What was the purpose of removing the blue and black wires from the VTX wire harness?
@colibrifpv13 сағат бұрын
Those wires are for an SBUS connection, intended to be used for the DJI remote. If you are using the DJI remote, you should leave them, but if you're using another remote, such as ELRS, you won't need that connection and it's best practice to remove them so they don'y cause interference.

Great review. I have the newer version with the fixed XT60 connector and I agree with you, I wish it was a loose connector. I made a sort of adapter that goes into the fixed XT60 and has a male XT60 connected at a 70° angle pointing forward. This solves it for me because the battery cables are too short to reach that fixed connector.
@colibrifpv2 күн бұрын
I love the look of captured xt60's but it's annoying when they angle them back because you end up using an adapter most of the time. Sounds like you found a good solution!

How much range to expect with that small copper wire hanging out from bottom & pocket radio ?
@colibrifpv8 күн бұрын
It's hard to say exactly, but it should be more than enough for a drone this size, as in 500m to 1km should be very safe, much longer range is possible, especially if you have LOS. You will definitely get much better range if you set your packet rate to 50, it might have come as 250 by default. The higher the packet rate, the lower the latency, but the shorter the range. Set it as low as possible if you are after maximum range.
@vatsalkonkani8 күн бұрын
@ yes. I am thinking to use it as my travel drone on motorcycle. Easy to carry and powerful also. I don’t intend to fly it beyond 1km but sometimes you just cross the limits and it’s better to know these things. If it give 500-1km with this tiny antenna that will be great 😃 Yh it’s 250. I will change that and try it. Actually i didn’t get chance to fly it since i received it. Installed gps for not losing it over water or random places. Gps and elrs goes on to same 5v and G pads but has two uart while tx and rx has 2 uart 1 & 6. Anyways thanks for reply

Came to comments to read what other people are saying about their WS experience. I’m a newbie in FPV and decided to start with WS, the main reason - because I need a tinywhoop to fly at home. Only WS and hdzero has 1s whoops for now. I’ve ordered meteor75 and goggle x, WS VRX on its way as well. Moonlight kit. I’ve decided to give it a try. My main concerns - goggles x, I never saw Dji goggles in person, but goggles x looks good, but not so premium. Painting is fine, but filled text under paint looks cheap. Missing power button, a lot of different glitches on my unit, even produced at the end of 2024. HDMI in - just useless, again, maybe my unit, but I’m not able to get any signal through it. Except the one below. For hdmi out you have to set goggles to standard framerate to make it work with 60hz display. MacBook user? Caddx doesn’t have some agreement with Apple to properly render image in goggles for you (confirmed by caddx support, but it’s a not a part of product description), you will get a pink tint over the image. Say goodbye to any sims on your laptop. So what I have now for $450 for goggles x? (So called top goggles from caddx) Frustration, it looks like it has a good potential, but so many mistakes and qc issues that I’m not sure I should trust and stay with this system. I mean they have a lot of things I’ve been looking for like hdmi in and out, standalone vrx, something a bit cheaper than DJI. I’ll wait for VTX to come and will test it for my application, maybe it will be the way to go, but for now - I would suggest everyone to think twice before getting goggles x, better spend less and grab goggles L, seems like they are doing much better at current state. Anyone else here having the same mood like I do?

Sure thing... the Goggles X have adjustable diopters but I can't recall the exact range. The Integra Goggles use a different system, they have interchangeable plastic lenses that you can insert according to your prescription. @@colibrifpv Thank you for your response! Yeah, I can see that, but that only works if you don't have specific glasses correcting astigmatism. That's too bad... did you buy a RTF from GetFPV or did you build it yourself? Sounds like a bad ESC to me, first check all of the soldering joints, sometimes when soldering is not perfect, there could be a short, or if heat is left on the pads too long, a FET could be damaged.
