Just here to show respect to Edward Van Halen R.I.P Brother true legend
@cheri19104 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Great musician, and person. The press were relentless on his addictions. Don’t they get it? That’s when a musician plays best a lot of the times, ( not ALL the time). They sell their souls, feelings and inhibitions to create approval, & money. But they deserve to be honored. Because if one can play that well while on something, then they must be damn good straight! It’s the musicians mind that he/ she must overcome. Did that make sense?

@@0abo713 Are you kidding me? How Metallica, the most well known metal band isnt popular? One is one of their most popular song. Also, Judas Priest, they even had their own parody movie. Iron Maiden has 6 million Spotify followers! Tornado Of Souls is also known for the best metal solo among thrash metal listeners! Van Halen is a world wide big heavy metal band! I mean Eddie is the very very first guitarist every begginer looks up to. How could they be unpopular??? Highway Star is one of the most famous Deep Purple song! I mean, there is no one who doesnt knows Smoke On The Water. Yngwie Malmsteen is also a great star and one of the first guitarist that cames to mind when someone says neoclassical shred. Pantera was the radio metal band of the 90's. They were the ones who kept metal alive. Sweet Child o mine, i mean Gun's n Roses are so popular, you will se a poser wearing a Guns shirt just to seem cool. They are that popular. Bohemian Rhapsody has gone super main stream after the movie. Theres no one left who never heard of the solo. I mean it was played several times on the movie. Led Zepellin, like, you know, stairway to heaven? Also, Pink Floyd's comfortably numb solo is known for being the most emotional solo of all time.

15 is ‘One’ by Metallica and 14 is ‘Beyond the realms of death’ by Priest. It’s ironic how these songs sort of share the theme - both are focused on a reflection by a person who cannot communicate with the outer world. In ‘One’ it’s a soldier with no limbs, eyes and jaw, and in ‘Realms’ it’s a person who’s gone comatose. And both have magnificent solos.

May I go a little deep ? I like when a solo has a closer connection to the basic melody of the song in question. That way , it becomes more of the musicians composing and understanding of how to expand the line of notes , and not pure technique with his instrument. Gilmore does that in ”Numb”. A few of my examples : The Cult-Sweet soul sister Bad religion-21st century (digital boy) Metallica-Memory remains George Michael-Faith Rainbow-Since you’ve been gone Beatles-Back in the USSR D•A•D-Point of view Eurythmics-When tomorrow comes Fleetwood Mac-Go your own way Victor&the blood-Kicks out on a saturday night Give them a go to see what gets me to rock my air guitar like I was 15 again , and not 58.

To Saiad H. Aside from Marty Friedman, the only other guitarist in Megadeth, who could have pulled of Tornado of Souls is Dave Mustaine ( Or maybe Michael Schenker.) himself. That’s the great thing about Dave. As arrogant as he comes off sometimes, he is one of the few iconic guitarists that will let another guitarist shine above him in his own band. That always made Megadeth’s guitar work better than everyone else’s except Iron Maiden. Murray and Smith trade off playing the best solos constantly. That kind of versatility lets you pull off anything live.

Eric Johnson "Cliffs of Dover" Steve Vai "For the Love of God" Several from John Petrucci, some great soulful stuff off of Liquid Tension 2, and a host of other projects. Also check out Trouble "Victim of the Insane", from 3:01 to 3:59. They are like early black metal so the sound is dark and heavy but the solo is really soulful. Dominici "The Cop" from 3:14 to 3:43 Saint "Returning" Pretty much the whole "Too Late for Living" album.
