You sure bit off a lot to chew! Quite the undertaking. I used to do a lot of heavy lifting, but as I age, it has caught up with me. I have all sorts of helpers now; hoists, winches, hand trucks, block & tackle, ect...

So this is more of a "look what I can do" and less of a "how to make a cool and/or useful thing" video. Awesome. Would have been nice to know from the start. Can you point me towards any resources that would be helpful for someone who wants to duplicate your creation? Sorry if I sound bitter or frustrated, I'm just finding way more of these type of videos, and very little of the info I'd actually need to build something similar. Thanks.

The wikepedia page on induction generators has many of the useful calculations, especially for choosing capacitors. Aside from that it's quite easy, you just need to get the motor spinning slightly faster than its rated speed

Oh gees that motor isn't that heavy. Then you put it on a skateboard afterwards. Love the comedy.

Great build, but you guys need to get a hoist and additional helpers. Your back will remember this lift as you get older.

I am new to this 3phase motor to generator with capacitors I know about putting magnet on the shaft so I would like to know if there is magnet on the shaft or not
@sugastuff88383 жыл бұрын
There are no magnets on the shaft. Residual magnetic field in the motor core

Ok so how much rpm is rated for this type of generator to produce electricity and what type of capacitors is use

Y'all took the idea of machine skate a little too seriously. If you can buy a 25hp motor then you can surely find a good hoist like a engine hoist.

When are you making pt2? Do you have capacitors? Doing the same thing with 70 7.5 mfd capacitors on a 15hp induction motor powered by a Suzuki 140 HP outboard motor on a 3:1 sprocket and chain drive so the boat can run just above idle and spin the EM at it's 3500+ rpms I think you'd need 100mfd maybe 120mfd(2 60mfd capacitors per phase) I'm no expert tho.
