I don't get the amp what does it mean do you put 1amp for the slowest charge and 6aml for highest charge?
@colibrifpv2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is correct, lower amps ratings will charge slower and at higher amps it will charge faster. Just be sure to pay attention to the C rating of your battery, and that the power supply can support the amp rating you have selected. Why can't you charge the Lipo at higher or max amp? Can you explain? Can the it charge lipos with deans connectors just using the balance port?
@StrillLife Жыл бұрын
I know I'm hella late but I'm just making it to this post since I dug this charger out in the box unused. That's another story. From my understanding you want to your packs to stay in a high resistance state. As the battery resistance wears down over time the battery starts to charge and discharge faster and faster. Just like batteries in cell phones. After a few years or less they don't hold their charge for nothing. Same goes for your lipos. Your already putting wear on the battery especially if you are a hard ripper. So the last thing you want to do is cram a bunch of juice back in the batteries as fast as possible, eroding the batteries resistance even faster.

@colibrifpv2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you would be fine charging at 1550 mah 4s lipo at 2a if you are in a hurry. It would be about 1.5c, which any modern lipo can handle. If you are not in a hurry, you might as well charge at 1a though, since it is technically better for the battery. Basically, by charging at 2a instead of 1a, you are trading a slight (tiny) amount of longevity for the convenience of faster charging. When racing 1/8 scale buggies and truggies many of the lipos I used were rated to be charged at higher rates and I never noticed any difference in longevity when charging them at 2c.

@colibrifpv Жыл бұрын
Well it really depends on how many amps you plan to charge your batteries at, but it's better to err on the side of caution, or in other words, if in doubt go bigger. Off the top of my head, I would say 2w is sufficient for 1a, 20w for 2a, and 40 w for 3a, but if your power supply is not big enough the charger simply turns off so it's easy to test!
