Great post guys! In the case of your suggestion of recording four audio sources to a DSLR, perhaps it's worth mentioning the backup recording redundancy of the transmitters, letting you re-mix the four tracks in post if necessary

Good to see you here Ben! Indeed, you could have a go at recording all 4 into the camera but if it doesn't work for whatever reason you still have the option of editing the 4 tracks independently. Cheers!

Thank you for this video! Before I heard about the new DJI mics, I ordered the Rode GO Wireless. Unfortunately, the receiver wasn't working so I just sent it back. This video answered all the question I had in my head when I first heard about the DJI mics. We all know Rode has a long standing authority in audio but I actually like these better. I love the mini tripod + ball joint option as I sometimes find myself in a position where I'd like a traditional style mic but dont want the hassle of trying to hook one up. And I'm able to get all 3 for what I paid for the Rode Go Wireless. I'm buying all the stuff from your links so you get the credit! You just gained a new subscribers. Thanks again!!

My uncle primarily uses his cell phone for business and asked me how he can get a professional voicemail file uploaded to his iPhone’s voicemail. I googled this and it seems no one had found any way to do this. All forums said it was not possible, as iPhone doesn’t allow file uploads to voicemail. My uncle assumed I’d have to play the voicemail greeting from the computer while he holds his phone to the speaker, of course making something that’s supposed be professional, sound not so professional. Then it hit me… I had just received the DJI mic. I put the transmitter into the bottom of his iPhone and connected one of the DJI mics to my iMac via headphone jack. I hit play on the voice file at the same time he hit record on the new voicemail and BOOM! Professional sounding voicemail greeting directly into my uncle’s iPhone! There are so many cool ways to use this mic.

I have finally found this useful Video again. I purchased these Mics a long time ago, so having progressed in other areas and other mics, I have a question. I have setup the Mics to record in stereo, one on each channel so that I can separate them in post. What I then wanted to do was have a Boom Mic, which I have on my Camera all the time, also record the audio to the Video Clip. Is it safe to say I could take the internal recordings from the two DJI Mics, import them into Davinci alongside the Video clip which will have the Boom mic recording associated, and then sync by waveform all of the clips then mix them all together? I love these Mics, but when myself and my wife have them on, we miss the audio from our daughter running around, and she is usually directly in front of the Camera. Before you ask, yes I would put one of the Mics on her, but she is 3 and will rip it off instantly. My Nirvana would be a Boom Mic for the overall audio of the situation we are in, but really great commentary and audio from my wife and I all mixed together. Does this sound feasible or am I missing something? OR should I use the splitter cable you suggested, plug the boom mic into the left channel, the DJI receiver into the right channel but to me that would all be on the Video clip mashed up together and I won't be able to adjust levels of the individual mics .. thanks for any comments/feedback and this is giving me a headache!! :)

Amazing vid! Can you start the recording on both transmitters at the same time using a single button on the receiver? And do you think it will work if I put both mics on my two shoulders facing forward as I interact with strangers? Would it be a good configuration to capture my voice, as well as the voice of the strangers, at a similar volume? (Without plugging the receiver anywhere, and in which case, where does it store the data, on the transmitters or the receiver?)

What’s your workflow for getting the audio files off the transmitter and on to an iPhone/iPad?
@mauromonezi Жыл бұрын
First of all, sorry my english! ehehehe I´m using 4 transmitters of DJI MIC for theater. The two receiver go to the sound system for the audience and also we are recording direct on the transmitters. The recording is perfect. But we have a problem sometimes, that the signal of the transmitters of the "receiver A" maybe is getting in the "receiver B", So, in the sound system we can hear some audio drops or the audio pops..There is no problem on the intern recording, but in the sound system we have these issues. Yestarday on tonight show, we put the receivers away from each other. One on the left of the stage and one on the righ of the stage. And kind works better. If only the DJI MICS could change the frequency of the transmitters... You know something like that?

