The whole smoking and Walt is actually true he was a very heavy smoker and would most likely always have a cigarette in his hand and yes the company air brushed the cigarettes out of the pictures

In regards to characters, “magical moments” do still occasionally happen, or at least they did back when I visited in 2015. I saw Aladdin and Jasmine on the flying carpets as well as rode the carousel with Cinderella’s Step Family. I’m not sure how much they do it these days but sometimes early in the morning you might get to walk around with the character as they give you a “tour” of their section of the park.

This is so awesome!! I’ve heard a couple stories like that but it seems far less frequent in WDW now compared to Disneyland sadly, and also only really in MK

I attended Disneyland when I was 9 years old and Disney World when I was 12. Even at 12, I found the rides and experience more geared towards the younger children. I love Harry Potter and swimming with dolphins, sharks, and rays at Discovery Cove. It is not likely that I will return to Disney World, but I have subscribed to your channel because I love your stories and the way you tell them.

The thing about the Disney point is 100% true. It was done because Walt didn't want people to know that he smoked.

I was a cp back in 2005 and i did actually hear about the "Disney point" being based on Walt Disney. However, i was told by training that it was more just because it is an inoffensive hand gesture, whereas the single finger point is seen as rude by some cultures.

I work at a waterpark, and we do the two-finger point or just point with our whole palms... it’s not a strictly Disney thing, it’s just polite! Lol they really tried to make it sound like Disney came up with it
@emilyswanderland5 жыл бұрын
So I’m pretty sure they started it, because before Disneyland, theme parks were just a bit of a mess. Most places today modelled their standards after DLR and later WDW so it’s likely taken from that, but no they are not the only company that now teach it.

I just love your videos! I live with a condition that prevents me from eating normally and depend on IV feedings for all of my nutritional/hydration needs. At most, I can only eat around one tablespoon of certain foods a couple of times a day. I’ve got a card I carry to hand to waitstaff that briefly explains that so I don’t have to go into details at the table. So, when we went to the character lunch at Crystal Palace I handed my waiter the card which asks them to let me share a meal or order off the kids menu. I realize most of the cost for character luncheons is for the experience and not the food, and would have paid full price if they couldn’t reduce my meal. When we got our drinks, they let me know it was taken care of. We got our food and I had what would have been about 3 bites of food for a normal person. After watching me pick at my food for awhile (which is exactly what I do everyday) the waiter came by and said they would be more than happy to have the chefs prepare something for me if I couldn’t find safe foods at the buffet. I thanked them very much, but I really enjoyed the food I had. I was shocked to get my bill and saw they didn’t charge me at all! I’m not one of those people who think everyone owes me something because I’m disabled. There are some accommodations that allow me to stay and enjoy the parks for 4hrs instead of 2. But, I will never get angry or be rude if the place I’m at can’t make those accommodations. Probably one of my biggest pet peeves is when a disabled person is very vocal about pointing out the inequities of being disabled and insist they be treated the same as everyone else. And yet, when told to go the end of the line(for example) like everyone else, they pull the disabled card and insist they be treated fairly. Uh...if an able bodied person would ask the same questions, they would also be told to go to the end of the line! Disney parks are fabulous about making accommodations, so if you feel you need more accommodations than they have already offered then I feel it’s the individuals responsibility to go back to guest relations and explain how your current card is not adequate for your needs! Yelling and crying at cast members is not the way to go about it🤗sorry I kind of went off on a bit of a tangent...

With the asking custodial for directions, I kinda get it. Mostly because I work backstage and don’t always know every location onstage, because I work across both California parks. But I’d say really any onstage CM will know

Also, Disneyland doesn’t really just “let characters go on rides” belle, Bert, and marry Poppins will sometimes go on the carousel, but that’s it

I still use the 2 finger point in my everyday life especially if someone asks me where something is. There are codes for practically every role and comes in quite handy. I think that I even had to use guest relations one day after work because I had lost my lanyard which had my housing id and apartment key. The items were not left anywhere in the park i was working in but in the Lyft drivers car that I used to get to work. I was able to get them back the next morning before I had to leave for work.

I actually would have to agree that the halloween/christmas party tickets are a bargain. You can start getting into the parks at 4 pm with them and the parks are open until midnight for the parties... thats still an 8 hour park day for a pretty decent amount less than a day ticket, not to mention the free treats, special shows, and lower ride wait times!

Wow. That comment about when you should go to Guest Relations was SO rude! (Not you, the person who originally said it!) Also, about the special holiday parties being a good deal is correct for some people, as it is for my husband and me. We have never been to Disney World (Disneyland, many times) and are going to MNSSHP on September 17th. We paid $79 a ticket, can go in at 4:00 and stay until 1:00 in the morning. That's seven hours. We will probably be able to do more than some people can do in an entire day and see special shows and parades and go trick or treating. Compared to the $124 if we were there between 9:00 a.m. to 7 p.m., we got a great deal!
