I don’t think casting is necessarily as broken as the game itself. Casting should have to have some restrictions like 1 person per state and so many from different regions. They could break the country down to 6 regions and take some 3 from each and Canada could be considered any of the 3 Northern regions or even have 20 people and two Canadians.

Bring back 39 days, the producers believe less days keeps people on their toes, but it lessens the bonds of players, and also gives players less time to think because they're voting so much, the big strategic moves we love this show for were often built up over days that these players just don't have.

Idk how possible it is but I'm stoned and think this is genius lol...bring in 40 people and have 2 games going at once on either side of the island without either side knowing...beginning of the game jeff says "we're going back to 39 days"...all challenges are the same for both games...when both games get to 10 jeff brings in one group, says some cryptic shit hinting at a possible merge...then brings in the 2nd group of 10 and says "We are starting over"...

I liked the way they started Survivor Philippines by giving them a tense and short period to grab gear for their perspective tribe right at the start and they used to do it a lot, it’s a great way for the cast to get right into the season but without making it about strategy unlike when they do this with challenges where they earn the tribes supplies… doing it this way ensures an imbalance of who has what at the start

Have the contestants do something physical or interesting. Usually the reward challenges are more interesting than the immunities

I think Survivor 50 should be 3 tribes of 8 totaling 24. Either bumping the season back up to 39 days or more double vote outs. This would add another level of difficulty and allow us to see more returning players. A win win scenario? This would probably only be a one off; new players might not be able to keep up with this pace,while still being entertaining.

Terrible move to cut out jurors, especially with the increased length of the episodes. Not to mention they did a two part finale, and still cut out half the jurors this season. Just why?

I think they should try having larger starting player counts. Especially for 50 since there are so many people they need to give a second chance to. Id personally like to see 24 players, 4 starting tribes of 8, and 45 day game. Of course this is unrealistic and will never happen but thats something i want to see for such a momumental landmark season like 50 is.

I’m big on character casting. It’s no fun watching everyone play hard. Like some of the best moments in the shows history is wacky people doing wacky things. It’s also fun having to watch true game players navigate people who have no idea what they are doing vote in the right way. It just inherently makes everything more interesting

Individual Immunity Win = +1 vote at Final Tribal It was nice to see someone that dominated challenges win since it doesn't happen often. They could make each individual immunity win worth 1 vote at final tribal. This would adds layers to the game theory since there is massive downside to immunity runs (if they end that is).

I think you have said this before but having the final 3/4 be a vote makes it so much more memorable and impactful of a vote. Everyone remembers amandas vote or wu taking tony. These crazy moments where 1 person has total power over whos going to the end. 2. Building off this and to your point. The end game should always be unpredictable, is it a final 2, final 3. The uncertainty creates better moments bc players r unfamiliar with how to approach it. Same goes for the merge, also why did we get rid of swaps. We took out all the variance and made the game dull

For me, themes were huge and going back to two tribes to start mixed it up. Oh, and cast villains The biggest difference though is keeping it at the same location means they rarely battle the elements. Prior Survivor seasons would have rain, storms, etc and you would see everyone battling the weather, being stuck in the same hut even if they hated each other, and battling themselves mentally to stay in it.

I think one of the reasons they don’t do final two is final tribal would have an obvious winner. Most final threes have two people who have a chance at winning and a goat. But if they did final two they would have the obvious winner and a goat. Take for example season 46 if either ben or Charlie won they would knock out Kenzie and Charlie would easily win the season. or if Kenzie won they would get rid of Charlie and Kenzie would win the season. Or in season 47 Rachel would win the challenge and knock out Sam and it would be even more obvious that she was winning.

I had the idea of having a final challenge at final 3. Before the challenge it would be randomly determined in front of the players whether the challenge would be for reward or immunity.

Not sure if anyone has ever suggested this or not, but what if Survivor do a returning season where a player was voted out at each number. (Example returning player who was voted out at 18, a returning player voted out at 17, 16, 15, 14, so on and so down to a soul survivor) obviously you would want them to be all from different seasons, but it would be interesting(at least in my opinion) to see how the players would play this time. Just a thought to maybe shake things up.

1. When we get to the final two or three, the players wake up on the last day expecting to see the breakfast. They look out to see a boat, but it's not the feast, it's the jury. They have returned to the island for 6 hours with the sole operative to interrogate the players why they deserve the million dollars. Think of it as an extended tribal. You can go off and have an in depth one on one conversation with the finalists, then, after the 6 hours, the jury are isolated until tribal that night. This way, the jury can form their own ideas and opinions about what's happened. Not just based on what the most recent evictee says. We then go to the final tribal council, and the eliminated players still ask their questions, but now it gives them a chance to go deeper. 2. No fire making. Keep the idea there, but change it from building fire to something else, like shelter building. Another skill they would have needed in the game. Or do a quiz to see who knows the most about the fallen tribe members. You know, the social aspect. 3. Return the themes.

