I haven't taken much interest in the railways for a long time but I must say how pleasant it is to see these quite old locomotives still earning their keep, and in such lovely condition too!- it makes such a difference to see them gleaming

Agreed - Let’s hope they continue for a good while yet 🙏👍

Love the 37s. That timber train shows just how powerful they are. We only usually see them pulling a few passenger cars.

A good video as always of tractors clagging and as these locomotives are one of the best 1960s british built loco's ever built and they're one of the biggest surviving diesel classes of any BR loco's ever built to date as i think 109 still exist out of 307 that aint bad!!! 😊

Now you're talking. You're spoiling us - a real crowd pleaser! Who doesn't like watching / listening to growling tractors? The chap in the hi-viz jacket at (I think) Shrewsbury station had a ringside seat. They used to be everywhere when I was a boy growing up in South Wales. The HNRC-livered example looked good hauling the logs. I'm going to try to replicate the 37-20-20-37 consist on my layout this weekend. Awesome.

I never fail to be impressed by how quickly a 37 can lay down the acceleration. Even with a full load behind them.

I love the sound of a Class 50, but for sheer power and grunt you really can't beat a '37' at full thrash

Any idea if you can get to know where these types of locos are going to be ahead of time? I live not far from Shrewsbury and would have headed down there to check them out if I'd have known.

Id love to see a hybrid train of the class 37 growler crossed with a class 55 deltic!! Maybe a deltic window on the 37 and mix of the slow speed almost dragon breathing sound of the 37 and the high speed deltic drone!!

The train at 3.29, couldn’t help noticing it’s freight, looks like a small forest has been felled somewhere. Again at 13.18, different train with the same freight or more trees?

Well, at least they’re not American!! They’d have fallen to pieces like Buster Keaton's car after 5 years, like anything made in America, by Americans. Couldn’t build a ramp in a Meccano factory!!
