A thing that triggers me is the overfixation with uniqueness, in the sense that some content creators or just people in general in the fragance community disregard or even diss fragances only because a lot of people wear them supposedly. For example, at first I overlooked Sauvage because "everyone and their grandma has it", but when I tried it I really liked it and I noticed I've never smelled it on anyone. At least where Im from, the majority of men dont wear fragances, so I dont understand the hate that some scents get from their popularity.

"Synthetic" is also "natural", I mean, everything comes from the same matter dispersed at Big Bang. For example "synthetic" vanillin is still a part of natural vanilla (and a lot of other plants etc). They are just simpler molecules, whereas "natural" vanilla is a complex molecule (chemically). I wish companies would say vanillin instead of vanilla when they use vanillin, or coumarin instead of tonka if they're using just coumarin - disclose and differentiate the absolutes from accords.

Niche snobs. As a niche lover myself, I really hate people that diss designer stuff because their niche stuff is sooo much better. I'm a JPG fan myself and I love the Luna Rossa line and that doesn't keep me from loving more weird, niche stuff. I hate people that think one can't exist with the other.

Yea actually logically best fragrances must be unique, but still less or more wearable in a way that you wont get peopke choked or trash talking you every time you spray it, because honestly almost every house can make something truly unique, but very funky and weird smelling, often leaning to smell like perfume got expired 20 years ago

Yes, perfumery usually contains synthetic and naturals - which IS the way to go. Some synthetic materials smell gorgeous. Some naturals are challenging. Projection is really hit or miss elusive thing- there’s no rhyme or reason- some materials sit close , others project . When u mix stuff together all bets are off - hard to predict . Can you tell me any great coffee scents - I love Halloween man X , and I love that sweet coffee in it . 🥂👍

Also, the apple accord is just a brand's aproximation of what that note might be best interpreted as. It doesn't necessarily mean that everyone will interpret it as an "apple", or that it's "synthetic" if you can't smell apple - there is no natural apple oil so especially if you smell apple it has to be "synthetic". Boss The Scent Elixir has Lavandin Absolute in it and yet it doesn't smell like lavender (Sauvage Elixir smells more of lavender than Scent El).

There was a time when I loved to wear Givenchy Play or Solo Loewe Platinum and considered them to be the best fragrances in the world, exceptional fragrances. But now you can't find them in the afternoon with fire, and if you do, the price will not be $50-100 as before, but $250-300. I don't think they're worth it, although maybe someone is so attached to them that they're willing to give that kind of money. To be honest, I even hated the Y Ysl line a little, at first. Although I never heard 🤣🤣 it, but listened to it, believed and fell in love. With age comes a love for some thing New 🤗💯 I was also very fond of Paco Rabane Invictus in my life. So much so that I carried 10-12🤣👍 boxes of them Oh, and I listened to people then "how it gives me a headache" and so on. Mostly from older girls, younger ones loved him very much, once a girl stuck to my chest on the subway and so drove a couple of stops. But this fragrance made me sick after so many years of wearing🔥🏆

Depends on the notes, the concentration, and how much air is inside the bottle. The more air it has the faster it goes bad. If you have a citrus heavy frag then it will go bad faster. The lighter the juice usually goes bad faster versus the darker juice. I've had frags go bad after 2yrs and others it's been like 5yrs. I haven't had any longer than that yet.

A rampant one - assuming every praised fragrance was acquired for free. As far as I know, not a single designer has ever given out a free bottle. It would ultimately cheapen their image and their main consumer pool doesn't yet rely on a relatively marginal online community that primarily purchases fragrances on a secondary market. That may change with time. In the niche+ arena, I still question whether free bottles really are free if a content creator spends the time and effort filming and editing a video on them. 🤔 That kind of effort is seldom appreciated, especially if the vid rarely cracks 1K views on a smaller platform, or because viewers are becoming increasingly dubious and jaded. On the opposite end, investment bias is a thing too!

Yeah, honestly, I'd rather be around a bunch of niche fragrance snobs than be around a single watch snob who thinks only Rolex is worth buying.

The developed nose one.The you have not smelled a lot of fragrances so you don't understand is another super annoying trigger.

I mean, juice does sound kinda disgusting lol. And I think the reasons people are caught up on performance all the time is 1) people are just obnoxious and want attention so they want their fragrance to be loud and 2) they don't really know about perfumery so they didn't know that French perfumery is subtle, personal, and elegant, middle easter ln perfumery is strong and projecting, and English and American perfumery sit somewhere between the two. So they buy a classic French perfume and complain about it not performing like a middle eastern one lol

Clones triggering people always intrigues me because so many other facets of life are “cloned” and nobody has a problem. Things a simple as your favorite soda or your favorite toothpaste has a counterpart that is made almost the exact same way with the exact same ingredients. It’s capitalism and marketing mostly and that’s a part of most people’s day to day life
