All of them. They are close to the American Indigenous people. Though I am a white woman, I was raised around a lot of Indigenous people (different tribes/nations), so I learned a lot from them and their cultures. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the United States from Canada to Oregon. I got great history and cultural lessons when I was young. I never learned their languages, though. Wish I had.

I am Japanese who was born and raised in a small town where is located 60 miles north of Tokyo. My physical characteristics are very close to Ainu people’s ones and I always looked differently from average Japanese. I have big eyes and light complexion, more hairy than average Japanese. I rather look more mix or Eurasian or Latinos. I had DNA test 10 years ago in the US and according to my test result, surprisingly, I am almost 100% Jomon/Ainu descendant which I always suspected.

I am from West Africa. I visited the Ainu lakeside village in northern Hokkaido some years back when doing field research with some Japanese students. The Ainu art and craft looked so similar with some aspects of West African traditional art. I felt in love with the warm Ainu people and their way of life. I took a memorable photo with a Grandmother and her little granddaughter who had a lovely smile. I will always remember that beautiful encounter with such a wonderful people!

You can search on the Internet: The Khoisan People of Namibia, South Africa etc. Look at their facial features, body structure less hair on the face and body. I live in East Greenland, in 19th century there was a hypothesis that said Ainu people may be connected to the Inuit people. I saw their dogs in an old picture, it looks so much the dogs used here. I contacted the University of Hokaido to know if there have been any study, nothing was found. In the 20th century Knud Rasmussen planned a trip to meet all the eskimo/Inuit people through Greenland, canada and Alaska. Unfortunately USSR refused him the entrance to siberie. Here our dogs are protected and we still can hunt and fish to eat. Thank you for this documentary.

Polish ethnographer Bronisław Piłsudski for his participation in the plot to assassinate tsar Nicolas III was sentenced by the tsarist regime for 15 years of exile to the Far East, the southern part of Sakhalin. He was the first to research and describe in detail the Ainu language, customs and culture. After the 1904 outbreak of the Japanese-Russian war, through Japan and the USA returned to Poland, where in 1912 he published Materials for the Study of the Ainu Language and Folklore. BTW, he was brother of Józef Piłsudski, one of the most important persons in the last 120 year of the Polish history.

Studying biblical history is crucial for understanding the connections to Noah's son, whose name, Japheth-Nese, bears a resemblance to the Japanese name, suggesting he could be an ancestor of the Japanese people. His son, Meshech, also known as Mosoch, is believed to have influenced the naming of the Yauza River, derived from his son Ya and daughter Vuza. Similarly, Moscow's Russian name, Moskva, is thought to be derived from Mosoch and his wife Kva. Additionally, the name Yakuza is said to originate from Meshech's son Ya, his nephew Ashkenaz, also known as Ashkuz, and Vuza, Meshech's daughter.

If you have any questions about interpretation and the origins of any names in the Bible, contact Ukrainian scientists. @@projectreracccty4764 What kind of bullshit is this? The word "Japan" is the result of Marco Polo's... I have honestly no idea what. He called Japan "Chipangu", which later evolved into "Japan" of today. The Japanese meanwhile have never used anything like that, instead they called their country "Yamato", "Wakoku", "Oyashima" and more recently "Nippon" or "Nihon", none of which has any resemblance to that "Japheth-Nese" thing you mentioned. Instead of reading fantasy books, you should study some actual history.

There are similarities between the Ainu people and the Native American cultures of the Pacific Norhtwest and coastal Canada. The use of native materials in clothing and homes is especially apparent. Carvings in posts and sticks are also similar. Much of the similarities may be due to comparable climates of both regions, but one wonders if there isn't a direct genetic trace, as well.

Well the native americans decend from people who wandered from the region of Yakutia in nowadays russia and then they crossed the now sunken path to Alaska. There is genetic evidence for this thesis, but also the culture is quite similar to yakutian people. So it may be the Yakutians came down there, too.

