This is my midnight craving meal that I love love love to make! I use a little white wine as well to deglaze the pan a little after I cook the garlic and tomatoes with a touch of lemon zest 🍋😚👌

i always give this recipe to friends who swear up and down "i can't cook!!!!" or "i burn toast!!!" ....I tell them, "this is a pasta that is virtually impossible to screw up." it's also super fast, and RIDICULOUSLY packed with flavor. It's also healthy too. it's really the best dish to suggest to all beginners.

I worked my way through college at a nice Italian restaurant in Seattle (late 80s). The chef made this dish but added bay scallops and used angel hair pasta - called it Capellini d’Angelo. I make it often - a great summertime pasta.

Capellini is a type of pasta that is very thin from capelli - meaning hair. Has nothing to do with this type of sauce. Also, Italian-Americans are NOT Italian.

of all the delicious pasta dishes you present, this simple one is my favorite. i've made it time and again, with subtle variations, sometimes adding some shallot, or subbing parsley for basil. adding anchovies. throwing in some kalamata olives. it's a wonderfully versatile way to a great meal.

@@smoke3778 Ooh, I hope you try it! So, I would add the wine (about 2-3 ounces) after your tomatoes and garlic have cooked for a bit. He added pasta water, I would add it about 3 or 4 minutes before that to cook off the alcohol and let the flavor cook into the tomatoes. It also deglazes the pan which gives it a richer sauce. If you try it, I'd love to know how you like it ☺️

This pasta is excellent! I'm not great at cooking and I didnt even have fresh garlic or cherry tomatoes. I chopped regular tomatoes and used pre-minced garlic I had in a jar. I was skeptical, but it came out awesome! Great recipe!

Quality ingredients are the key. You don't need to do anything complicated to make them taste good. This is a perfect recipe for home grown cherry tomatoes and basil.

I have been doing basically this for quite a few years now and I can attest to this being such a simply delicious way to eat pasta. ESPECIALLY if you’re in the middle of tomato season. Need to make pasta for a large group of people and wanted to see someone attempt it this way to make it easier than just ‘winging it’. This was so useful!

i used this recipe but let the tomatoes cook more so that they released more juice. and added more garlic and more seasoning than this recipe. substituted basil with parsley because thats all i had. In the end topped it with some cheese and it was so delicious. I'm blown by how simple and delicious this recipe is

I made this discovery a few years ago when trying to think what to do with a bumper crop of cherry tomatoes from my garden ... had some leftover linguine and a small piece of baked salmon in the fridge ... what the heck, tossed some evoo, a pat of butter, garlic and a squeeze of lemon into the skillet, then the linguine and halved cherry tomatoes just long enough to warm through, plated with some parm and basil and omg, so good, I could live on this dish.

MILK? wtf. Go check Mariola, because your and his recipe are all wrong. Add the salt in the begining. The souce and the pasta have to become creamy at the end. Wheres the pepper? You can brown the whole garlic piece, you dont have to slice it. The result will be the same. Best of luck

start with the extra virgin o o from the very beginning and add the tomatoes and later the garlic for betters taste a bit of peperoncini and black pepper and salt and a teaspoon of tomato paste. add pasta water to create a sauce the cherry tomatoes release their natural jiuices it is just delicious, but your recipe is very delish as well

I make this all the time, and I add zucchini and yellow squash, and broccolini (it's like broccoli, but a little different taste, longer stalls, and steams better). My Nonna Leone' called it "Primavera" when we were little. It's how she got us to eat our veggies lol. She would use Extra virgin olive oil, a little butter, and parmigiana to create a simple sauce. SO GOOD! and so easy! I make it to this day! Rest In Peace Nonna Leone'. I love you!! ❤❤

I usually like when the sauce marrires in with the pasta, if not the pasta and the sauce feel like 2 different components, but I guess that last drip of the olive oil makes the pasta a little less dry. It's a different style to what I'm accustomed to, will give it a try