Yes, Yes, Yes and definitely YES! Oh, sorry. I was just reacting to your Intro. Stellar video guys, definitely going to try all of these once I get mine :) I'm the guy that has been asking for the SPL value of the DJI mic, if you remember. Well I'm just going to write it here for all others interested: It's 114 SPL. Just as a reference, here's the competition: - Original Rode Wireless Go = 100 SPL - Rode Wireless Go II = 100 SPL (but they added a PAD option that's like lowering your highlights in post - because they couldn't physically change the properties since it's the same capsule) - DJI mic = 114 SPL - Other wireless systems that I researched = between 110-120 SPL This, coupled with what you guys showcased that you can INDIVIDUALLY change the gain on each Transmitter is actually the reason that I'm going for the DJI instead of the Rode as my upgrade. And I feel like not a lot of KZbinrs point this out. To me, this is the major difference between these 2 competitors: SPL and individual gain. I don't know why it's not that often mentioned. As a background: I already shoot with a splitter (mentioned below) and an original Rode Go, giving me 2 tracks of audio on the same video (already synced). Sometimes even a recorder that I sync in post. Now I'm looking to up my game by doing something similar to what you've showcased, with a DJI mic (that mixes 2 channels) + a Shotgun mic (the Azden SMX) for any ambience. Technically still 2 tracks in post, but one of those tracks is the DJI mic which is a mix of 2. If I do my setup right (the gain on each one) and if everything goes according to plan, audio should be good right out of the box, however, if something happens (annoying cough, scratches the chest near the lav etc.) then fear not, that's when those 2 tracks become 3, because we have backup audio (very easy to sync because it's basically the same audio as the mixed one). So what you said at 6:20 in the video (curtesy of Caleb), could be expanded by a simple drag and drop of the 4 audio backup files to replace your 2 audio tracks once you have easily synchronized them (because they will look pretty much the same when a person is talking). Here's my splitter that I really recommend: The SmallRig Audio Splitter (search on Google) that's great because it's solid metal and also gives you 2 cold shoes - you should really look into it instead of the cable from your video + the cold shoe bracket. It's a 2-in-1 system. And the SPL was very important for me as, like I mentioned, priests that sing/yell while reciting from their book, usually look down at their book (so therefore down towards the LAV), and the book even acts as a shield/funnel that amplifies the AAAAA, EEEEE, OOOOO sounds that they clip. With my Rode Go 1, I find that 50% of Priests actually clip and that's frustrating. That's the SPL, that's physics, there's only so much pressure that the capsule can handle and transform into a digital signal without distortions. But with 14 more SPL above that 100 I think that this will be solved and they could scream to their heart's content. If you don't believe me, try clipping a Wireless Go to your shirt, hold a rather large opened book on your sternum (creating a funnel) look at it and shout HAAAALELUUUJAAA!. :)) Thank you for the video once again, hoping the EU get's it's deliveries for the DJI mic soon. Should be about a week if I'm not mistaken.
Do you have a 16th tip to actually get one 🤣 I’ve been waiting ages for stock to arrive

Quick question: My workflow is such that my onboard shotgun will be my single audio feed into the camera, in which case I'd want to lav with DJI mic and use the internal recording feature and sync later in post. (So, no receiver in use) My question is what would be the workflow to set the transmitter gain prior to starting record? Would I just use the receiver to monitor the level(s) to set TX gain, and then once set, the TX (s) are good to go for standalone recording? Thank you!

Amazing stuff, will definitely be getting one soon as available. Have 1 question though, is it safe to run directly into a mixing desk for say live interviews and things? Saw something in the manual about not plugging into anything with an output of 24 or 48v?
@NoNonsense316 Жыл бұрын
The +24 or +48 volts is referring to "phantom power." It's for powering mics or other equipment that needs external power, using the same cable that carries the audio signal, without extra wires, extra AC outlets, etc. Mixing consoles that can supply phantom power usually control it on a per-channel basis. So, whatever channel you're going to use for the DJI mic system, just turn off phantom power for that channel. The audio tech operating the mixing console should know how to turn phantom power on or off. On analog consoles, it's usually a physical button at the top of the channel. Digital consoles often need it to be done through menus specific to that console. For example, I often operate a Behringer X32 digital console, so I know how to turn phantom power (+48 volts) on or off for each channel, but there's no physical button like there is on an analog console. It has to be done through menus on the built-in screen.

Sure it is not the prettiest looking solution but stereo gets served using both transmitters! You’re welcome! ;) Let’s meet up in Costa del Sol to have a IRL test together when it suites you! ;)

The speaker has its own handheld mic but if i could use the DJI Mic as a normal mic(via a USB powered mixer for example) i would have absolutely no doubts on buying a set for myself. Sure thing, GH5 on -12db. The levels are way too high on the GH5 so you'll just need to see what works for you with the the DJI gain settings but you can turn both the transmitter and the receiver down and have the backup recording just in case of clipping.