Wikipedia says: "The Ainu are regarded as having descended from the indigenous Japanese hunter-gatherers who lived in Japan during the Jōmon period (c. 14,000 to 300 BCE).[72] The exact origins of the early Ainu remain unclear, but it is generally agreed to be linked to the Satsumon culture of the Epi-Jōmon period, with later influences from the nearby Okhotsk culture.[73] The Ainu culture may be better described as an "Ainu cultural complex", taking into account the regional variable subgroups of Ainu peoples. " "There is also evidence that Ainu speakers lived in the Amur region through Ainu loanwords found in the Uilta and Ulch language"

Ainu are a Jomon race from South Asia (India, Bangladesh) but their culture was influenced by Siberians, so you are correct. Your information is vital to understanding the Jomon, whose ancestors migrated to Northeast Asia 45,000 years ago and settled Japan 30,000 years ago. They crossed over on landbridges when global sea levels dropped between the southern peninsula of Korea and Kyushu island, Japan. From Kyushu the Jomon expanded to the Shikoku, Honshu and Hokkaido islands of Japan. Ainu means "human" in the Ainuic language. Japanese called them Eizo (Yezo the old Japanese word for Hokkaido) and the Ainu Homeland also encompassed the northern Tohoku region of Honshu island. 14,000 years ago ice sheets formed connecting Siberia to Japan and the Hokkaido Ainu expanded into the Kuril islands of the Okhotsk Sea and the southern region of Sakhalin island adjacent to Siberia. Ainu oral histories recount warfare between Sakhalin Ainu and the indigenous Yakut people riding -- Reindeer! That means the Finnish🦌🦌🦌 culture extended latitudinally to Siberia and Sakhalin. Anthropologists describe the Ainu bear ritual as Siberian in origin -- which explains your Finnish bear ritual. A 2016 linguistic study classified Ainuic as a Sino Tibetan language, however, linguists classify the Okinawan language as Jomon, who settled Okinawa 9,000 years ago. 80% of Ainu men and 60% of Okinawan men carry Jomon D-M55 DNA and Jomon M7 mtDNA is common to both groups. So, same race yet different cultures due to geographic distance and isolation. But there are similarities as Jomon cultures. The principal deity of the Ainu is the fire goddess Fuji (like the volcanic mountain) and the Okinawan Noro religion worshipped the fire god of the hearth. Okinawan women were also ritually tattooed. Okinawan lacquerware uses the same red and black color scheme as Jomon lacquerware. The Jomon created the 1st lacquerware (the oldest lacquer tree is in Japan) and the world's oldest lacquerware was discovered in Hokkaido. Okinawans were also hunter gatherers until agriculture was introduced very late in 800 CE by Japanese farmers. The physical stereotype of Okinawans is "dark and hairy." From 1100 CE to the 1609 CE conquest of the Ryukyu Kingdom by the Japanese Satsuma Clan, Okinawa had a cultural and trade relationship with China. Much of Okinawan culture became Chinese: Patriarchical system of Kings and Clans, Written language, Shishi (lion dog imagery), Sanshin music, Martial arts ("Karate"), Andagi (Chinese pastry), Basho (banana fiber fabric), etc. The Jomon Ainu-Okinawa spectrum finds parallels in the Irish-Welsh, Hawaiian-Samoan, Chinese-Japanese, East Asian-Native American, Italian-Sicilian ethnic relationships.

Irish polytheism was similar as well. I’ve noticed a lot of pre-Christian religions have some form of animism. There was actually a very interesting study done and it revealed that children, when not influenced towards one religion or another, will naturally tend to form some concept of animism, so it’s arguable that humanity’s most natural instincts regarding religion is animism. I remember as a child I used to fight with adults over animals having souls and I would pull out the Bible and say “‘let every living creature praise the lord’ see it says all living creatures worship god not just humans how could they do that if they didn’t have a soul THEREFORE dogs go to heaven and if they don’t I don’t want to go”

I think many cultures pic and take from cultures. For example Scandinavia and Finland was iceberg long long ago. Tecnically no land has their ”first people” cos people evolve, explore and breed with other places and people. Homosapien is 300 000 years old and was evolved from Africa and traveled all over the world and evolved with the lands and the people they meet. While Homo Erectus (an now outdead human species) lived for 1,8 million years. Yay before Homosapien. Homosapien killen Homo Erectus. So we are not first humen. Some people today have Neanderthal genes. For example. Blonde people and blue eyes was ”evolved” through diffrent genes from asia and Africa over 1000s of years. Due to many people following the ice moutain melting making more land. From diffrent direktions people follow the melting wall and then meet all the others from other directions. That’s why Nordic Countries has alot of blonde. And I think why Finlands people looked more asian then and more blondes now. We are all a rainbow of the worlds people.

