I love the idea of focusing on favorite pieces rather than a capsule wardrobe! I have a LOT of clothes which I edit twice a year, and I wear and enjoy all of them. I don't get limiting yourself to a tiny number of items. One of the reasons I have a lot is that many of my classic pieces are as much as 20 years old. But looking at favorites, that I can wrap my head around. Also, beautiful pleated skirt on you, very elegant!

I agree! Taking them in a bit on the sides, and maybe even hemming them, would perhaps make you fall deeper in love with them, Alyssa? The extra bagginess and the way they need to be cuffed make them look as if they were purchased for someone else.

@@irairod5160 yes! I have been thinking of this except I have yet to find someone who works with leather ... in a way they were purchased for my mom when we did the Thredup video together ... she fills them out PERFECTLY and wears them really well so she may keep them and wear them as is.

What do you think about a black coat it looks like a sportcoat I picked it up at TJ Maxx for $40 it’s from free people it’s kind of got like a gauze-y material, nice texture but it’s very warm and I live in Texas so we don’t have cold winters. it’s sort of double breasted style but very relaxed and casual. It has sort of the baggy look, sort of like the boyfriend look… Not sure if I’m wording that correctly LOL.. love your vids😊

It's pretty traditional to follow the colors of fall come September, but do we really need to limit our palette? I've been defying this rule these past years and adding a pop of non neutral and fall traditional colors to my wardrobe. Same goes for winter.

I like wearing dresses when I work from home. They help me feel put together and ready for a productive day. I can throw on a pair of booties or pointy flats to run a quick errand and change into my house shoes when I return. If I have to do some cooking or light cleaning in between calls, I put on an apron to protect my outfit. I don't feel athleisure is a "professional" enough look for me to take conference calls in, and I find pants--with their waistbands and zippers and buttons and flies and full leg covering--quite restrictive, so knit, soft cotton, and silky dresses have become my go-to now that I spend 10+ hours a day in front of a computer!
