My wife is from Brasov and we go back 3-4 times a year. Poiana Brasov is one of my favorite places in Romania. Peles Castle is waaaaaay better than Bran Castle. Bran is a cool castle to visit just once but Peles is one that you could go back and see over and over.

It is worth to mention that the 100 year old Romania inherited a few places and buildings from Germans as Rasnov, Biertan, Sighisoara, Peles castle or from Hungarians as Bran castle, Hunedoara castle, Timisoara in the XX. century. Best regards

Whenever it comes to a region that once belonged to the AH empire, a frustrated Hungarian nationalist is bound to have something to say. The Austrians have nothing to say. Neither do the Germans. At no time in its history were the Romanians in Transylvania less than the other nations combined. What you see as loss, the Romanians see as the fulfillment of justice. And don't forget that the Hungarian rule allowed the Romanians to build only wooden churches, so that there would be no trace of their existence once complete Magyarization would have taken place.
