Or the Mercedes-Benz Unimog. Totally german engineering product although they later on had some co-operations with Studebaker it´s been written (hint: the hood and grille on the Silver Hawk mimics the MB luxury passenger cars, fun fact is that Studebaker also had an unrealised prototype built by Porsche in its late years), until they merged with Packard before closing the shop. The Unimog seems to have been initalized by some smaller firm before MB stepped in with their bigger resources to get it going into the broader market. The vehicles name is an acronym for UniversalMotorGerät, a universal motorized appliance.

Your research sucks. Your segment on the 1955 Chevrolet Cameo never once displayed a 1955 p/u. The leadoff photo showed a '58 or '59 p/u someone mounted the fiberglass Cameo bed on. '58 was the 1st year of quad headlights for Chevy/GMC, alsio the year they debuted their slick sided steel "Fleetside" p/u box. The Cadillac & Packard "p/u"s weren't produced by those auto makers, they were station wagons that were sent to a custom coach works shop and converted to "flower cars" for mortuaries.

@@Friedbrain11 yes, you are correct, back in the '90's i used to have a few of the '47 - '53 pickups, always thought it would be cool to build a COE but never could find any in usable condition. looked far and wide but everything i found was either beyond repair or would take a crap ton of money to rebuild. did have a '50 chevy pickup though with a GMC 302 built up with aftermarket intakes, 3 carbs, a split header, cam, higher compression pistons, had it balanced, and used a hydromatic 4 speed trans from a 2 ton truck in it (the one with a clutch to launch then it shifted like an automatic). from stoplight to stoplight there wasnt a v8 around that could out run it.

I believe you and your research lacks credibility. The COE style truck was produced by Ford, GM, Dodge, International, from the late 30s up into the late 70s. Packard never produced a pickup. They were a luxury sedan. Where are you getting your info. The only time Packard or Caddy pickup was a special built vehicle for fruneral homes called flower cars. GM didn’t produce any nor Packard. Dodge trucks were weak sellers. Lacked horsepower due to the flathead six. And rode like a lumber wagon with a lot of engine heat from up through the floor. Panel trucks were made by most truck builders. GM didn’t have the only panel truck, these panels go back into the early 30s.

Fun fact; the Kaiser pickup was at least until late (or maybe still, Google it) built under license by Hyundai for the south korean military in an upgraded version with a slightly changed front end design. Seems like it had been upgraded with some domestic diesel engine in later years. In Sweden, our military used a few of the Jeep marked slabside pickup version up into the eighties, don´t know if there´s any difference in the mechanics but those had the Wagoneer/Cherokee ribbed wide grille.

I have never been so underwhelmed, EVER! The computer generated voice track was a cure for insomniacs that do not respond to heavy medication! It mispronounced many words while wandering aimlessly through the most boring recitation of every sales brochure ever written! Add the fact that many of the images were of custom modified vehicles and the videos/movies must have been taken during level 7 earthquakes! Also, when were semi tractors and dump trucks considered pickup trucks? This was, for lack of a better word, HORRIBLE! However, there were some images of some vehicles that are too rare to even know exist. Most of them appeared to have been taken in junk yard but, a few were quite good. That does not make the video any better. They just make it tolerable, but barely so. I sincerely hope to never see another video from this creator.