My Japanese cousin was shocked when i was born and said i resembled a Portuguese baby. The thumbnail is a photo of me at 2 yrs old with natural blond highlights. My mom had hairy arms and a moustache which she had removed with electrolysis procedures advertised in the newspaper. People nicknamed me La Bamba because i resembled Lou Diamond Phillips. In LA, Mexican immigrants would speak Spanish to me. In NYC people kept comparing me to Jack Palance and Henry Silva. A photog even thought i was Russian. So in 2016 my mom and i did DNA tests which showed we have Ainu DNA. The report said our M7 DNA came from India 50,000 years ago and crossed over into Japan 30,000 years ago. @@christienelson1437 Really great insights! My feeling is that it's all of the above that you mentioned. The Human Genome Project found that all modern humans descend from a common female ancestor in East Africa (Haplogroup L) 180,000 years ago and a common male ancestor in East Africa (Haplogroup A) 275,000 years ago. An important clue is the presence of Black races with ancient DNAs in Southern India, the Andaman Islands, Australia (Aborigines), the Philippines (Malaysian Pygmies called "Negrillos") Papua, New Guinea (Melanesians). Australia was connected to Asia. Oceanic cultures arose 40,000 years ago in South and Southeast Asia. BTW the Jomon-Ainu Maternal M and Paternal D Haplogroups are 50-65,000 year old ancient DNAs from India via Arabia out of Africa. Thanks again for your excellent reply.

Japan has a 38,000 year old Jomon history. Jomon ("cord marked") Pottery Culture dates to 16,500 years ago. The Ainu (Ezo) tribe expanded from the Tohoku region of Northern Honshu. Other Jomon tribes included the Emishi, Kumaso and Hayato. Jomon settled Okinawa 9,000 years ago. The Chronicles of Japan recorded a 701 CE Yamato military campaign to eliminate Jomon ("hayahito" = forest, early people) tribes. By 800 CE the Jomon people and culture were extinct. The Ainu survived the Jomon genocide because Hokkaido wasn't annexed until 1869, a thousand years later. Hokkaido was finally designated an official Prefecture in 1947.

I've read other sources relating to the Ainu and the one characteristic not mentioned here was their red hair. There was a reference to it by Admiral, Commodore, Perry whose crew sailed around all the Japanese Islands. One of the first European Americans to explore the Western reaches of the Louisiana Purchase wrote of an extended conversation with an Indian native about the red scalps on his tee pee. He explained that his and other Indian tribes had, over generations, wiped them out. His grandfather was at the last battle and took many scalps. When British settlers began settling New Zeland the Maori who met them with unsheathed weapons told of "the first people" who were there when the Maori arrived and killed almost all of them. They were white skinned, red haired sailors with connections to South America. We don't know as much about history as we imagine. This was a very enjoyable program well presented.

Now we do. A 2021 DNA study discovered that the ancestors of the indigenous Jomon people of Japan (Ainu, Ryukyuan, Okinawan) were related to the Yana RHS (rhinoceros horn site) people, a European race who migrated from Russia and Iran and settled Northeast Siberia. These Upper Paleolithic (UP) people are called ANS (Ancient North Siberian) and were part of the expanding Yamnaya Culture of the Russian steppes in West Eurasia. A major branch of humans coming out of Africa in Arabia migrated to the Middle East and 60-50,000 years ago diverged in Eurasia to become the ancestors of Europeans and East Asians . Over the course of millennia these groups admixed with each other through migration and expansion. The reindeer culture of the Sami extended to the Yakut of Siberia and Sakhalin island where Ainu also lived. Pretty cool, eh? Thank you for your excellent observations!

