Mafia 3 is a great game with all the DLC. Having more variety in missions and ways to make money was awesome. It's also my favorite story of the series, with tons of small details. The devs did a great job with that game, and it sucks to see so much hate. Ghost Recon Breakpoint was not great at first, but again is now pretty awesome. The devs added an "immersive mode" that removes the gear score stuff, makes nights darker, can remove the hud, etc. It makes the game much more tactical. On top of the world events that modify the game world, there is more variety and gameplay to be found beyond just fast traveling between outposts to grab weapon parts. It's a great game.

I actually enjoyed Gotham Knights quite a lot. The graphics look great, the story was good and decently paced, and the combat was pretty fun. The biggest knock against it I could give was being 30fps, which was a real bummer. I really like Callisto Protocol as well. Taken on its own and not compared to Dead Space it was a really good survival horror game. Had some poor checkpointing issues though.

Definitely need Starfield on this list. And with the attitude some of developers and die hard fans have adopted. It likely wont have a redemption story like NMS and Cyberpunk.

Andromeda had issues at launch, but they've been solved (besides the eye issue), and the game is butter smooth too. We've had much, much worse in terms of AAA performance recently.

The crazy thing about Duke nukem is that it gave everybody exactly what they wanted and no one liked its one of the oddest things. when go back and play the old games and you play that one to me it's virtually the same shit so I never understood why people were mad at Duke nukem forever when it was what they asked for lol

Mafia 3 was my favoeite of the Mafia series. Man, I spent so much time in that game just enjoying the world, the characters, the music - my *goodness* the music was fire 🔥 🔥!! I love the hell out of that game. I truly want to go back to it a few time more... after I knock out more of my backlog, though. 😒

While you cannot compare story and gameplay of Andromeda with the original trilogy, it was relatively enjoyable for me after they fixed the glaring issues. It still falls short of the original expectations, but it does have its moments and is not a bad game. I think, I would still enjoy it nowadays more, than I currently enjoy Starfield.

Yeah I like Andromeda sometimes I do feel some reviwers expect too much though as I actually liked Gotham Knights and Forspoken too. Sure Forspoken again wasn't as good as it could have been but I stil enjoyed it. At leas tthe main game but I haven' tgo tround t oplayin gthe DLC ye b ut I'm saving that for when I next play it. It's one of the main reasons why I don' tpa yattention t oreviews an ymoer the yalway sseem to be biased one way or another

I LOVED the first Crackdown. I bought it for the Halo 3 beta but ended up beating it several times over the years. It was just so fun bounding from building to building, gaining agility collectibles and taking down gangs in creative ways. Never played the 3rd one because it got bad reviews. I think I got as far as installing it on Game Pass but never launched it haha. With Mass Effect being my favorite series, I went into ME Andromeda with high, high hopes. Man was I let down. I managed to 100% the game, just trying to find ANY redeeming quality. The story, characters and dialogue are absolute trash. And the SAM AI voice is SOO annoying. I wish there was an option to shut it off. The combat was decent but soulless.

I got the calisto protocol for like 1.50 at gamestop last year. I figured it might be worth a shot at that price. sometimes they have games for super cheap there if you can get them in-store. 13 sentinels I want to say I got for 3 dollars. both brand new too.

Crackdown 3 is on Gamepass, its an acceptably-forgettable game for being free. Personally, I'd say its mistake was not being ridiculous enough. It wanted to be taken seriously when it honestly just couldn't. Be intentionally ridiculous, upgrade Terry Crews from one skin option to the ONLY playable character, and cast him as himself, literally have him be called Agent Terry Crews. Then it'd be stupid fun, like the later Saints Row titles.

Saints Row Reboot was devs spitting in our faces. Ruined the SR legacy and gave us crap, non-main game, barely any gaming, and rushed DLC which was just a bunch of costumes and skins out of legal obligations for those unfortunate enough to buy the expansion. They really should have been ashamed of themselves.

I actually loved mass effect Andromeda and mafia 3. We live in a world where a game can be patched later. I usually end up buying games later for much cheaper and I am more satisfied. Need for speed payback is just a grindy game. It came out at a time where certain company's were making paid microtransactions games. So gamers had to actively choose not to buy the game, to punish company's for doing this.

I really enjoyed Ghost Recon Breakpoint. I tried the demo, and due to poor reception it was reduced in price quickly so I bought it. (204 hours game time.) Also, Forespoken is at 77% user score on Steam over the last month. Callisto Protocol at 78% over the past month.

What I'm seeing from the comments is the real truth of it all--we all have different tastes on what we want in gaming. If a game is considered a disappointment, it simply is talking about revenue and widespread public opinion, but my gaming tastes don't always match up with either. A key example is when I played Crackdown 3 a few years ago, it was one of the best games I had played that year. I had a blast with it. And I read all of the negative reviews about the game prior to my purchase. Been when I viewed a video of the gameplay, I knew it would be right up my alley. The little I've played of Gotham Knights, I have enjoyed. Also have had a great time with Marvel's Avengers. I found that I like Ghost Recon Breakpoint just as much as Wildlands. So while I take into consideration what people say about different games, it is no more than a grain of salt to me. I know what I like and what I'm looking for when I play a game. I find it more beneficial to watch gameplay videos (without commentary) rather than viewing, reading, or listening to reviews.

Like, I get Thief and Duke Nukem being on the list, and while they weren't great, I thought they were both okay. But I can see them being disappointing. I had a lot fun with Forspoken though; it's in my top ten games played in 2023.

My takes on Thief, Extraction and Forspoken I actually liked Thief. Then again, I didnt play the original so I had nothing to go off other than what I played. Was it amazing? No. But it was enjoyable, IMO. Rather than a game though it felt like one long stealth minigame. Like, sometimes I would load up the Arkham games just to play the Combat and Stealth challenges. It felt like that. It felt like I was exclusively playing stealth challenges rather than an actual game. Extraction boggles me how they messed that up. Most of what was in Extraction, especially its operators were copy-paste from Siege, and the game itself was basically an event from 2012 that they tried to turn into its own game years down the line. Yet there was so much behind the scenes turmoil and direction shifts that they game just lost the plot completely. Forspoken...I admit I was hype when I saw the initial trailers because of how the running looked. It made me think of Infamous but in a grander open and almost borderlining Prototype in potential sheer chaos from the powers on display. If the gameplay itself was fun then I could have bypassed the story stuff but it just wasnt there.

Anthem's design was EA being a cheap publisher. They also locked SWTOR features behind a subscription or microtransactions like helmet visible or not and the number of credits being limited to 1 million for free to play players. Paying for some things is fine, but, Anthem's incomplete campaign was EA,s greed, minimal investment, maximum dollar. The gaming community should not stand for this anymore.

when i came to Crackdown 3 first trailer i ever saw was the "Beast" trailer as i call it due to featuring Chris Classic´s song and upon seing the action i simply assumed i would be rather action packed game with that action gameplay as it bread and butter and did not bought the claims of destructibility as such. And with that i actually enjoyed the game a lot.

I wasn’t dumb enough to buy calisto protocol, when dead space remake was around the corner. But after playing a copy a friend got I wasn’t super disappointed. It was shallow. But it had a lot going for it. I think a sequel could fix all the issues and potentially be a really good game. If.
