀️