Hi there! It's an interesting video you uploaded here, with various facts about the Ainu people. However, I would like to add to some things you mentioned in the video. The Ainu people consist of various groups with similar traditions. One example is that the patterns of their clothing may vary. The Ainu population around Akan Lake is also mixed between the Ainu people who lived there and the Ainu population who moved there from Sakhalin Island by the Japanese. Another example is where you mentioned Yukar as performed by older women. If I remember correctly, in south-western Ainu tradition, young women also participate in the singing. Regarding instruments. The Tonkori was for a long time a dead instrument with no players. The musician Oki Kano resurrected the instrument through ethnographic recordings and descriptions of the instrument. Also, you mentioned that they were skilled hunters with bows and arrows. However, due to a long tradition of trade with the Japanese (which also included revolutions and wars against them), they also gained access to firearms that they used. I hope this adds information for people interested in knowing more. Also, please continue making videos like this and spreading awareness about minorities.

The Chinese character "華" is like the structure of Chinese architecture and the meaning of "China 中華/ Chinese 華人". This structure is a unique architectural technology of ancient Chinese people. In ancient times, as long as the Chinese occupied, Chinese architecture will be built. It symbolizes that this area is Chinese territory and regime. At least more than 2000 years ago. The ancient Chinese always lived in Japan 東瀛(there were more than 100 other indigenous tribal countries on the island of Japan at that time). Now Japan's ancient buildings are all ancient Chinese buildings. Ancient Japanese "traditional" architecture was Chinese architecture. This was designed and built by ancient Chinese who lived in ancient Japan 東瀛/倭(Ancient China regime and territory). These wooden buildings are Chinese official palace architectural technology. "Wood" is a Chinese palace architecture (including temples). And Chinese folk rooms are more buildings "stone". The purpose of using "wood" to build in Chinese official palaces is to prevent other ethnic groups from seizing them. If necessary, the Chinese will choose to burn these Chinese palaces. They do not want other ethnic groups to occupy and use it. Most of the ancient buildings in Japan are the style of the Tang Dynasty. Architects and technicians are also ancient official Chinese. . These buildings are also provided to the local ancient Chinese. About 13th century. Local Chinese architecture was occupied by indigenous people (Japanese ancestors. Japanese language). It also snatched the local ancient Chinese things and books. Japanese original buildings are houses with grass and soil buildings. The same is true for Korea. All this "Chinese" architectural style is ancient Chinese architecture (symbols with the power of Chinese royal power). Whether in ancient Japan, Korea and Vietnam, These Chinese buildings are provided to "local Chinese" living and activities. Anceint japan (before 13th century )= 東瀛 & 扶桑 & 倭 . (the name set by the Chinese emperor. It is also the name of the historical record) Today japan = 日本 Anceint korea= 朝鮮 (and 高包麗. 百濟. 新羅. 王氏高麗. 李氏朝鮮) . (the name set by the Chinese emperor. It is also the name of the historical record) Today korea = 韓國(南北) Anceint Nonth Vietnam= 交趾 & 安南 . (the name set by the Chinese emperor. It is also the name of the historical record) Today Vietnam = 越南 Anceint Okinawa= 琉球. (the name set by the Chinese emperor. It is also the name of the historical record) Today Okinawa = 沖繩

Polynesians have Austronesian (Southeast Asian) and Papuan New Guinea Melanesian (Black Asian) Y DNA ancestries. Their mtDNA is B4, a rare East Asian (Chinese) DNA also common among Native Americans. Ainu are Jomon descendants: D-M55 Y DNA and M7 mtDNA, an ancient South Asian race from Arabia via Africa. They migrated from India and Bangladesh over 45,000 years ago and settled Northeast Asia -- making them an older race than East Asian Mongoloids (Native Americans). 30,000 years ago the Jomon crossed over to Japan on land bridges when sea levels dropped and after 13,000 years of geographic isolation created the world's 1st pottery culture 16,500 years ago. (They also created the 1st lacquerware.) Jomon means "cord marked" and was coined in 1882 by renowned American zoologist Edward Morse who discovered intricately designed sherds in Japan shell middens. 2015 DNA research of Ainu discovered European and Middle Eastern genetic alleles associated with the formation of facial features, which explains why 19th century accounts described Ainu as a non-mongoloid race with Caucasian features. However, assimilation by Japan and the Ainu custom of adopting Japanese orphans have changed their appearance into East Asian Mongoloids.

