If you get the Mora knife, I'd recommend the carbon steel blade. Much easier to maintain edge-wise. It will rust or patina if you don't keep it dry, but you will be able to achieve a razor sharp blade. And it's not that hard to keep from rusting. Patina is fine.

Thanks for the info. I had the 3” in carbon steel and the 4” in stainless. The stainless is newer, so I can’t tell. I defer to your comment.

The GSI cup is absolutely amazing. It kept my coffee Hot @ 39• degrees for 45 mins. Honestly incredible cup.

So good! I always hated making coffee and putting it in a normal cup, only to find it luke warm when camping in the winter. The GSI keeps it nice and toasty. See you outside!

I checked out some reviews of the saw you showed and found a saw that tends to review a little better. The saw is the Agawa Canyon Boreal 21. From the videos that I have seen, the Boreal 21 seems to be an easier and a bit safer saw to use. The Boreal 21 is safer because you don't touch the blade when opening or closing the saw.

That also looks like a good option. They also have a 15” version. However, it is a few ounces heavier than Sven. Not sure where you are comparing reviews? I just checked REI and Sven-saw seems to have many more reviews. If you decide on the Boreal, let me know how you like it. See you outside.

The Sven saw is what my scout group used over 25years ago. It is a VERY sharp saw which is why we were taught safe and proper use. Folding saws may be slightly safer but nothing cuts like a Sven.

@@soaroutdoors Definitely, I like my cheap folding saw from Harbor Freight when I am solo. But if I am with a group or in the winter, processing wood with the Sven is a snap.

Nice selection of gifts in almost every price range. Thank you. I bought those Leki poles in Sept and they survived a week on The Long Trail in VT. I hope to return next fall w/ them to complete the remaining 85 miles NB. That Jetboil is really nice too. Best buy it w/ a 20% off coupon or on sale.

Thank you! Leki poles are awesome. The Long Trail is in my bucket list. Good luck finishing it up. The JetBoil is not cheap. You can definitely find lighter, less expensive options, but the boil time and simmer are worth it to me. See you outside!
