I am so glad I discovered you! I am for sure on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to fashion, I.e I’m more a fast fashion person. Always inspirational and practical, your videos are, Alyssa! Because of the pandemic, I don’t go out in public except to the gym and for brief shopping trips, so I don’t have the opportunity to wear my nice summer clothing like I used to. But, I do try to at least dress up my pair of longer denim cut-off shorts with sandals, jewelry and a nice t-shirt when I leave the gym (unfortunately, woven fabrics wrinkle when I put them in my gym bag...). As always, your outfits look just stellar on you, and for me, that brings me a sense of happiness in and of itself. Definitely do a part 2 for this!! Stay cool and safe, -Sonya

Forgot this: I think the belt and bag are fine together, my rule is same “color”, meaning any dark brown together, any tan, any beige, any black, any dark blue, etc. I think this gives enough cohesion, without having to match exact shades, textures, etc. (although I still like the traditional style where they do match, also).

Yes to part two! I am pretty sure the shirtdress video was what made me start watching your channel and not miss anything! One thing I really like is that you don’t try to copy different outfits exactly, but instead you are teaching us how to combine things in fresh new ways without becoming beltempo wannabes. I look nothing like you, with naturally curly hair, old enough to be your mom, very fair, and petite. But I have learned a ton from your videos and am much more conscious with my shopping choices. I recently splurged on two pairs of shoes, a cream canvas sneakers that I could wear with dresses, thanks to having watched KZbin videos to see how that’s done over and over, and the second is a pair of red wedge sandals. I noticed how often you put a pop of color/a vibe with basics, and I have wanted red sandals for about six months to get that fun vibe. You do a lot of basics but they always have flair. While I haven’t done your exercise, I’m looking in my wardrobe and seeing that I pull towards that all the time, and that I always try to put a pop of color or interest somewhere because otherwise I feel like I blend into the woodwork! I feel like I learned a lot of that from you and want to say a big thank you. Yes let’s do the second half of the video! -Lyn

Part 2, yes please! I found that my summer capsule items are mostly white, followed by blues and beige, and knit fabrics, rather than woven. I am a comfort lover, and button-front woven shirts and jeans don’t make my top 25 most of the time, but I have been wearing a lot of woven linen in more relaxed styles this summer. BTW, I thought I saw a spot on the left front of your bright blue silk top, if you just steamed it, it’s probably just a water-mark, but check just in case.