I know that some Swedish Sami connected with the Ainu. They apparently got along really, really well. Tried on each others clothes and such. Exchanged cultures galore. Funnily enough, when they wore the other person's clothes, it was hard to see which one was Sami and who was Ainu. So they might not look like the average Japanese, but at least there are some people out there they look similar to. Sadly, the Sami and the Ainu have a lot in common, and not only in their beliefs, but in how they were treated by their respective states. Sad but true.

Only geneticists can answer those questions, however, it appears that they have yet to ask those questions.

From the pre -Qin dynasty, there have been 4 times large -scale immigrants from Chinese Han people to enter the Japanese islands and Korean Peninsula, which have a profound impact on the historical trends of China and Japan and ( Korean Peninsula ). Focus on reference materials : Yayoi period (300 B.C. - A.D. 300) 彌生時代 Kofun period (300 - 645) 大和時代 Asuka Period (538-710 AD) (645 -710) 飛鳥時代 Nara period (710-794) 奈良時代 Heian period (794-1185) 平安時代 Chinese Han people's four large -scale immigrants enter the Japanese islands record : 1. Qin and Han Dynasty Qin Shihuang (秦始皇 259-210 BC) swept the six regions. In order to escape the war, the Chinese people fled to Japan in two ways: Some Chinese people crossed the sea from the Northeast to the Korean Peninsula to Japan. Japan. 2. During the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties (420 -589 BC) During the period of "Upheaval of the Five Barbarians 五胡亂華", in order to avoid the war, the Chinese people began a wave of migration to a large -scale migration around. Most of the fleeing Chinese finally went to Japan, forming the climax of immigration to Japan. The representative is Liu Azhi (劉阿知), the descendant of Emperor Han Xian(漢獻帝). 3. The Sui and Tang Dynasties (581-907 BC) Chinese Emperor send a large -scale Tang ambassador (they were Chinese )to Japan 倭, while China sent a large number of people and technology and culture to Japan (for Chinese lived in Japan) . Most of these people are monks or cultural scholars. They are left as required by the Chinese who lived in Japan because of the difficult sailing and welcomed by Japan. They often stay and lived in Japan . The representative is the monk Jianzhen(監真). 4. The Song (960-1279)and Ming dynasties(1368-1644) In the Yuan Dynasty, the Han people in the southern Song Dynasty broke their families. In order to avoid the war and kill, they moved to Japan one after another. The representative of this period was scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty - Lanxi Daolong(蘭溪道隆). * The sea between China and Japan is very dangerous. Therefore, the ship of ancient Chinese needs to pass through the peninsula (today in South Korea). It is safer to reach Japan. In addition, the ancient Japanese and Koreans could not enter China (nor could they communicate with the Chinese). Entering the Chinese city must require the Chinese Han identity certificate or pass certificate. Only Chinese talents in Japan can enter China. ***************************** >>>>>>>>> In ancient China. Due to the escape or expansion of territorial reasons. There were many records of the Han people moved to the Korean Peninsula and the Japanese islands (including Okinawa). Establishing small countries and regimes on these islands (representing Chinese senior officials rather than emperor). In addition to the later period of Japan (because of the ocean). The Han regime on the Korean Peninsula has always been the ancient Chinese territory and the scope of direct jurisdiction (but sometimes it is similar to the different phenomenon of political opinions from the central government. It is similar to the situation in Taiwan and Hong Kong today. When the relationship between Taiwan and Hong Kong and the central government is bad. Sometimes they think they are independent countries or claim to be non -Chinese). The history of the establishment of a regime on the Korean Peninsula (Goguryeo, Baiji, Silla, Goryeo , Joseon). It is not the history of the Korean people. Instead, it is the history of the local regime of the Han people in northern China. These royal family and nobles are Chinese and descendants who move to the peninsula. They are wearing Han nationality clothing and using Chinese characters. They also claim to be the Han family. They are like Hong Kong and Macau and Taiwan. The Han people basically speak two Chinese languages (Chinese dialects+Chinese official language), one of the Han dialects that are lost. * There are more than 20 dialects in Chinese Han nationality. Only some civilians and slaves are indigenous people from the south of the peninsula (Koreans). This is very certain. (A large number of ancient Chinese tombs were unearthed on the 4/5 Korean Peninsula today. Han murals (depicting the lives of the Han people in the north), the fairy and god beast of the Han nationality.Han religion. Chinese character stone monument. Han Dynasty coins. ........... The southernmost part of the ancient korea peninsula is unearthed in the original and backward Korean national life tools. It can be seen that the extremes of two different ethnic groups( Chinese VS Korean ) and different civilizations exist at the same time in the same period of the peninsula history.