I wish contestants wouldn’t be told what CBS show they would be participating in before the hotel quarantine. You might be playing Price is Right or Big Brother or you might get marooned for 27 days. My issue is even if a contestant is recruited they could still watch every season and scour Reddit for the current Survivor META. It’s become a sim. It’s also the reason I prefer college football to the NFL. The messy, imperfect gameplay is what makes it exciting to watch

How to fix survivor: 1. Themes based on locations or cultures (even if you don't leave Fiji) - example. you can make Fiji appear to be a a Japanese island in the pacific. 2. change the jury format back to as it was before. 3. Incentivize strong play over advantage and lose a vote stuff. The players need to be able to dictate the direction the game takes. 4. Challenges that are pulled from whatever working theme you have above. Think how survivor China did their challenges. Incredible. 5. Sound design. Take a note from Australian Survivor and how they do their music. It creates more intensity to the game. 6. Lastly I would try to find a way to encourage or boost contestants who partake in ACTIVE gameplay. Most seasons are filled with sedentary players who coast on the achievements of greater players. While this is a strategy, when the game is really just 2-3 people slugging it out until you get the inevitable what I call "Rise of the Goats" episode, it is painful to watch. There needs to be something that either promotes Active gameplay and or punishes sedentary gameplay. If all players are active players, the gameplay and results are sure to write a better story of survival.

Since they’re going to be stuck in Fiji for the foreseeable future, why not have a new aesthetic with each new season? Season 46 had somewhat of a Japanese theme with the tribal council set and one of the tribes being named after a Japanese word. I kinda wished they leaned more into that by having all the tribes be named after Japanese words, and maybe have some challenges and rewards inspired by Japanese culture. Imagine a season inspired by Ancient Greece and some of the challenges were inspired by Olympic games.

"Survivor: FRESH MEAT" I want to start with this: Someone like Carson building full scale replicas of puzzles before being on the show SHOULDN'T be possible because production should regularly change up challenges to be unpredictable. You should have a smaller limit as to what can be studied or practiced beforehand. IRL you can't prepare to be stranded. THE WHOLE POINT of "Survivor" used to be that SUDDENLY you have NOTHING except tribemates, and have to figure out how to outlast everyone else. Changing up the format regularly in general. Make it more REALISTIC. Even though i enjoy the 40s seasons overall, there is a lot of the same storyline: targeting the physically strong/ challenge threat players, leaving annoying people alone longer when everyone just wants to vote them out, people trying too hard to blindside (and way too early in the game), and castaways having too much knowledge on the game structure. I think the most immediate solution is literally to cast people who don't know the "formula" of the show/ how to play the social game (as was one of the suggestions). But also change things up. There are creative people out there who I'm SURE can be hired to make challenges or advantages or season formats more diverse and interesting.

Survivor 51: Back to the Basics where you would have 39 days, two tribes, and a final two w/o any hidden advantages or immunities. 2) Have one large tribe from day one (all 18 players living on one beach voting every single tribal.) Just think of the chaos that would ensue with Andy, Rome, and Gabe linking up. 3) or simply finding another filming location like going back to Borneo, or to another former location.

I'm about to say something I feel like is a hot take, I don't mind the seasons being numbered. This is for a few reasons, its never been an issue for Big Brother (at least from what I've seen) and a decent amount of people watch both shows. ALSO if we brought themes back I feel like production would want to do something that they haven't done before, and if any of there ideas are similar to the last few themes they had on the show like EOE and IOI its more than likely just going to be taking contestants away to an island (similar to the current day journeys) and would just have less time for actual game play in my opinion.

Maybe a long answer but the biggest issue with the show are the fans and social media. Jeff and production aren't perfect, there's a lot I disagree with, but I think the biggest issue is the only players playing these days are fans. Fans playing the game is good for the game, but when you mostly only cast fans of the show, you get a lot of players who seemingly think, feel, and want to play the game the same way. Since we've come back we've had seven seasons and I'd argue we've only had maybe one or two TRULY bitter jurors. I actually think that mentality is bad for the game. Anger, bitterness, crushed spirit, etc. are all human emotions. I love jurors who can put things aside but they lose their luster when everyone seems to do it. I feel like we've completely disincentivized jurors feeling bitter due to fears of the backlash they'll face online. Final Tribal Council feels like a formality outside of two seasons in which we actually had multiple deserving people at the end. Every season it feels like there's an inevitable 7-1-0 result looming. These things aren't good for the game. I think Jeff, prod, casting, etc have their work cut out for them for trying to fix some of these issues, but some of these issues also come from how fans analyze the game these days. You get the same thing even more often with a final 2. The winner of the final immunity challenge always takes the person that would've been ignored with them to FTC and it's the most boring outcome imaginable. By forcing a 3rd person in there, there is a *CHANCE* that 2 real contenders to win are sitting at the same FTC and their answers to the jury actually matter and the final episode is actually relevant to the entire season. You would never get incredible showdowns like Ozzy VS Yul at FTC (where the win was determined by 1 vote that could've gone either way), or Mick VS Natalie where Natalie really got to show how much she was in touch with the pulse of the game and super competent, something that didn't get a chance to be shown much during the hectic larger tribals.

