Thank you for this video! Before I heard about the new DJI mics, I ordered the Rode GO Wireless. Unfortunately, the receiver wasn't working so I just sent it back. This video answered all the question I had in my head when I first heard about the DJI mics. We all know Rode has a long standing authority in audio but I actually like these better. I love the mini tripod + ball joint option as I sometimes find myself in a position where I'd like a traditional style mic but dont want the hassle of trying to hook one up. I would love to be able to hear my audio as well other person while on a call or in a meeting. Another hack: I actually did found out yesterday that you can record in stereo on a iOS device even if it is not officially supported: Use the usb-c connector for the DJI Mic receiver and get hold of a usb-c female to usb-a male adapter and then connect it to a lightning adapter with usb-a port. Sure it is not the prettiest looking solution but stereo gets served using both transmitters! You’re welcome! ;) Let’s meet up in Costa del Sol to have a IRL test together when it suites you! ;)

And do you think it will work if I put both mics on my two shoulders facing forward as I interact with strangers? My uncle primarily uses his cell phone for business and asked me how he can get a professional voicemail file uploaded to his iPhone’s voicemail. I googled this and it seems no one had found any way to do this. All forums said it was not possible, as iPhone doesn’t allow file uploads to voicemail. My uncle assumed I’d have to play the voicemail greeting from the computer while he holds his phone to the speaker, of course making something that’s supposed be professional, sound not so professional. Then it hit me… I had just received the DJI mic. I put the transmitter into the bottom of his iPhone and connected one of the DJI mics to my iMac via headphone jack. I hit play on the voice file at the same time he hit record on the new voicemail and BOOM! Professional sounding voicemail greeting directly into my uncle’s iPhone! There are so many cool ways to use this mic.

I have finally found this useful Video again. I purchased these Mics a long time ago, so having progressed in other areas and other mics, I have a question. I have setup the Mics to record in stereo, one on each channel so that I can separate them in post. What I then wanted to do was have a Boom Mic, which I have on my Camera all the time, also record the audio to the Video Clip. Is it safe to say I could take the internal recordings from the two DJI Mics, import them into Davinci alongside the Video clip which will have the Boom mic recording associated, and then sync by waveform all of the clips then mix them all together? I love these Mics, but when myself and my wife have them on, we miss the audio from our daughter running around, and she is usually directly in front of the Camera. Before you ask, yes I would put one of the Mics on her, but she is 3 and will rip it off instantly. My Nirvana would be a Boom Mic for the overall audio of the situation we are in, but really great commentary and audio from my wife and I all mixed together. Does this sound feasible or am I missing something? OR should I use the splitter cable you suggested, plug the boom mic into the left channel, the DJI receiver into the right channel but to me that would all be on the Video clip mashed up together and I won't be able to adjust levels of the individual mics .. thanks for any comments/feedback and this is giving me a headache!! :)

I don't understand this channel business left channel right channel Is that the two transmitters ie one is left one is right ? I just got this. Also wtf is mono or stereo as both lines (what are they called? Are they the channels or they left ear right ear) move up and down in the equaliser or audio thing in premiere pro. Need your help. The first time I used these and uploaded my video on KZbin the sound turned out too low. I had set the transmitter to + 3 and receiver to +1. Also I am using a dji Pocket 2 with a dji audio adapter. What audio levels do I set on the receiver and transmitter to get a satisfactory audio if not perfect. Thanks . I cannot find any videos on YT on setting gain levels in different environments. What's the thumb rule for setting gain levels between the transmitter, receiver and the camera.

Sure thing, GH5 on -12db. The levels are way too high on the GH5 so you'll just need to see what works for you with the the DJI gain settings but you can turn both the transmitter and the receiver down and have the backup recording just in case of clipping.

Hey! It'll be fine. The receiver is something like 30g which very little. At most you just need to shift the phone slightly to the side to compensate.

Hey! Correct that you can stop/start the internal recorder via the receiver. But there is no lock on the transmitter to stop the talent pressing the button. So depending on the circumstances you definitely need to keep an eye on the receiver's touch screen to make sure the transmitter recording isn't stopped. If it has been, you can start it again remotely.

I'm wondering the same thing here. I already don't get very good performance out of the Osmo 4 because my Pixel 5 has the volume keys in the middle and can't perfectly balance and it's biased in the direction of the camera side. I'm hoping this could actually help balance things out, assuming it's not making it top or bottom heavy based on how centered it is in the middle of the phone.

Oh, I wouldn't guarantee my Comica adapter would work: Sennheiser lav mics with a locking screw ring don't fit the DJI transmitter! (See video link below) You would have to try it to be sure: The screw fit is slightly different Comica vs Sennheiser, and my Comica looks different from the Amazon Comica photo! Possibly Comica 3.5mm plug sticks out a bit more - maybe you can use Comica on Sennheiser kit, but not vice-versa. I have seen Chinese clones of Manfrotto tripod adapter slide plates work that way: one-way compatibility! I would guess 80% probability it would work ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWGok5h8Za2DaLc

Hi Stewart Before i spend another hour - 12 hours already gone trying to find the answer to this , Could you let me know if you know. I am using Mavic 3. If i do a mastershot and then use one of those cheesy DJI pre-made templates and then export it its only coming out at 1080P , The mastershot was filmed in 4K but when i use those DJI templates its converting it to 1080p. Am i doing something wrong or can you not get 4k if you use those templates ? Thanks so so much

I haven't tested it but I suspect the exports are limited to 1080p. I'm pretty sure the DJI Fly app's built-in editor still exports at 1080p too.

Did you notice that the audio tracks when recording directly into the DJI Mic transmitter/mics DO NOT SYNCH IN PREMIERE PRO?? The process runs, and they get close, but I've been recording with two of these for two subjects, and they not only don't synch, they aren't even off by the same amount, so I have to manually tweak BOTH audio sources manually! This has happened in all three projects I've used them on since purchasing them.

@@erikpreston2393 I figured it out!! There is a SERIOUS issue built into the DJI Mic system, that they've acknowledged to me and are actively working to address. The problem wasn't 'drift', it's that as onboard recordings start to accumulate on the Transmitters/mics, small audio 'snags' (for lack of a better word) start to appear. They garble split seconds of audio and slightly pull the rest of the track after them out of synch. The more recordings you keep on them, the more these snags appear in subsequent recordings. Right now, this is NOT FIXED. The two workarounds are to either record via the receiver directly into camera (which works fine) or reformat the transmitters in between each recording (I've tested and confirm the snags do not appear on the first recording on a clean drive). DJI swears they are working on a firmware update to address this, but for now, it could happen to anyone recording with the transmitters!!