@@WayOfTheCode No. Native Americans are Central Asian (Mongolia C1, D4) and East Asian (China B2) DNAs. Ainu are South Asian (India, Bangladesh M7, D-M55) DNAs. So different races and lineages. A 2015 Hokkaido Ainu DNA study found genetic alleles (mutations) of Europeans and Middle Easterners associated with forming facial features, which gave them Caucasian features. The archival photos of unassimilated (non-Mongoloid) Hokkaido Ainu confirm that. Archival photos of unassimilated (non-Caucasian) Native Americans reveal that they are a Mongoloid race.

Aiinus are the descendants of the original Aryans from Russia who had extensive civilization before the last Ice age discovered by Prof Kimura of Okinawa university. They are related to the Aryans of Russia and India. I live in Japan and I was surprised to see a number of professors in the universities who look like Indians but they are Japanese. My wife is Russian and she thinks Ainus looks like Russians from the villages around Moscow. The old believers of Russia, who preserved the ancient religion before Christianity also have similar culture as the Ainus.

No. It's more interesting than that. Ainu are Jomon descendants (Haplogroups M and D from South Asia 50-70,000 bp). A 2021 DNA study discovered that the Jomon are related to ANS (Ancient North Siberian) people from the Yana RHS (Rhinoceros Horn site) dated 31,000 bp. The ANS were UP (Upper Paleolithic) people from Iran and Russia 50,000 years before the Aryan migration, who were recent bronze age nomadic warrior groups in chariots. The ANS were part of the UP Yamnaya culture of Russia - West Siberia. The DNA research concluded that the Jomon admixed with the ANS before migrating to the Japan islands 38,000 bp.

The Japanese culture at its core is based upon racism and xenophobia. Their national metrics and demographics are declining and dying sharply. The best and least racist are making plans to emigrate perhaps to world genetic Japanese enclaves as Brazil. Their treatment of Ainu is cosmetic and token. Japanese are incapable of inclusion. The Ainu similar to native Hawaiians strongly desire a separate enclave, reservation or large island away from the destructive dominating culture. The Ainu like the San or Bushmen of the Kalahari desert. Both were widely dispersed peoples who were hunted and killed and finally driven into undesirable lands by the dominate culture. The Ainu adapted to Hokkaido (Yuki Kuni or Snow Country). There is a Japanese movie with subtitles which dramatizes the Japanese intrusion into Hokkaido to colonize it. It's title is Year One in the North. There are many popular movies set in Hokkaido today. It is fun to collect them. I live in Tucson AZ next to the Tohono O'Odham reservation. Since the Ainu and these reservation people share such a similar history, it would be grand to arrange a high school student swap for a year or a steady arrangement. Goodreads.com has a list of popular Ainu books.

You're confusing Ethnicity with Descendency. 2019 DNA research by Takashi Gakuhari and other Geneticists found 79% Jomon DNA in the Hokkaido Ainu DNA. So that issue is settled. Ainu are Jomon. Historians have identified the Ainu as the Emishi Jomon tribe of the northern Tohoku region of Honshu island. Kazuo Hanihara's 1991 Dual Population Model identified the indigenous Archaic Paleolithic Jomon, Ainu and Ryukuans as the same people group.