Sol randomly saving her from finding a stupid advantage in food. And then she randomly gets picked for the journey. Which I think the journey in itself being removed would help but I mean the amount of advantages or more specifically the random stupid luck of them is ruining the game. Hide the idols like they used to be hidden. Or clues. All the extra stuff is just that… extra.

1. I do think having longer seasons is more beneficial, I think it would help see more in terms of power shifts, and paired with a swap would make the tribe connections be much more in depth. 2. Would love to see more variety in challenges again, it feels like a lot of repetition or if it is different, it is hardly so. I know in the early 40s it seemed like the majority of pre-merge vote outs were women, and I think a lot of that was the "keep the tribe strong" mentality. I feel like making some challenges focus on different aspects rather than strength, speed & a jigsaw would make for better TV too. 3. The auction is so stupid. The losing the vote when you have the most money is stupid. It just becomes a series of people bidding all their money so they dont lose their vote. Somehow 47 made it worse, by giving people like 20-60$ which in turn just ended up putting these people at risk of losing their vote again? 4. 2-4 tribes & 16/18/20 people seasons. The variety is nice to see. 5. Give players more agency. I get survivor wants to do more twists / advantages BUT please let the players decide on their own. It feels like the production team dont trust the cast to make good TV on their own.

Out of every ten seasons, have two (filmed back-to-back) that are final 2 instead of final 3. In the first, surprise announce (to players and viewers) it's a final 2 at the start of the finale. In the second, tell everyone it's a final 2 in the premiere.

No need for an extra day. Have them leave like usual then bring them back to the old school quiz on how well you know the jurors in front of the jurors. Winner is safe and he chooses right on the spot the person finishing third. So easy to get the perceived winner of the game. It will end the season with a bam! She cut her best friend type to win the game.

how to fix modern survivor in 4 simple steps. 1) bring back themes like brains vs brawn vs beauty or even fans vs favs. 2) bring back 2 starting tribes of 10 & tribe swaps. 3) remove earn the merge & let the 13/12 players merge normally without any random split tribals even aft merging. 4) bring back final 2 instead of 3 (3rd placers are usually irrelevant in ftc & just goats dragged into the end)

4) is stupid. The irrelevant goat dragged to the end just becomes the one CHOSEN to go to FTC by the winner of the final immunity challenge 100% of the time then. No one is going to choose a real threat to come with them.

it's actually fairly easy, in my mind, to add a f2/f3 choice advantage. just plan on having a f3, hide it as if it's a regular advantage, and if the player is still in the game with the advantage at the start of the f5 round, they can announce at that night's tribal council if they change it to a final 2.

I prefer fans cast. They treat it like a game, which I like. This generation grew up with deception and social games as the norm, and so just go for it. Sure, you get too many people discarding tactics for 'big moves', but things end up being more exciting on the whole.

We need more diverse personalities and mentalities being casted, not just the shallowest form of diversity in skin color, having only the latter has turned these casts into carbon copies of each other, with some true diversity of thought we'd actually get a shake up in approaches and perspectives that might lead to new things happening rather than the same cookie cutter approach the new era season has laid out for contestants to follow thus far

My family and I have been watching survivor for decades and the last like 4 shows are so hard to watch for us. If they don’t change it soon it’s gonna get cancelled - I would go as far as to say this is just a bad show now :(

Kyle felt like an actual real person for the first time in the show in forever like we need more people like him instead of purposely picking super annoying extroverted survivor fans who already know the game. I really think the downfall is the people they’re choosing… I haven’t had one person I was actually rooting for in a long time

I’m also sick of people winning when they basically had no strategic clout in the game. Like Rachel won because she won a ton of immunities, but she had NO strategic sense whatsoever. And her so-called “amazing idol play” wasn’t that amazing in my opinion? Like was I the only one thinking that it was just a pretty standard idol play 😂😂 she would have went home for sure if she didn’t play it…like there were legit no other options 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Yeah but that's the thing: Immunity is the advantage some players would otherwise vanish early without. Being savvy is a good thing, I just wish the whiny world we now live in wasn't such an influence. Survivor? After the last few seasons they might need to rename it to "Emo Survivor". Too soft and bland lately!
