An inexpensive useful study would be to test various exercise methods for acute improvements in oral glucose test, using non-insulin glucose uptake. If muscle tension causes GLUT4 to move to cell membranes, then isometric squats or plyometrics might work. If it's AMPK then the Gibala/Gillen SIT protocol. If calcium signaling, then exercising just below LT1 intensity. Also longer-term improvements in specific exercises that boost GLUT4 like single-leg cycling 4-minute intervals which actually have lower RPE than double-leg intervals.

Corrections: apparently exercise stimulated glucose uptake may involve insulin, and GLUT4 translocation doesn't explain everything. It still would be useful to many people to see detailed practical experiments.

Hi! Would be nice if you could somehow open the studies talked in the interview in to the description of the video. Hyperlinks should suffice! Thanks and keep on the great work!

What I need to do is to start a blog/website. I can then include hyperlinks etc there (assuming ok with copyright).

Excellent information, living Lilydale Melbourne, Hills I have a love hate relationship. Glad I listened and yes heard Prof Louise Burke on The long Munch podcast. Didn't know originality of 3 meals a day, personally now 54 naturally like 2 meals + a bowl of yoghurt for dinner. Light at night is my new diet style. Circadian sleep, light, food ingestion I am paying attention to. Sarcopenia, bones. Questioning how to live a long life & healthy life is fascinating to me. Thankyou.

@@insideexercise thankyou just scrolled through all of your podcasts, will definitely listen as I have ample time. Daily walks of 40,000 steps, an hour on spin bike, rower 30-60mins, weights (my own gym). Watching listening KZbin Healthy Longevity, NUS medicine. Podcast Joint Action Prof David Hunter. The Nutrition Couch podcast. My hybrid bike is gathering dust as Warburton Trail & the weather turn me off. Grew up Cohuna, warmer drier and flatter. Hills are my nemesis as I can't ran. I admire the bike riders I see confidently passing by. My husband aged 59 just had a full hip replacement (no accident, no sport); coincidence pain day after prostate procedure. We are thinking of occasionally doing a little Warburton Trail bike ride soon. Luckily I am only