@@PalaeoJoe my understanding was that we didn’t know where the Jomon originated or how long ago they got to Japan. Are the Ainu considered to be an offshoot? It’s been a while since I really looked at this topic but if I remember correctly fairly recent dna analysis has shown that the Jomon never disappeared but contributed as much to the current population of Japan as the Han. I would be surprised if none of their culture survives in contemporary Japan. Some of the stories and traditions in contemporary western culture go all the way back to the Ice Age. Hamlet’s Mill showed this by examining precessional information recorded in old myths. It also seems to me, though I can’t prove it now, that the events recorded in the story of Noah’s flood (actually most cultures share some form of this myth) took place roughly 12,500 years ago when some comet fragments did cause global flooding and massive climate change (Firestone and West). I bet there is still some Jomon cultural heritage in Japan.

@@JohnAvillaHerpetocultural The Chronicles of Japan recorded a 701 CE Yamato (Han Chinese) military campaign to eliminate the last Jomon tribes (Emishi, Kumaso, Hayato). By 800 CE the Jomon culture became extinct in Yamato. Linguists believe that about 5 Jomon words exist in Nihongo, the Japanese language. The Ainu survived the Jomon Genocide because Hokkaido wasn't annexed until 1869, a 1,000 years later. A 2010 DNA study found that 80% of Hokkaido Ainu men carry the Jomon D-M55 Y DNA and the Jomon M7 mtDNA is common. A 2019 study found 79% Jomon DNA in the Hokkaido Ainu. The Jomon came from South Asia and settled Northeast Asia 45,000 years ago and Japan 30,000 years ago. Ainu means "human" in the Ainuic language. Japanese called them Eizo (old Japanese meaning Hokkaido) and their Homeland included the northern Tohoku region of Honshu island, Japan. Many historians believe the Eizo were the Emishi tribe who lived throughout Japan. Through admixtures with early Korean Yayoi (1,000-300 BCE) rice farmers modern Japanese have 10% Jomon DNA (2021 DNA study) -- but aren't true Jomon descendants which is why the Jomon culture (except for Ainu and Ryukuans) is extinct in Japan. For example 90% of African Americans have European DNAs but aren't regarded as European descendants. The singer John Legend has 30% European and 5% Native American DNAs but identifies as African American.

The Chronicles of Japan recorded a 701 CE Yamato military campaign that exterminated the last Jomon tribes (Emishi, Hayato, Kumaso). The Ainu (Ezo in Japanese) tribes survived the Jomon Genocide because Hokkaido wasn't annexed until 1869, a 1,000 years later.

37 years ago I had a Japanese high school exchange student. I knew about the Ainu people and asked her about them. She had a very violent reaction toward them, describing them as filthy, dirty people the scum of Japan. I knew the Japanese people did not like the Ainu very much, but, that violent reaction really surprised me. I am glad to hear that they are being more accepted today. So at that time, I bought a book on the Ainu people. It was very thin so not a lot of information but it said that the Ainu people had blue eyes. Since you did not mention blue eyes, I think this blue eyed thing in the book was wrong.

It's very interesting yet also rather sad to read this. I'm sure the girl's life involved a lot of conditioning, and the reaction you witnessed was simply a result of that. I, too, am glad to see that the Ainu people are far more accepted today. Regarding the Ainu having blue eyes, although it is uncommon, I believe there is a higher prevalence of this trait compared to other Asian populations. Thank you very much for sharing your story, and I hope you enjoyed the video! 🙂

@@tajup8741 Good questions. Ainu are indigenous Jomon descendants who expanded out from Kyushu island Japan after crossing over from South Korea 38,000 years ago into Shikoku island, the main island of Honshu, Hokkaido island, Sakhalin island, Kuril islands, and from 14,000 years ago southwards to Tanegashima island, Ryukyu islands and Okinawa. Jomon were seafaring explorers and deep sea fishermen. Korea is comprised of East Asian (China), Central Asian (Mongol) and Siberian (Manchu) ethnic groups who formed a unified country around 1,500 bc according to legends during the Goreyo kingdom. However, Historians date the founding of Korea at 600 AD during the Silla kingdom. Jomon settled Northeast Asia 45,000 years ago from India, Bangladesh and Tibet. The 1st East Asian Haplogroup O emerged in northern China 38,000 years ago to become a new Mongoloid race in East Asia -- 7,000 years after East Asia was already settled by a different race of people from South Asia. So the conundrum is that the First People of East Asia were migrating South Asians and the later secondary group of Mongoloids are indigenous to the region .
